Electrical system affected . Some dash panel lights not working & airbag light staying on.
Tried to have the car inspected and they told me it wouldn't pass inspection because of my airbag light on . They did a diagnostic and it said my passenger seat would need to be replaced or get the sensor for the part. Unfortunately the don't make the pieces for the car anymore . You have to go to a junk yard , but even they haven't had any any of the pieces.
Passenger air bag indicator on dash board continues to say no when passenger is in seat. If passenger heated seat is turned, heated seat does not work but air bag indicator on dash board says on when passenger is in seat. Situation is constant whether vehicle is moving or stationary.
Takata recall. My airbag light has been randomly going on and off. Some days I will turn my car on and it will stay on for awhile and then I will turn off and start back up and it will be off.
While driving home from a vacation trip we noticed the passenger seat belt light was brightly lit as on. At the same time I noticed the bright light indicator was showing to be on. After a while both lights turned off. In a short while, both lights appeared on again. Later, it happened again. I then took the headlights off of"always on" and the bright light indicator went out but the passenger seat belt light stayed on. When I turned the headlights back on the bright light indicator came back on. The odometer just turned over to the 40k mark. The vehicle doesn't get that much driving. Since we are currently dealing with airbag issues, based on the takata recall, we are very nervous of what we might be dealing with on the Saturn Vue.
Takata recall. My airbag light has been on consistently for the past few months. Came on one day I got in the car to leave for work it went off and came back on several days later and has been on ever since. I reached out to Saturn to be told there is no recall on this issue, even though I have seen several complaints online about it. I was told I needed to set and appointment to have it looked at, which would cost $100 just to look at it. I have noticed people online paying over $1000 to have the light issue repaired to have the same issue again. Now I cannot pass inspection because of the indicator staying on.
I was driving and a truck stopped in front of me very quickly I didn't have time to stop. I hit the back end of the truck. Which had the tailgate lowered . The tail gate went through the whole front end of my car . Completely totaling my car . As a result my leg was pinned I suffered a concussion and whiplash as I hit my head on the staring wheel . My airbags didn't deploy driver or passenger side . The indicator light on the dash said the air bag was off for passenger side . I had a passenger in the car and neither air bag came out causing serious damage to my head and neck.
I have the same problem!!!! sometimes the passenger airbag will not turn on and the light on the dash says the airbag is off when a person is sitting there. I found that if you unbuckle your seat bealt and get out and back into the seat it sometimes resets the light. Several people have posted the same unsafe condition. See-- "about 6 months ago the air bag indicator light for the passenger side started to become inconsistent in its on/off stages. We thought it was just the age of the car, but Saturn is no longer in existence, so we felt there wasn't much we could do. After reading some of the recent complaints about the 2006 Vue (on this site), we felt it necessary to advise that we also have similar experiences with the air bag indicator light for passenger side. " don't know if the airbag will work?.
I started my car and as usual the airbag light flashed like it always does. However, the airbag light remained lit up, but the passenger airbag light never lit up as being "on" even though there was a passenger in the seat. I read up on the matter and saw that a lot of Saturn Vue's have had this problem and that it could be electrical and very costly. However, a recall has never been issued even though the manual clearly states that it could be an "electrical" issue and to have the matter taken care of "immediately!" how is it safe for a company to sell a car knowing full well that there could be and have been reported cases of issues with the airbags. The manual went on to say that it could result in the airbag deploying on its own without even being in an accident! so what I'm gathering is that instead of fixing a problem by issuing a recall the company would rather have people driving their cars, quite possibly on an expressway that has a speed limit of 65 mph and with family or friends in the car, have the airbag deploy on its own and cause an accident: which in turn can turn into a trial suing the company costing them more money than it would to fix the issue! seeing as this is my only vehicle and that I don't have the cash to shell out to fix this and that it's an ongoing problem with this vehicle, I think the company needs to issue a recall and have it fixed or face a lawsuit by many unsatisfied customers.

Passenger seat sensor defective. Indicator light says air bag is off even when occupied by an adult. When seat-belt is unbuckled, does not indicate passenger is unbuckled as programmed. Able to clear problem by unbuckling, raising up out of seat, forcibly sitting down, and re-buckling.
For second time within a year the airbag fault indicator has come on.
The airbag indicator lights for both driver and passenger sides stay on most of the time, but are off sometimes. I obtained the error code from my onstar service, it is b0092. A google search returned hundreds of the similar complains about gm vehicles. I would like to raise your attention to this safety related design problem from gm.
Passenger air bag light shows that it's not active when there's someone in the seat and the air bag problem indicator light stays lit. This is an $800-$1,000 fix and there are numerous complaints. Feel this should be rolled into the new re-call that was issued this week for the same issue! (already replaced the master control module for the electronics this past fall because everything started to fail!).
