2 Wiring problem of the 2000 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 09/22/2005

Purchased 2000 Chrysler Voyager minivan from david stanley Dodge in midwest city, ok. On September 22, 2005, the vehicle caught on fire in the inside of the vehicle, in the rear near the speaker compartment. Luckily the fire extinguished itself and no further damage to the vehicle other than the speaker and melting of wires around speaker. No injuries. Investigated vehicle fires on similar vehicles and found the 2001 and 2002 Chrysler/Dodge minivans were recalled for fire stemming from a manufacturing defect where the on certain Mini vans, condensation from the instrument panel air conditioning ducts may drop through vent holes in the top of the radio and result in a short circuit that subsequently sends direct current to the rear speakers. (directly from recall notice) the recall notice was NHTSA campaign id number : 04v531000 obviously what occurred with my van is exactly as described in this recall, the air conditioning unit was running and also the radio was turned on however my vehicle was not recalled due to this defect. When I took the vehicle to david stanley Dodge located at 7609 se 29th street, midwest city, ok 73110 (405)737-3700 "nick" was my service advisor. Although nick was helpful, they contacted Chrysler and denied any claim or responsibility and would not even look at the vehicle to ensure its safety! I now feel unsafe driving this vehicle for further problems. Thank you for you time in this matter!.

3 Wiring problem of the 1999 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 01/13/2005

I have owned 3 Chrysler vehicles. Each one always has one of the power windows that fail. I had a 1994 grand Voyager se; the driver's side window failed and it cost nearly $500 to fix due to a broken piece of plastic I have a 1999 grand Voyager se and the right side powered window suddenly stopped working. I am a disabled vet and I don't have the money to pay $500 to make a window work. The dealer I use is milton ruben in augusta georgia. I recently purchased a 1997 grand Voyager with 48k miles with a wheel chair lift on it. Even with the low mileage, the engine growls and lack pick up. The right front tire housing suddenlly came loose and is dangling. I hate to ask how much that will cost.

7 Wiring problem of the 1996 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 10/06/2002

1996 Plymouth Voyager ;when ignition key is switch to on. Front windshield wiper will turn on for a brief period and power door lock makes like a grinding noise. Note the engine has not been crank and started yet and all the switches has been off and not touch at all. Eventually a few days after incident some switches to the hvac fan has not been working and the factory stereo eventually malfunction. You cannot tune the am/fm tuner it stays in 1 station. The automatic transmission at times wont shift and other times will shift without problem. The minivan has 48. 500 miles only. I brought it to the dealer at mall chysler and they recomended transmission fluid replacement and replace clock spring, and repair fluel rail-injection. There is no change in the transmission shift,it still occasionally refuses to shift at times noticing the tach needle going at 4,000rpm with speed of only 30-40mph. The symptoms remains with wiper having a mind of its own turning on when inginition is on. Another prolem comes up after I brought van to the dealer. Occasionally interior lights will come on when I'm driving. Also head gasket leaking. I hope Chrysler will help me.

10 Wiring problem of the 1999 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 06/18/2001

Drain plug is cross threaded and stripped out. Oil change place said they have seen this problem with many chysler Mini vans and they have provided me with three related articles that support the facxt that the drain plugs have too short threads which casuses them to strip out easily after normal oil change use. This will end up costing me over $200!! they are claiming that I have to buy a new oil pan, which is probably the same so this will undoubtly happen again the next time I get my oil changed a few times. If this is noted and had been documented many times why hasn't this problem been fixed via a recall?? the easy fix according to the articles is to simply install a longer drain plug with longer threads. Please advise where I can go from here. I am only leasing this vehicle and even bought an extended warrantly, but this is crap!.
