Engine Exhaust System Problems of Saturn LS

My timing chain separated and caused major damage to my engine. I have a Saturn 2000 Ls 2. 2l engine. I never had a problem, never knew the chain was a problem. I went to start my car, it would not start. It was towed to goodyear, they said I have no compression, the timing chain broke. My only solution is to put a new engine into my car. I have always changed the oil at 3,000 miles and mechanically took care of my car. I am looking to replace the motor with money I do not have. A timing chain should not fail in these conditions.

Wife was driving at 50 mph where the engine died. The cause of the failure was a broken timing chain which also damaged the head and values. The vehicle was repaired by replacing the timing chain, resurfacing the head, and replacing the bad exhaust values I mailed in my recall materials on 2/9/2008. On 2/13/2008 Saturn called to tell me they approved my request for reimbursement on 2/25/2008 Saturn called to tell me that they were denying my reimbursement.

There was a problem with fumes inside the contact's vehicle. She first noticed the problem in August 2005. The contact stated that the fumes caused lethargic behavior and fast heart beat. The vehicle has not been inspected yet. When the contact had been riding in a friend's vehicle she did not have these problems. But when she rode in her own vehicle they occurred.

I bought the car brand new and it was in the shop two weeks later. So far I've gone through 2 catalytic converters, 2 electronic control modules. I think only one coil, with a couple oxygen sensors to go along with that. Both of the cylinders have gone out on the clutch. I'm still waiting for Saturn to call me on an air check valve that supposedly failed. As for the power locks, they just seem to lock or not to lock when they feel fit to do so. I also get a service light that comes on when it feels like it to. . . . .

Faulty evap purge solenoid(s) replaced by dealer at 333, 1516 (notified at 1170 - on order for a month) miles. Including original, car has had 3 evap solenoids thus far. My friend has an 2000 Ls1 too. He has also had his evap solenoid replaced at least once. Thank you.

An ses system failed that controls exhaust fumes and mixture of fuel. This failure caused vehicle to stall with no warning. Vehicle has been in repair shop three times for this problem. Please describe details.
