Constant random recurrence of error codes p2122 and p2138 (either together or on their own) which results in the car switching to low power mode, with very low acceleration which makes it very dangerous to merge into traffic, pull out of stops, red lights, etc. Technically supposed to require changing the throttle pedal sensor, but changing it does not solve the issue, which is electrical. This is a known issue for gm cars.

My car won't start and no mechanic can figure out exactly why due to there not being any SAAB dealers near the area I'm stuck in. . . I have been living out of my car for 3 months cuz I don't want anyone to steal my car.
Takata recall, after getting a notice I looked online called every single dealer in my area they all said they don't work on Saabi hope everything is gm finally I found one most of them said sub went bankrupt so in a few years the car should be fixed faded out and you should get rid of it they said no one will fix it because there's no older this is the of the dealerships within 100 mile radius dealership GMC's somehow I got connected to a repair shop that specializes in sob and they said they said they could do it there about one month out and I would have to come to them which was 400 miles away I told him it was a hardship also and if they could arrange to pick it up or we could arrange another shop to fix it for the dealer they said nope with only ones in northern California appointment later I got a notice from GMC it was and ambiguous it stated your seatbelt and airbag might not be recall however you might want to check this website which was in small print I took it as a discouraging memo when I checked it out they said if you don't have any dealers in yourn your area no I cannot drive it because of safety concerns nor can I sell it because of african more of the concerns I had showing a lawn service recalled I believe GMC is required and responsible in this case to buy back your vehicle for me or offer me a replacement in this case they are avoiding there's possibility and no matter if the company would bankrupt they are the ones that assumed I have been driving with this issue and I have kids and it is unsafe I need to help they need to be in burst me for the whole cost of the vehicle for.

Recently, while starting the car it started up very rough. A few weeks ago the check engine light also came on and the mechanic told me there was an issue in cylinder 2. We replaced all spark plugs and coils, and the issue did not go away. In addition, the car has also started stalling randomly. Luckily, I haven't been driving at high speeds when this has happened but it's now shut off about 7 or 8 times in the last month. Been wondering if its intake valves, fuel pump, powertrain control module, camshaft timing. . . Sounds like lots of other people have experienced similar issues and hoping mines not because of the intake valves. Please email zachgrosel@hotmail. Com if you have experienced similar issues and know the fix. Car is a manual transmission.
I recently bought a 2008 SAAB 9-3 and the fuel reader lights up and says it's empty, even when the tank it full. Also, the door locks doesn't work when unlocking or locking them. This happens when trying to lock or unlock with remote key and when your lock or unlock it form the since. You have to lock or unlock it manually by pulling up or pushing down with your hand. I have done some research online and I came across a lot of other SAAB 9-3 owners that have came across the same problem. I think it should be recall since I think it should be fair enough for SAAB to fix the situation.
While driving, without any warning the car engine stalls. No warning at all!! once it stops, ignition key won't work. The only way to restart the car is to disconnect the battery. This is all done in the emergency shoulders, breakdown lanes, its also happened on the highway exit ramps. Luckily each time there was a place to pull over. We could get killed. It has happened numerous times . Sometimes it stalls 2-3 times a day. I am so disappointed in this car. I am afraid to drive it, and how can I sell it knowing that something bad could happen to the new owner.
Tl-the contact owns a 2003 SAAB 9-3. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, smoke emitted underneath the hood. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road. The contact mentioned that smoke emitted from the battery compartment. There were no flames visible. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis, who informed the failure was contributed to the electrical system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 158,000. The VIN was unavailable. Js.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 SAAB 9-3. The contact stated that after the vehicle was started, the steering wheel lock warning light illuminated and the doors of the vehicle failed to lock. The contact mentioned that on another occasion, the ignition key failed to go into the on position . A tow truck operator informed that the vehicle could not be moved because the wheels was locked. The vehicle was restarted however, the contact stated that failure re occurred intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000. Ss.
Upon starting my vehicle it had a rough idle, I went ahead and put it in gear and began to leave my garage, then my check engine light started blinking and there was a burning smell. I then put it back in park and got my husband to check it out when he opened the hood smoke was coming from the first cylinder on the engine. He quickly unhooked the battery and removed the oem bosch coil pack with gloves on because it was extremely hot (took over an hour to cool down after removed from the car), so hot that the coil pack came apart, had split open and melted. I have pictures and kept the pack for evidence. I do believe had he not got the pack out it could have very quickly been an electrical/engine fire. Part number from coil pack #12613057.
I was driving my car through town and the left side of the driver's seat got so hot it burned my upper left thigh and I was trying to pull my leg out of the way and almost crashed, and when I stopped the car I saw that it had also burnt the leather seat leaving about a four and a half inch burn mark on the seat above the heater coil.

