Takata recall vehicle in park when started. Lights dim an go bright on dash. Fan goes on when motor not hot. When fan goes on and car is being driven car will jump when car shifts gears. I only can drive on side roads. To nervous to go on highway now. Only happens when cooling fan is on. I have seen lots of reports that people post of other cars like mine having same issues. Was told they reported it. Nothing was done. Seriously this needs to be addressed. Shouldn't matter were the car was made. Parts are the same. I haven't brought it in since 2017. I don't have money for repairs or fix it if it's the manufacturs faulty parts. I've already put 1400 dollars for replacement of fuel pump an other parts. An this problem still exists. Please let me know if an when you can look into this issue.
Smoke started coming from the turn signal switch in the steering wheel column it got worse and then the handle melted off and then in minutes the flames ignited and the car was completely inflamed. Right before this happened my daughter drove the car up the street to take my son to the bus stop when she brought it back home the smoke started from the steering wheel column. The car was parked in my driveway about 30 feet from my house.

Please help! my key and ignition are burning hot, my car doesn't always start, the power cuts off, the service engine light comes on and off and when I start it in the morning the exhaust is super strong. Gm told me I have to pay a dealer $110. 00 to diagnose the problem that you have clearly defined and recalled in 2003 but I was never notified as the original owner for that recall. I broke my neck and am a single, disabled mom of a 12 year old. I do not want to be trapped in a fire or rearended and totally paralyzed or dead! what the heck is gm thinking? they said they only act on recalls if they come from you!.

Dash light don't work speedo don't work fuel gage don't work door locks don't work if this problem seem to be the same as it was in 2005 shouldn't it still be covered on the 2003 recall thank you for your time mileage don't shore I think around 135000.

Security issue: while driving car suddenly security lights up. Drl start flashing. On and off during the trip the doors locks proceed to go up and down. Gas gauge goes down to empty(had full tank) and loud bing sound(like doors opened while key in ignition. Spedometer I think went to something can't remember what, but it was wrong. Service engine light comes on/off. Outside lights also are flashing like a police cars. Drive home and unplug battery(which read online to try) okayish until may12, 2014. While reversing into driveway security light is back on. Spedometer is now at 694978 miles and hasn't changed in 4 days! I had under 110k on the car. Can not lock my doors. They make a buzzing sound when in gear or I hit lock/open button. And they have suddenly locked themselves when I'm away from the car. Read many Saturns have an bcm issue. Found an chevorlet dealer that is going to check my car out tomorrow. He informed me so far there are 2 other recalls on my car, but not for what I'm explaining to him. 1 (tail lights) I already fixed! love to get my money back on that!!.
I have a 2000 Saturn Ls 1 that I had bought in June 14 2012 @ the us truck & auto on us. 31 south here in traverse city michigan 49685. The salesperson's name is[xxx]. I was on craigs list looking for a reliable car and I came upon us truck & auto and wyane would not let me test drive the car and that the car is in perfect running condition until March 14,2014 my wheel came off at a stoplight getting to go on green but didn't move far. And when I got the car the dome light wasn't working and a wire had been disconnected from the daytime head lamp and burned out tail lights. Since I purchased it at a car dealership I took they had the vehicle inspected but learned later that wayne does not always have the vehicles inspected that he puts on his lots but sells lemons. He would rather sale a lemon or a vehicle that will in danger a person then to follow the laws and make sure the vehicles are road safe before he sells them. I needed a car because I have a friend that has issues with her back and legs plus we live 7 to 8 miles out of traverse city, mi and don't have much money to do much of anything right now. My friend and I love this car the engine and transmission are fairly new. We have tried to ask for help getting the car fixed from churches and other organizations but even they barely have the money to help. The buses here refuse to work for us and taxis are way to much money to take us shopping for food or doctor's appointments. Please help us get our car fixed or maybe even a different 4 cylinder car. Thank you for your time! [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

