Air Bag Problems of Saturn Outlook - part 2

My right head light goes out, I have changed the bulbs too many times and the harness. My stability track comes on and I can loose power the first time I was traveling out of town on the highway, and by grace of god I was able to pull over. This car is becoming a nightmare and I think we should be given some kind of compensation. . . Please fix these issues. . . This is an ongoing problem for the last 3yrs.

Inflatable restraint passenger presence system stopped working.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp illuminated for a malfunction error indicating to service the air bag. The contact mentioned that the front passenger side warning lamp for the air bag intermittently kept going from off to on as the failure progressed. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 07v062000 (air bags). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.

About every 5 min beping sound would sound and dashboard stated,service air bag,service brakes/stabalizer & would cutoff cruse control. Headlights very dim at night.

Bought this piece of crap car out of desperation from a pay as you go rip off car "dealership" who told me nothing about this cars faults and it's done nothing but bite me in the ass since then. Leaks like a stuck pig, causing water to pool at the floor mats, when its cole the inside of the windshield frosts. Headlights will both shut off while driving, battery died so I charged it then the radio went haywire. Opened up the battery terminal to find my battery was encased in ice due to the leaky sunroof, the battery was sparking and smoking. Windows won't go down all of a sudden. I can't wait to get rid of this car. Never again. So dangerous it's ridiculous.

I am not involved in an accident. However, my seat belt (driver side) light has gone on and the dic states to check the air bags. I find the NHTSA has a recall on this problem, yet Saturn, and the dealership shows no recall. The number shown is 14v118000 which shows this vehicle. I do not wish to continue to drive this vehicle, yet can't afford an estimated $600 tab to have it fixed. Where do I go from here to find authorization to have this recall (yet not shown) fixed?.

Good morning. I would like to file a complaint against the gm dealers in lexington, kentucky. I received my letter stating that the gm dealers' service departments in my area has received the parts for my recall. I contacted rod hatfield Chevrolet on new circle rd by email to set up an appointment over a month ago (6/27/14). I set up a Saturday appointment and then was contacted by the email representative [xxx]. He contacted me by email stating they did not have the parts for my recall and I would be contacted when the parts arrive. I still have not heard from the dealership and my "service air bag" light has been on for three weeks. I also sent email to glenn Nissan/automall on richmond road) where I purchased my vehicle) about the recall parts over two weeks ago. As of today I still have not received an email, phone call, nothing in reference to the recall parts or my email from their online website. What will happen if my air bags deploy while I am driving and my passenger in the front seats or in case of an accident? the recall states if this light should activate, then I need to take my vehicle to a gm dealer right away. What should I do since neither of the two dealerships have contacted me? please send me suggestions of other gm service departments that should have the recall parts so that I may take my vehicle to them ASAP. My dashboard light has been indicating that the passenger side seat airbag was off. I had the dealership check to see if it was under recall as I had found reference to there being a recall in February of 2007 (a month prior to our purchase) indicating we could get false readings and our computer needed to be reset. The dealership informed us that it isn't covered under recall and it is the under the seat modulator unit that is defective. I am seeing hundreds of similar complaints registered on various sites. I now can't have anyone sit in my passenger seat as it is a $700 repair that is beyond our means. The 2008 Saturn is under recall for this very issue, why wasn't the 2007 included?.

My Outlook was involved in a front end accident. The airbags should have deployed but didn't. There was lots of smoke, smell and powder as if they had gone off but never did. This was after the supposed airbag recall had been fixed. I've had nothing but trouble with this vehicle in the 3 short months I have owned it!!.

I had been noticing the service air bag notification on my dash board. Didn't think anything of it. Brought it into hawthorne, NJ Chevrolet and they took out the seats and tested the connections and charged me for this service. About 2-3 wks later, the same notice came up on my dash board. Brought it back into hawthorne chevy and they did whatever and said they didn't find anything and didn't charge me. I kept asking if there was a recall and every time the answer was no. It is now August and the same service air bag notification has popped up again. I will be bringing it back into chevy to see what they can do.

My air bag service light came on display awhile back and I was told that gm would issue a recall but since I didn't hear from them I decided to call them and they kept giving me the run around. I told them of my concerns and for the safety of me and my family while driving in this Outlook but it didn't seem to matter to them. They were non-nonchalantly treating my problems as if it were not important to them and that it was my problem and that I should have fixed it myself. (he was being real sharp with me) so much that I could tell it was going to end up with me receiving no help from him and the company. I wish that they would own up to their mistakes and fix whats obligated to them. General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Buick enclave and GMC acadia and 2009-2013 Chevrolet traverse and 2008-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles. In the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the driver and passenger seat mounted side impact air bag (siab) wiring harnesses may result in the siab and seat belt pretensioners not deploying in the event of a crash. Consequence: failure of the side impact air bags and seat belt pretensioners to deploy in a crash increase the risk of injury to the driver and front seat occupant.

