I have a wire that burned-out and it controls my windows, sunroof,my ac controls, and then also my transmission is shutering.
I just purchased this vehicle & on my way home with it the check engine light came on. I hooked up the diagnostic code scanner on the car and it threw several different codes po700, po752, po420. There are specific transmission issues with this particular year, make, and model. My car has the exact same symptoms as the others that were recalled so why has mine not been recalled as well? it's malfunctioning just as the others described in the recall so clearly this is a common issue with these particular vehicles. I feel my car should be covered as part of the safety recall on the transmission and I need it repaired as soon as possible.
The vehicles automatic transmission was not shifting appropriately with fluctuating changes of speeds, then the car would not maintain a safe speed to exit the freeway. After parking I called a tow truck and had it delivered to the closest dealer where they had put in a rebuilt transmission when the vehicle had 90,223 miles back in 2013. Now, less than 50,000 miles later the dealership is telling me the vehicle needs another transmission at the cost of $5,500. If a vehicle only gets 50,000 miles out of a transmission somethings not right! I have my receipts from the first transmission that clearly indicate the mileage.
Receiving message on dash display: engine power reduced, service stabilitrak, service traction control. Notice a sever drop in engine power and will practically not move if put in gear. Typically noticed when starting vehicle and pulling away. Can turn vehicle off for several minutes and issue is not experienced. (until the next time) there is no typical combination of events that happen before issue occurs, random. Have checked forums online and seems to be a common problem with this and other similar vehicles from gm (outlook, acadia, enclave, traverse).
Transmission hot idle engine.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. While driving approximately 40 mph, the traction control indicator flashed. Also, the air conditioning blew out smoke and the transmission jerked. The vehicle was driven home. The contact stated that the failures occurred for approximately one a half months. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
My transmission died in 2012 had put another transmission. Sitting in 2018 I need another transmission why can't they fix this problem. It's doesn't go above 10mph as I was driving also the roof leaks and car takes on water could cause a fire if you look online these are the 2 major complaints of this vehicle.
Dlr lights went out, poor gas millage, transmission shifts are not like a regular transmission the gears are staying to long before shifting.
Please issue recall for the wave plate. I was almost rear ended today because my vehicle would not get up to speed. This is going to cause an accident. I will not buy another gm vehicle. Wave plate is known to be faulty in Saturn Outlook, chevy traverse, and GMC acadia. This causes transmission not to shift properly and rev at 4k rpms. Transmission solonoid 1 gets stuck open per code please inform when recall is issued. This happens periodically whether stopped or in motion. This has happened 20+ times since September 2015.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. While driving approximately 35 mph and attempting to merge onto a highway, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The stability control and the brake system warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic who stated that the trans control module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.
Tve pps modul is not working properly. Power train is working wear when in desacelerating.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the clutch wave plate malfunctioned. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the technician diagnosed that the shift cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 103,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that during low climate weather, the ignition was turned into the on position and all of the warning indicators illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was shifted into drive but the vehicle failed to move. The contact also stated that while driving at numerous speeds, all of the warning indicators illuminated as the engine stalled. The contact stated that while driving during low temperatures, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle accelerated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was oil in the engine air flow. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 172,000. Sg.
I received a recall notice (14329) from gm at the end of September 2014. The recall stated: this letter is intended to make you aware that some 2007 model year Saturn Outlook vehicles may develop a power steering pump wear condition that can cause an intermittent drop of power steering hydraulic pressure that will cause reduced or loss of steering assist. The vehicle may revert to manual steering which requires greater driver effort, particularly at low vehicle speeds. I took the vehicle to the dealership in December. They were unable to look at the vehicle because I did not have an appointment. I took the vehicle back yesterday. At first the service representative tried to tell me that the letter was more of "if you want to buy a warranty". I informed him that the steering wheel has been making a 'whirring' sound and to inspect it. Of course they called within an hour to state that the power steering pump was bad. The vehicle also needed to have the rack and pinion replaced, front struts replaced, and a wheel alignment. The cost to me was $1800. All of this is a result of a defective gm product. This should be covered by them. Shame on gm. I am aware that there is a gm recall on the 2009 and newer traverse, acadia, and enclave models. The Saturn models should be included in this too.
Driving home from the store when entering a dangerous intersection my transmission gave out. Luckily I had enough speed to make it through the intersection and was able to drive home. Upon taking my vehicle to two different repair shops, I was told I would need a new transmission. The wave plate shattered and pieces were now in my transmission. I called gm to get some financial assistance since my vehicle had such low mileage. I was told there was no recall. After speaking to the owner of the transmission shop and doing some online investigating, it appears that I am not the only one who had a problem with the wave plate in their Saturn Outlook or gm acadia. I feel the wave plate is defective and that a recall should be put in place so no one else gets hurt from their transmission giving out on them.
