1 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2014

I was stopped one evening on my home from dinner when my car would not shift and had to make arrangements to get car to the dealership for the second costly repair. . . Then six months later I received a special coverage letter in the mail. I had followed the process through the dealership for reimbursement and never so quickly got turned down due to the mileage at the time of repair. Prior to 2009, this transmission had issues caused by a very weak 3,5,r wave plate, which made this transmission prone to failure in gm products. Updated wave plates were released for many clutches in 6t70. The old design wave plates weren’t stress relieved and could break with use. The updated wave plates are available. First course of action was a TSB number: pip-4327a owners of 2007-2009 Saturn Aura and outlook, and 2008-2009 Saturn vue equipped with the 6t70/75 6-speed automatic transmission may experience no reverse and slip/flare/harsh shifts in 3rd and/or 5th gear. Codes p0776 clutch pressure control (pc) solenoid 2 stuck off and p0842 transmission fluid pressure 14404a – special coverage adjustment – transmission clutch wave plate I am requesting a recall due to having defective parts. . . Knowingly and waiting until consumers/customers were over the mileage to get out of any type of reimbursement that is due to them. I have never been so disappointed with gm customer service and repeating the same answer back to me every time knowingly that my car repair was due to defective parts. . . . I followed the steps and nothing. . . As if this is all made up. The incident date above was the replacement of the wave plate, piston and spring, reaction gear etc. I have spoke with lawanda at gm customer service many times and like I have told her I 'm not going away anytime soon. Sincerely, karla barnes.

2 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

Transmission jumping into neutral from first gear and very difficult to get back into gear. Finally get into second gear and it jumped back into neutral. . Called gm and was told not covered under recall as mine is 6 speed (4 speed transmission only were re-called) and too bad that the power train warranty expired in April 2012. Not even 100,000 miles on it. Dealership said definitely internal problem possibly an internal power solenoid issue but would take many hours and lot more money to diagnose. Asked about the after warranty coverage and was told by dealership no guarantee I would qualify and again it would cost me several hundred more to take apart and diagnose. Ended up buying a gm re-manufactured at $4500. Normal citizens do not have that kind of money for repairs when it is known issue by gm that the Saturn Aura's have severe problems with that transmission. Please issue recall on this transmission. I'm glad no accident happened due to this defect.

3 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2013

I had never had problems with the transmission before this. Then one day I was just driving a couple of mile to the bank. On the way there, my 2007 Saturn Aura seemed to kick and I experienced some hard shifting. On the way back, I started to lose power at times and the car was having trouble shifting gears. I barely made it home and got it into park. The next day I had the car towed 5 miles to an independent mechanic who recommended transmission tear-down inspection, plus diagnostics & computer scan revealed codes p0717 - input speed sensor, p0756 - shift solenoid b performance stuck off, p0989-tpf switch 5 circuit low volume, p0016, p0017, p0018, p0019 variable timing actuator, p0300 - engine misfire, p0455 evap leak, p0690 engine control, p0700 -transmission controls. I paid $650 to have 4 new speed sensor/solenoid, variable timing actuators installed, but the car wouldn't get out of 3rd gear so I had the car towed 25mi to the closest GMC Saturn/chevy dealership for the transmission work since I was given $4k - $6k estimates for the balance of the work locally. At the dealership, they looked at it and after a week, they replaced cp $1,328. 11??,internal pressure sensor solenoid failed, replaced trans control module and after paying over $1,050. 00 of the $2,167. 34 bill, they told me that the timing belt was stretched, and I needed to drive it tenderly but that it wasn't worth paying to have the chain replaced and the check engine light would remain on. I drove it home and the next morning the car still wouldn't get out of 3rd gear. I had to drive the 25 miles back to the dealer at 40mph on back roads which took 2 hours. I called gm to reduce the repair costs and finally got my car back oct. 7, 2013 in a drivable state - check engine light was still on and shifting was rough. My problem is now I can't register my car or pass smog without spending another $2k-$5k.

4 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2013

On July 4th 2013 while driving the car, I could feel a hard kick on the transmission this went on until Saturday July 6th, accelerating to merge to traffic on route 50 chantilly virginia the car all of a sudden started to accelerate and decelerate rapidly it was like a while bronco ride then will not move forward or engage any gears. I had to pull to the side of the road and turn off the engine. Restarted the car but will run only on second gear, managed to drive the car to the auto shop (german auto diagnostics) where I was told the transmission failed (solenoid). Transmission will have to be rebuilt at a cost of 4800. 00 dollars.