Roof leaks from sunroof /moonroof. Everytime it rains my 2007 Saturn Outlook roof leaks. The water travels into the pillars and where the air bags are stored in the columns. I am not sure if this will effect air bag operation or deployment. Leaks into the glove box and behind dashboard as well as into the rear passenger / storage area. The floors are saturated and the vehicle smells of mold. Random dashboard lights come on periodically.

I was struck causing an accident that completely damaged the right front and right side quarter panel. All components had to be replaced as they could not be repaired. No air bags deployed. My 89 year old mother who was a passenger in the front struck her head on the right window door. She would have hit the dash if she wasnt wearing a seat belt. I contacted gm and was told that my vehicle was not included in the recalls. The dealer charged me 97. 47 to check it and found that the passenger presence module was bad and it would cost me $827. 00+ for repair.

Thought this was a good deal just purchased on 11/4/13. With a 100,000 mile warranty. Yeah right have had nothing but trouble since I drove it. And they told me they fixed all the problems. Today is the 13th they told me to take it out of town on my planned trip and see how it does. The farther we drove the worse the transmission kept slipping. So on the 12th I took it back in and the service dept. Told me they are limited on what they can fix on a used car even under warranty. And my airbag service light came on and they couldn't fix that told me I would have to take it to another dealership and they could fix that out of my pocket cost. Something needs to be done with these vehicles before somebody gets seriously hurt! somebody please help me what can I do. .

Driving down the highway at 60mph when car slowed down to 10-15mph. Had to place my emergency lights on in order not to get hit by passing vehicles and move to the emergency lane. I had to turn off the car in order for the accelerator to work again. After the first incident the vehicle kept on stalling. Took the vehicle to the dealer and it turns out its the throttle body that's malfunctioning. The warranty I purchased does not cover this type of part, I don't even have a year with this vehicle. In doing my research I find out that there has been an investigation on this vehicle on foresaid problem around the time I purchased the vehicle. The investigation is still opened. Investigation number pe13-003. The Ford dealership is charging me close to $700 in order to get this part fixed. They did not provide this information to me I had to look it up my self. They also did not provide me with a renter car I had to purchase one on my own. Its just unfair.

Service airbag message began appearing and the passenger airbag off light came on. Dealership reset it but eventually the message returned and the light came back on. Dealership did further diagnosis and determined that the passenger presence system needs to be replaced. Apparently this is a known safety defect based on the numerous other incidents of failure noted on this message board.

Was driving on hwy. At 60 mph when engine began to rev and then when I came to stoplight and took off, the car would not go over 30 mph. And would jerk and then as I continued to try to get speed because of others behind me-it would not go. Had to drive 30 mph for two hours to get only 40 miles. Transmission needs to be replaced and gm is not standing behind their product. This is a hazard and there are sooo many complaints with problems just like this and no recall yet-really-so will one be made when someone is killed in an accident. Also when this began I had a 1/2 tank of gas, when I got to dealership-2 hours later-the car was on e!!!!!!!! horrible gas mileage on this too now. Passenger airbag says needs to be serviced-was like this when we purchased and dealer said they would fix-never did and this is a safety concern because it means the passenger is not safe in this vehicle, but then again, none of us are because of gm-am going to begin process with small claims court regarding all of these issues. Horrible vehicle and gm should be ashamed-no wonder I always bought non american made cars-shame on us for thinking gm would be good since it was made in USA.

My 2007 Saturn Outlook continuously leaks water from the roof every time it rains. The leaking water is not one drip here and there, but a gush of water will come out of these areas and will continue to leak while it is raining. The water will drain out of the headliner, the airbag areas, the light fixtures, the seat belt areas all in the front and back of the car and will also drench the passenger and driver side floor boards. This has caused my car to have a musty moldy smell to it. I find it very discerning that after you purchase a vehicle, it will have these safety issues such as water leaking. I understand that these things happen, but I am afraid that this will cause a shortage with the wiring systems in my vehicle thus causing even more damage. Since the water started leaking from the roof, I have had airbag issues and windshield wiper issues (it runs constantly). I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

2008 Saturn Outlook, water leak through seal on dash. Shorted out fuse panel allowing the car to run with key turned off and losing function of passenger air bag control. Multiple complaints of this defect in the manufacturing of vehicle. Consumer cost $1300. 00.

I have had my the children in the car when the service stabilitrac warning came on causing jerking in heavy city traffic and wouldn't allow me to go. Had it towed and the mechanic said the entire timing component was bad, this was a chevy dealership. Next I was traveling on a freeway with my children approaching an officer at the scene of a wreck my car revved very high and wouldn't shift anymore. . . . Not only with an officer at a accident but also reduced to one lane traffic due to construction. When this happened it nearly caused a collision. I had to attempt to coast to the side of the road. Mechanic said transmission needed to be rebuilt. I have spoke to Saturn and informed then of all my issues. . . Evenafter transmission repairs my car continues to jerk and stall in traffic to the point I was almost t boned by a semi!! I have had my fill of my children at risk from a poorly built car! my passenger airbag won't even kick on and is having problems. All my problems started at 50,000 miles!! my sun roof was leading and I had water gushing down my pillars had to pay for that to be serviced as well!.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000 and the current mileage was 75,000.

