2 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2014

Traveling at 70mph on I 75 and rpms increased and speed decreased almost causing the truck behind me to rear end the vehicle. Got off on first exit and parked to look things over and no obvious problems. Tried to put car in reverse and nothing only 1st gear of the automatic transmission operating. After hours of research this appears to be a common problem with this transmission. If this has not caused a fatal accident yet I am positive it will soon.

3 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2014

Very scary. We went on a short vacation in PA and while we were going up a hill, my vehicle suddenly would not shift into gear. We were traveling about 27 mph and the engine rpm went to 7000. I have to quickly pull off the road and call for roadside assistance. Soon after this incident, the check engine light came on. We were towed to the local gas station and the mechanic said it's a transmission problem and would cost over a $1000. I went on the web did some research and found out that this gm module been having transmission problem and gm did absolute noting to resolve this. This is the first time I bough gm and it will be the last.

5 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2013

My husband was driving on the highway. All of a sudden the vehicle downshifted. So when I decided to drive it. The vehicle will not shift in to gear past 20 miles and hour. I took it to the local dealer. I told him I have research this online and it better not be this thing called a waveplate. Well to my surprise it was. They are charging me for the parts and labor $2200. 00. I stated to him, I have had several cars there is no way the transmission should have started slipping so soon. This vehicle had so many issues and it is too soon for me to trade it in. But if I could I would. There needs to be a recall on this entire transmission.

6 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. When the contact purchased the vehicle, there was a recall on the transmission that was never repaired. While driving 65 mph, she noticed transmission failure when the gears became difficult to shift. The vehicle would also remain stuck in high rpm's while attempting to slow down. The contact stated that the vehicle sounded as if it would explode. The dealer performed a computer update on the transmission, but it did not remedy the failure. Furthermore, a strut spontaneously became bent, which caused the steering wheel to jerk at a 90 degree angle. The dealer repaired the strut. The contact smelled gasoline multiple times coming from her vehicle. The dealer was unable to identify the origin of the smell and could not assist. The current mileage was approximately 26,500 and failure mileage was approximately 854.