I stopped and parked at macdonald. To grap a coffee. After ireturned, vehicle would not start. I towed vehicle to king Buick gm llc, gm authorized dealership in gaithersburg, maryland 20882. Dealer concluded that timing chain is intact and some metal parts broke. He recommended to rplace the engine at a cost of $7700. Gm had additional protection for timing chain issues for Saturn Outlook xr 2007 model up to 10years from the vehicle placed in service or 120,000 miles. My vehicle had only 75654 miles and eight years in service. Gm dealership declined to honor the gm warranty. I took my vehicle to another mechanic, he opened the engine and saw timing chain was in-fact broke and it caused for vehicle to lost compression. I paid $4700 for the repairs. I am filing a reimbursement claim with gm.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated and the gear would not shift, which prevented the vehicle from moving. The dealer stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. No repairs were made and the manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 81,000. Updated 04/13/lj.
While turning across 2 oncoming lanes into a shopping center in my 2007 Saturn Outlook, I suddenly had no power to the wheels. No power in drive or reverse. Luckily, no oncoming vehicles. Towed to dealership who advised transmission was destroyed. Cost to replace- $3950, and transmission is on back-order. Vehicle is still at dealership waiting for parts as of 07/06/14. Outlook was purchased new and has been serviced regularly. It has only been driven by my wife and I and has never been used to tow. Research has shown this to be too common of a safety problem for a vehicle with 58,000 miles.
Vehicle has just over 82000 miles on it. Transmission started shifting hard. 4 days later, driving on the interstate the vehicle suddenly lunged and the rpm's went way up. The car would no longer shift and will not shift into reverse. After much research we have pages hundreds and hundreds of people with the same issues. There is premature wear of the internal transmission parts. Why hasn't this been recalled?.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the wave plate needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently to 30 mph without warning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the failure was contributed to a fractured wave plate, in which the fragments caused severe damage to the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.
The day of the purchase (12/2012) of the vehicle, the engine light came on. I contacted the dealership who I purchased the vehicle from (kia dealership) and was informed the truck was probably low on gas. The following day, I called and physically visited the dealership and was told they could not help me. For me to seek GMC. . During my visit with ed morse GMC in tampa, a diagnostic was performed and tons of recalls populated which they were pleasant enough in fixing. Nothing was done about the engine light as they were unable to locate the problem. On Feb 15, 2014, I headed on the interstate to drop of my son and the truck jerked. I had to immediately make my way three lanes to pull over bc the truck started to shut down. Once I pulled over, it didn't want to go into drive. I waited approximately 30-45 minutes, turned on the car, put it on drive and nothing. I then placed it in neutral and it began to drive, I placed it in drive and it began to reverse. I was able to make it home after almost a 2 hours? drive at 25-30 mph because it would not go any faster than that. Days after, the truck seemed fine. I took it again to ed morse GMC in tampa who informed many codes populated (again) but was in history. The mechanic stated to come back in two weeks to have it retested. Documents were provided to me. Every code was part of the powertrain/ transmission. I didn't get the chance to bring it back as scheduled because a few days after; Feb 22, I headed for drill (nation guard) and the truck started to shut down where a semi almost reared me to death. Thankfully he swerved and I had to immediately merge onto the grass. I waited a few minutes not knowing what to do because I was so angry and nervous that I return home to get my wife's car. Upon my return home on the 23rd, I went to crank up the truck and nothing. The vehicle is now disabled and sits in my driveway.
While driving on the freeway, my check engine light went on. I pulled off the freeway and the car went into "limp home" mode. I was able to restart the car out of limp mode and drove to a repair shop. A gm certified repair facility determined that the transmission was damaged due to a failed 35r wave plate. This is a common problem with 2007 and 2008 Outlooks, GMC acadias, and Buick enclaves. This problem as been referenced under NHTSA case number [xxx] and bulletin 09-07-30-012. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Vehicle wouldn't go into park although the gear shift was in park. The piece under the hood could be moved to knock it out of gear even when the car was turned off which is a dangerous safety hazard. The dealership said it was the shift cable that needed replacing. There was a previous recall in a 2009 Saturn Outlook ( recall # 09041) but the 2007 Outlook was not included which is the vehicle I have. I called gm and told about the problem and they would not do anything about it even though it is an on going safety problem!.
Service passenger air bag warning light has been coming on for about 6 months now. Took it dealer but they said it was not covered. On oct 11, 2013 while driving on the highway at about 65 mph the transmission just gave out. Car started slowing down and was not able to keep speed up. Was able to pull off the road. Got towed to certified dealership (motor city) in bakersfield and was told that my Saturn Outlook 2007 needed a new transmission.
Car is bucking between 3rd and 4th gear. Sent it to dealer to be diagnosed. Could be wave plate problem that is common on this model car.