The contact owned a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The contact stated that the vehicle was destroyed but none of the air bags deployed. There was a police report filed and there were no injuries. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. I noticed my Outlook leaking water 3 mos. After I bought it. The airbags on passenger side stopped working. The car would not shut off in the garage. The dealer states its a leak that has allowed water to ruin the electronics all over the vehicle. This is a problem all over the internet. No one can fix it. They have 7 tech bulletins. . . Still no fix. The dealership wants 1500. 00 to "start" looking into the problem. Please help me! I can't drive a moldy car with intermittent airbags and possible power steering malfunction with my kids in the car! this will bankrupt me. What do I do?? no one online has found a solution. . . Just 1000's of dollars and scary situations on the road (defrost blowers breaking, losing power steering, engine quitting, water dumping on their laps). Please make them recall this or help us fix it!.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Outlook. The contact was driving 40 mph when water leaked from both sides of the front air bags. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted but the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 94,000 and the current mileage was 101,000. Updated 04/13/12.

Prompted to send this complaint after the recent Suzuki air bag recall: the "service air bag" (sir, front passenger air bag) prompt appears on the dash frequently and then disappearing or until we get notification from our onstar monthly diagnostic report that the condition requires our attention. This problem occurred shortly after purchasing the vehicle in 2011 (purchased certified used), which we assumed had been corrected (history code b0021 od) but continues to this very day. We advised the dealer after subsequent and frequent service calls and were finally told by the dealer, after the dealer consulted with the factory, that this condition can be rectified at a cost of approximately $1,500. 00 since the vehicle was now outside the warranty. I wrote to gm to bring to their attention that this was not a mechanical issue but a safety issue and was told that they would not consider a no charge fix until we paid for a diagnostic service of the air bag system. I also informed the gm representative that apparently this air bag system defect is not an isolated one since I found numerous complaints regarding the sir alert on several Saturn blogs off the internet. I can't believe how a manufacturer could totally ignore a safety issue that has the potential for injury or death if there is a failure of the air bag to deploy or even deploy accidentally.

Front air bag ip lamp is intermittent and will often show off event though there is a 190 lb. Passenger in the passenger seat. Recycling the key, having passenger enter/exit vehicle results in random state. I. E. Sometimes the light is on and will go off at random times and other times is will simply remain off even with someone in the seat. Dealer finds nothing wrong since there is no dtc set but the vehicle is unsafe as you never know if the front air bag will really deploy in an accident.

2 complaints about the Outlook. . . First, the airbag. We have had it fixed 5 times! the dealer re-routed it, put it back, replaced wiring, but to no avail. And it appears again that it needs to be serviced. This problem has been going on for over a year. Then 2nd the driver's side low light beam went out. . . . Replaced bulb three times and it didn't hold a charge for about a few days each. Gm definitely need to look at these problems. I am very frustrated that a car that just goes out of warranty has problems that need major fixing.

2007 Saturn Outlook airbag saftey light failure in passenger.

Our 2007 Saturn Outlook experienced complete system failure -ie everything turned off while driving - more than once. After many trips, some by tow truck, to the dealership service department, gm finally resolved the issue by replacing the car's computer. This was after several near death experiences driving the car and suddenly being without brakes or steering. Now the car leaks, filling the floor mats with water, splashing the driver with water at every change of speed. The seatbelts have black mold, and starting last week, the car isnt starting, likely due to water in the electrical system. We believe the water coming out of the air bag holes may prevent the air bags from functioning properly in a crash. We are not alone with these problems. Please see ' Saturn leaking sunroof' forum on edmunds. Com for many more customer complaints just like ours. We have been in touch with gm but expect to be told to 'go to the dealer'. . Again. The chevy dealer we use does not know how to resolve the issue, despite it being a widespread problem with this car (also the other makes of this same model). We do not believe the car is safe. This car was a lemon from the start, but nothing has been done about it.

We have had problems starting from a few months after purchase. Fast forward to Jan 2012 we had a major leak inside the car. Water making a "swishing" sound overhead from water storing in the headliner. Water was coming from air bags, shade covers, below the glove box, and inside the windows. Had a major leak in passenger floor. The air hasn't worked since sept. And makes a loud "hissing" sound, instrument panel just disappears, drivers side headlight goes on and off. Gm won't do anything. Took to dealer and paid $640 to fix headliner leak, but reading other posts it's a matter of time before it will leak again. All other issues still not working and all due to water leaking in. This is so scary and frustrating that nothing has been done about this. Lots of complaints for the same issues all over edmonds. Com and other sites. We can't afford to fix all this, or get rid of the car. And who would buy it with all the issues?? please help all us owners!!.
