Failure Date: 07/03/2018

Porsche cars north America as part of the epa/carb settlement modified the 2015 Cayenne in a manner to comply with the original emissions requirements. The modification has significantly affected performance I such a way that the vehicle is now dangerous in certain situations. When merging onto highways or attempting to overtake there is a significant lack of response to throttle input leading to near misses by other vehicles. 45 Power Train problem of the 2012 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 02/23/2017

Porsche Cayenne 2012. Has transmission casing issues and they are not recalling it! had transmission casing replaced with unmodified part and in less that 25k its broken again. Worry about my safety on the road as im traveling with kids and elderly a lot. They covered first emplacement as the vehicle was under warranty, but refuse to cover second replacement labor costs! its unacceptable! Porsche does not honor their quality, when the part was replaced unmodified in 2015, they were fully aware that this would be a problem down the road and sure enough, it is!! $650 dollars in labor must have been covered as was the second replacement part!!.

46 Power Train problem of the 2012 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 02/22/2017

Camshaft adjuster bolts failed. . . Vehicle lost power while driving, including braking system and power steering. Porsche recalled some 2011s, but no 2012 were recalled for the same problem. I have kept the faulty parts which match part number with known defect. Porsche would not honor goodwill or any discount, even with proof of matching numbers per the manufacturer.

48 Power Train problem of the 2004 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

Tl the contact owns a 2004 Porsche Cayenne. The contact stated he parked the vehicle in his drive way without the emergency break engaged and left to enter his residence. The contact stated within 2-3 minutes later, when exiting his residence, the vehicle inadvertently shifted gears to reverse and rolled away from his residence. The contact stated the vehicle hit two trees, a fence, continued to roll away and hit a second fence which detained the vehicle. Air bags did not deploy. The contact state no one was injured. The contact stated he had to break the rear passenger side window to enter and turn off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a body shop for body damage repairs. The contact state at that moment he did not contact the dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The contact states he received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v446000 (power train) in September of 2019. The vehicle was taken Porsche of omaha (6625 l st, omaha, ne 68117) where the recall repairs were serviced. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

49 Power Train problem of the 2004 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 02/14/2014

Upon taking the vehicle out of the driveway I started hearing a ticking sound coming from the engine, something like a lifter hitting the block. I pulled back in to my driveway and called a repair shop and scheduled an appointment. When meeting with the technician I was informed that the engine had a scored cylinder and that it is a common issue with the model and year. The only recourse to fix the issue would be to replace the engine. A replacement engine would cost $17 -35,000 - more than the vehicle is worth. If I were to replace it with a used engine, I would be destined for a repeat of the same issue. If this issue is such a common problem why has there not been a recall for these vehicles? I have contacted the manufacturer and was told that I would need to have a authorized service dealership make the diagnosis I have already been told, but there is not a authorized dealership within 500 miles of my location.

52 Power Train problem of the 2006 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 07/22/2011

Sometime in 2011 I noticed the car began to hesitate when shifting gears (automatic). I was on a long drive from florida to my home in maryland when the first incident occurred. I thought it was just a thing until it began to happen routinely at all speeds. I took it to the dealer and they advised that the valve body would need to be replaced at a cost of $4,500. I missed the warranty period by 60 days so I would have to pay the cost. The truck only had 75,000 miles on it as I usually used my other car for my daily commute. I'm letting the vehicle sit until I can afford such a costly repair. I got the vehicle from a dealer in NY with only 3000 miles on it. I'm certain this was a defect that Porsche knew about and they should offer to foot the bill for the repair.

53 Power Train problem of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 04/15/2011

Vehicle fails to accelerate from a stop intermittently. Vehicle hesitates/ bogs down for 5 to 8 seconds before accelerating regardless of the throttle position. The fault has occurred 9 times already.

54 Power Train problem of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 03/31/2011

When rolling slowly (<15mph) 1-2 second stall/bog after pressing accelerator before car accelerates, creating a major safety issue esp when merging with traffic, changing lanes, etc. Porsche north America denies this is a problem after inspection and says its "performing to specification". Separately, several Porsche dealers have verbally acknolwedged and/or confirmed this issue and call it a "first year" hybrid model problem.

55 Power Train problem of the 2009 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 03/28/2009

I own a 2009 Porsche carrera convertible with pdk transmission. In stop and go traffic and car shifts into neutral for a split second or two before engaging into first gear. My car only has 4,300 miles and this problem seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Porsche told me that they are aware of the problem with no solution at this time. This situation is very dangerous when I am waiting in an intersection wanted to make a left turn and then when I finally it is clear to turn the car would shift into neutral for about a second before engaging into first gear.

56 Power Train problem of the 2008 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 03/03/2009

I purchased my 2008 Porsche Cayenne turbo as a second owner but before the purchase was completed the coolant hose rupture failure occurred. The repair was at a cost well north of $2000 at the motor werks Porsche of barrington. I also have a 2002 Porsche 996 turbo which just recently ruptured the coolant hose. The cost is once again right around two thousand dollars. I'm just fed up that this epoxy failure within the coolant system which has affected so many Porsche owners. I'm very disappointed that this issue is not fixed even in their later models but very happy to find out that maybe something will arise with these complaints.