During the car being serviced they did a service bulletin on the car that was to reprogram the ecm computer in the car for a timing chain issue. After the service the gas mileage went down and noticed the change oil calculator went down faster. Not a big deal I change my oil at 5,000 miles with synthetic blend. Wife too car and after shopping the car would not start. Found out that the timing chain snapped and broke numerous pieces in the engine. Found out after taking to the mechanic that the reprogram actual allowed more stretch in the timing chain then the factory setting. So feel like they were trying to push the issue out past the warranty period. Never was told at dealer what the reprogram did or they were having issues with the timing chain. Nothing in manual stating to change timing chain at any point. Found out after the problem happened and gm basically says it my fault I should have changed the oil more. This could become a safety issue if you are on the highway and this happens.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to respond to acceleration attempts and when shifted into reverse, it would not engage. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the mechanic stated that the transmission had to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 146,000.
2007 Saturn Outlook with approximately 35670 miles on it suddenly began to jerk while driving down the street with 2 small children in the vehicle. I pulled over into a store parking space and was unable to shift into reverse to move the car. Had to be pushed out so that I could forward. GMC dealer discovered it was a broken 3. 5r wave plate. After doing research I've discovered this exact problem is more widespread than gm is letting on (links below). Gm is still not willing to acknowledge the extent of this problem which is affecting the Saturn Outlook, the GMC acadia and possibly other gm vehicles. Note: gm did cover the majority of the cost for this after 3 weeks of "negotiation" however, I believe this issue should be looked at for recall potential. . Read more...
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle began to jerk continuously without warning. The vehicle failed to operate in reverse but the contact was able to resume in drive. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the transmission wave plate was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 34,752.
We had just left clear springs recreation area in mississippi and were heading west on hwy 84 as we slowed down to get ready to turn onto south hwy 33 the car suddenly jerked, downshifted and then the engine rpm's spiked. So drastic was our decrease in speed that cars behind us making the same turn were swerving to avoid us and each other. As we made the turn slowly as we didn't know at first what was going everything seemed to go back to normal, however as we began to accelerate the car would not shift out of 3rd and we could not above 35 mph without risking the engine due to high rpms. We then made a very slow drive home. After reading up on various forums I discovered that this is a known issue with the gm lambda models and forums and they have had a fix out for it for some time. The forums are littered with stories very similar to ours. Gm needs to recall this and get it fixed before something terrible happens to an unsuspecting family like ours.
Transmission issue. Erratic shifting, bucking, surging, down shifting to lower gear, hesitation, high engine sounds because tranny totally disengaged itself, no reverse, will not shift back up to higher or normal gear. I had bought the car used and two months later tranny issues began. I researched this issue for three hours the night my tranny broke down. I was absolutely amazed at how many other people experienced the exact same issues I had. ( thousands ). I researched the gm site, edmonds site just googled it and I could spend days proving that gm has a defective transmission and they are defrauding the public to cover their own ass. That and this only proves that gm has a major problem with this type of transmission and they are ignoring it. What is it going to take, an accident where someone or someone's child was hurt or killed. When my car started bucking and hesitating, the first placed I looked was in my rearview mirror to make sure no one was going to slam into the rear. Sure enough there was and it was a close call. Then when she passed me, she waved her hands in the air and gave me the finger. I`m not kidding. I`m only glad this was on a slower street than a highway cause it may have turned into something worse. This is a gm part that is being proven by numerous owners of the Outlook, acadia, enclave and traverse to be defective in design and quality. My research has proven to me also that between 35000 and 80000 miles, these trannys will breakdown. Hopefully, if and when the breakdown occurs, no one will get hurt. In closing, I am on a mission now to get gm to recall and have them correct this problem with their transmission, accept their responsibility and to stop ripping off the public.
When attempting to leave the grocery store and placing the vehicle in reverse nothing happened. It was then placed back into park and reverse again and again nothing happened. The third time this was done it went into reverse with no problem. When driving anything below 40 mph. The vehicle would shift very hard. It would jerk and almost act as though it was in neutral the rpm's would jump before going to the next gear. I took it into the dealership to have it looked at only to hear back from them that it was in fact the transmission and it would cost me about 5,000. 00 to replace it. I had purchased this vehicle about 6 months prior to this incident.
My wife was driving down the highway when all of sudden when she hit the gas pedal there was no response, just a jerk and no engine response. She had to coast off the side of the road and let the car come to a resting stop. When she did that she tried to push the gas pedal again and the car had little to no response and the gear grind-ed. She put the car in reverse and the car wouldn't go in reverse at all. Tried putting the care in drive again and the car wouldn't respond or move forward, she ended up stuck on the side of the road and had to call for a toe. After doing a quick research online it seems this problem is very common with the Outlook, traverse, acadia and other models just like it. Hopefully this will end up becoming a recall problem as loosing your ability to drive and steer when going down the road is very dangerous, I'm just glad my wife wasn't on a major highway driving at a higher speed. Hopefully it won't take a major crash of fatality before this becomes recognized as a safety hazard.
Vehicle shifted hard and shuddered. The wave plate and planetary gears had failed after only 95k miles needing a new transmission. While it thankfully didn't cause an accident, it had the potential to. It definitely felt unsafe and shouldn't have failed this soon.
