Saturn ION owners have reported 5 problems related to fuses and circuit breaker (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was on my honeymoon in orlando, FL. On Nov. 17th, 2011 when it went out the first time. I discovered that when I turned the vehicle off and started it again, that the power steering would return to proper operation. Since that day, it has been intermittent. No typical timing or environmental situation, just randomly stop working. It did that for several months until 3 weeks ago when it would shut off 5 minutes after starting the vehicle every time. Now, it does nothing, it never comes on. I checked both fuses and being in the vehicle industry myself, I know that a fuse, relay, or circuit breaker just dies. I feel that if it were the fuse, it would not only work sometimes but it would not work at all. I am expecting the manufacturer to replace this. As this is my 3rd Saturn and I had well over 200k on the other 2 with no problems at all.

Ignition problem - engine won't start, passlock prevents ignition. I live in texas and it's rarely that cold in the mornings, every time this has happened to me it has been a cold wet blustery day but not freezing. Car acts like the battery is dead, but frequent manipulation of the passlock remote will eventually clear the problem. This has left me stranded several times, and if Saturn knows about the problem, and hasn't done anything about it in the 5 years that it has been occurring, then they should be held criminally negligent. They should be made to correct the problem with the ignition and the passlock system, and replace or repair the control module at no cost. My door locks no longer work, and in speaking to other owners I can expect a downward spiral of electrical failures in the coming months.

I have taken my Saturn Ion3 in to the dealership three times now for the body control module keeps blowing fuses. The first time was the week after christmas 2005, the second was exactly a month later and the third time was o week after that. On the first visit they say that they replaced the (bcm), on the second visit they just replaced the fuse and sent me on my way and the third visit they said that they could not re-create the problem and told me to pick up my car after a week. I picked my car up on Thursday evening and not 3 days later and the fuse is blown again. Their only answer was to give me a couple extra fuses in the panel area so that I could change them myself.

Electrical; door seals loose; car returned up to 3 times since purchase on 7/13/03. Saturn Ion 3 coupe--turn signals burned out w/in one week of each other; requested check of electrical system. July 26, 2003 electrical system checked. Complained about door seal at same time & service dept did not check it out until they replaced the fuse box on July 31. Requested to return vehicle and was told "it would be fixed to my satisfaction". Door seal was not installed properly & I have to take the car back for a fourth time to get this repaired approximately one week from today.