While attempting to install new headlights, I removed the negative on the battery. After putting the negative back on to the battery, the system has reset and has not rebooted since then. The car is in minimal driving condition, performance has significantly dropped and the steering wheel locks while driving at high speeds, the engine knocks and shakes at high speeds, there is no more turbo boost and while flooring the gas pedal, the car is hesitant to increase speed.
As I was driving in the middle lane of the 3 northbound lanes of u. S. 23, the engine suddenly stalled. I was going about 62 mph. I activated my emergency flashers, shifted the automatic transmission to neutral, and shut off the ignition key. I then turned the ignition key to restart the engine and it restarted. This is about the 5th time this has happened in the past 5 months. This vehicle should be included in gms ignition recall!!!.
My dic failed for a second time! I hear its an extremely common issue with these vehicles.
My 2007 SAAB 9-3, has incidents of not starting when I insert the key into the ignition. I get an that indicates "steering wheel lock malfunction. Pull over safely". This has happened to me while stopped at a light and while driving on the highway at speeds of 65 miles per hour. I notice that while the car is in gear, I can drive it but once I place it in park, the car will not drive. I have to turn the car off and restart it in order to move it. I am concerned for my safety if this should happen while I am driving. The car is a general motors product however gm neglected to keep my car warranty information once they discontinued selling SAAB. I can no longer get any information from gm on any recalls. I purchased my car new and it has 78,000 miles.
The passenger-side taillight bulbs have become so dim that they are visible only upon very close inspection. The taillight bulbs also serve as the brake lights, emitting a brighter light when the brake is depressed. Because of this malfunction, following cars may not have sufficient visual notice that the car in front of them is braking, resulting in a traffic collision. I understand that this is a relatively common problem and was able to have the connector for the malfunctioning taillight replaced. This was an exercise in futility as, almost immediately, the taillight became as dim as it had been prior to the connector replacement. This issue, which evidently cannot be easily remedied, creates a hazard to vehicle occupants, and those in cars following the affected vehicle.
Had the engine light on for three months then I was driving on the highway yesterday and suddenly the engine wouldn't take gas. I was able to pull over off the highway slowly and it stopped completely after I made the exit. The machanic told me that I need a new ignition cassette! so dangerous!.
Two items: 1. The seatbelt failed to catch when pulled forward and would unravel and not return. The seatbelt fails to stop the passenger should there be a sudden stop. 2. Both the left and right side tail light assemblies have shorted and melted at the electrical connection.
Vehicle stalled during a right turn at slow speed.
Brought my 2001 SAAB 9-3 for campaign recall 05v399000 idm to dirito brothers SAAB of walnut creek, California. Dealer stated not required to change the idm. If my idm fails at a later date, I could be susceptible to injury or death. Need to know if dealer is required to change idm.
On August 27, 2012, while shopping in the mall, I came out side to the fire department putting a fire out that looks to have occurred while I was in the store. I don't understand how the care caught fire while it was parked. When I got out of the car it seemed to be fine. The fire marshall report side that it was an electrical fire that started because a defect from the manufacturer.
The rear driver's side door lock actuator doesn't always lock or unlock using the keyfob. It sometimes clicks like it's trying to lock/unlock, but is always . 5-1 second slower than the other doors. It does not have a key slot to unlock the door via a key. The door can be locked/unlocked using the push/pull rod on the interior - until the actuator fully freezes, then it can't be locked or unlocked at all.
Intermittent problem with door locks, sometimes the driver's side, sometimes one of the other 3 doors, the door lock will not lock the door; or sometimes is the opposite where it will not unlock the door.
While driving at 11:30 pm on a small (paved) country road with my high beams on, my warning system indicated "left high beam failure. I continued driving and about a minute later I noticed sparks along the left side of the car. I pulled over to see what was wrong and the left head light was in flames. Within 15 minutes the entire front half/engine of the car was in flames and the entire front half of the car essentially burned to the ground.
I have a 2002 SAAB 93 and the dic cassette on those car always good bad. They are defective there was a recall on those cars and I called the dealer and asked them and they said there wasn't no such recall, they denied it because the parts is expensive.
The contact owns a 2003 SAAB 9-3. The contact stated that the fuel gauge and message display board was defective. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who refused to make repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 65,300.
The vehicle will become almost immobile in first and second gear (manual transmission). Once in third gear, performance is back to normal. If driver is not aware of situation (cruise light off is only indication if cruise control system is turned on), driver can easily get into bad situation as car will not perform as usual (very significant degradation of performance). All that is needed to reset problem is to turn the key off and restart the engine and the condition will go away for as little as 10 minutes or up to as much as 2 hours of driving. It is suspected that this problem could be associated with the air mass sensor as replacing air mass sensor with used part, problem disappeared for several months. This condition could cause a serious safety issue if driver is not aware and tries to make a quick maneuver involving tight traffic (left turn when performance is paramount). Whatever this condition is that the electronics/engine controls is/are entering is unacceptable and this problem needs to be corrected by the manufacturer in a recall.
Passenger and I were driving and activated both front heated seats on the highest setting. Soon after, both of us detected a burning smell and immediately shut off both heated seats. Upon arrival, we exited and visually observed a small burn mark where the passenger's left shoulder would be. It burned through the leather and singed the hair of the passenger. The burn mark is about the size of a nickel and we can no longer use the heated seat function.
2007 SAAB 9-3 aero equipped with 2. 8l v6 turbo engine (convertible) - engine compartment fire - (odometer - 23,200 miles) upon starting, engine ran a little rough, proceeded to SAAB dealer for service - no service lights on dash - eventually lost power brakes - engine stalled and burst into flames - all happened within a one-mile distance.
Driving on freeway on ramp, without warning vehicle lost all power in the middle of traffic, almost causing a serious crash. Took vehicle to mechanic and it was discover that there was a faulty throttle body. Part was replaced.
2004 SAAB 9-3 arc. The circuit located in the rear of the car, which controls the rear light clusters including the top mounted brake light often fails. I have replaced it twice in just over a year and it has failed again. It starts with one bulb failing and the warning message shows up on the display. Then in a series all the other bulbs start to fail. They either don't work or are always on even if the car is switched off and locked. The entire circuit board was replaced twice at a price of over $700 inc of labor.