2nd owner of vehicle, tail lamps had over heating issue, NHTSA issued recall on 2 June 2005, Saturn refuses to address the issue, saying auto is to old. Date for fixing issue is 10 years from date bulletin was issued. Was told by a Saturn "customer care rep. " that adapters were installed in Feb 2009. Auto wasn't registered in 2009, and no adapters have ever been installed. I am a disabled vietnam veteran living on a very meager monthly income and can't afford to replace these lamps. I am driving this auto with no brake lights, aside from anti-collision lamp at top of rear windshield. I hope this letter has more impact than I've been able to achieve, as of today. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had multiple problems with this car, I have had issues with the catalytic converter, a fire in the resonator and 4 or 5 times where the car just stops running and I'm not able to get it to start again for a while. The car has accelerated when my foot was not even on the peddle making me go 65 in 30 with no control over the vehicle. I have also had times where the gas peddle was stuck and I was unable to slow down even when slamming on the brakes. At stop lights the wheels keep spinning when my foot is on the brake and the car moves into the intersection.

I wasn't in a accident thank god but I bought this car going on a year from a auction and in about 4 months ago noticed the back tail lights kept going out and then just wouldn't come back on I tried everything. Ad of 10/6/2013. I change the fuses the brake. Lights came on for one night and then went out again. So I don't know what's going on. So noticed that it was a recall on this. And I wanted. To see if I could still get it fixed on the recall because I cant drive my car like this and it need to be fixed. And didn't have this car at the time of the recall and this is serious and any other recalls on this car that need to be fixed I need it.
Affected parts drop box not functional. Electrical system is defective. Noticed smoke from turn signal area. Pulled to emergency lane, pulled off rubber flap and smoke was pouring into cabin. Turned car off. Could not see flames, smoke stopped after a few minutes. Needless to say turn signals, headlight dimmer, radio, blower motor, door locks are now all malfunctioning. Already had to pay for bcm replacement as not covered under recalls. This make/model is dangerous and needs all complaints addressed.
Approx. March 2013 started having this problem, never before! driving home as it got dark and head lights running on dusk to dawn "sensor" head lights all of a sudden started going from day time running lights to low beam and back to high beam the whole ride home which took approx. 1 hour. Has happened again off and on and had the car in the shop twice for this problem and they said they could not find anything wrong and that the e-mails they get says it is " normal operating conditions???" I don't think so when your lights keep going up and down ( high- low) and expecting someone thinking you are letting them out and pull out in from of you. Garage claims there is no solution, so this is why we are writing, what do we do?? realize it is a 2002 but never had the problem and now it's not able to be solved?? very scary when driving at night??.
The security system in my 2001 Saturn l100 is defective, as many other vehicles of this model and year are experiencing the same problem. After consulting with "customer service rep" (ha!ha!) told to take the car to dealership & technicians will reset the security system. This is a craftsmanship issue caused by defective item. General motors has lost a longtime "be american~ buy american" car buyer. This is theft plain and simple!.

The security light blinks constantly all night long running down my battery in turn the car wont start , I have had the bcm replaced which the dealer said was bad , have had battery replaced and still having the same problem one tech. Says the light is suppose to blink all night another electrical tech says it not the manual say it will blink twice to let you know it is armed. It has cost me a thousand dollars already and the car is still having the same problem.
I was driving my car to work and leaving my street to turn onto a busy highway. I lifted the turn signal lever to indicate my turn and the blinker did not work. I tried the other turn signal direction and that did not work either. The hazard button did work. I instinctively use the turn signals and have heard a buzzing sound coming from the center of the dashboard, near the hazard button/switch. Blinkers work if I press the hazard warning light, use the turn signal and then depress the hazard button. Upon research on the internet it seems that the hazard warning switch may be the culprit. I've contacted gm customer service to notify them of this problem and am waiting for their reply. It seems that there has been a recall on this part for the 2000 Saturn Ls but not for my model and year.