Last year my airbag light kept coming on and finally stayed on all the time. The sensor for the passenger seat does not work properly. It does not indicate if someone is in the seat or not. We took it to our mechanic and he advised that we would have to replace the entire seat ( I have heated seats). This is very costly and I cannot afford it. I am concerned that the airbag will not function properly when necessary. I am also concerned that if this is caused by a short somewhere, my heated seat may catch fire. I do not use the heat for this reason. Recently we are experiencing a key ignition problem. My husbands key, in particular, does not turn correctly. This is of concern to me because I am afraid that one day it will just lock up and not start. I do not want to be stranded on the road somewhere. I have been receiving messages from my onstar that there is a problem with the airbag. I hope these problems will be addressed by gm. I have seen similar complaints on this website and felt I should take action.
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue with ignition and airbag sensing and diagnostic module (sdm) issues. I have checked online at the gm recall website, called my dealer twice and filed a claim at the gm recall hotline. I am frustrated with the lack of or slow response to this problem and I do not understand why our model year was left out of the recall cycle. My situation: my ignition became increasing tight/stiff/locked to where I could not turn my key or pull it out. I would have to shake the car or key to get it to turn on. My key can slide right out of the ignition while the car is running, (but sometimes I can't pull it out). I have also returned to my car and found it running twice now and noticed it was not totally in the off position anymore). At the same time my airbag indicator light became intermittent and finally stayed on. Our mechanic notified us that the airbag sensing and diagnotic module (sdm) is no longer working. A dangerous safety issue. The dealers say that parts are not currently available for my model and my mechanic can not find them either. The cost is ridiculously high! I have now been on a mission to put in complaints with the appropriate divisions in an effort to see this situation resolved. (note this website list several complaints similar to mine and others. . Passenger side seat triggers the airbag light to come on. Does this mean that the airbags no longer work?.
The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the front passenger side air bag indicator did not illuminate while there was an occupant present. The failure occurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the front passenger side air bag senor and seat heating element would need to be replaced. The part was ordered and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The failure mileage and VIN were unavailable.
I own a 2006 Vue with heated seats. The airbag indicator light for the drivers side stays on at all times. I took it to a mechanic, and after a few days of diagnostics, he was perplexed. He took it to a certified gm dealership, and they told him the airbag system would need to be replaced. They did not tell him the reason, nor did they associate the problem with the seat warmer. They evaded further probing, and claim no responsibility, as "there is no system recall or report of defect". After reading through the hundreds of similar complaints, I believe there must be a defect. . . . . Or, I guess it is just a "coincidence" that several of the owners had this "freak" occurrence. Perhaps the costs of potential lawsuits over safety violations is less costly than performing a recall??.
The airbag light on the driver's side came on when driving at a speed of approximately 50 mph. It stayed on after driving about 15 miles then went off, and then came back on again and stayed on for several more miles. This was the first incident. Now, each time that I drive the car, the airbag light comes on and stays on longer. It seems to go off when I hit a bump and/or turn the wheel, but then comes back on again. I checked into having it fixed, and it could cost as much as $1200 to fix it. I was told the original system that was installed is faulty and that many Saturn Vue's 2006 have this same exact problem. I contacted Saturn and they said that since there has not been a recall, they won't cover the cost to install a new one. This is definitely a safety issue, when the driver's airbag is not working! since there have been so many complaints about the airbag systems in the Saturn Vue, why hasn't Saturn issued a recall? aren't our airbags supposed to last for the life the car or until there is a crash making it deploy? right now if I am in a crash, my airbag won't deploy and the reason it won't deploy is that the original system is faulty.
Air bag light keeps coming on intermittently and when check it showed the third row left side impact sensor. This is the second time that I have had issues with the air bag system. I just want to know why a recall hasn't been issued if this is common with all Saturn?s. This is putting my family and me at risk. Gm needs to step up and fix this issue.
The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that the air bag light constantly illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the illumination of the air bag light indicated that the air bag was not functioning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for a diagnostic test, but the dealer did not inform the contact what the cause of failure was or if any repairs were necessary. The failure mileage was 100,000.
The airbag light comes on intermittently. My Saturn repair center says there is a problem in the wiring in the passenger seat. The problem is interrelated to the passenger heating system and the passenger presence sensing system. I am having the problem fixed. I am finding out that this problem is being reported by others. Saturn should be held responsible for fixing this problem so that it cannot recur in the future at their expense. It is obvioulsy an engineering flaw that is putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. I have reported this problem to general motors and they have taken no action.
Passenger airbag light causes the airbag dash light to come on. Even if someone is sitting in the passenger seat, the system doesn't always read that there is someone there and the sensor will not turn on the airbag on the passenger side. When airbag is off, the idiot light on the dash comes on. When it does read someone is sitting there, the sensor turns the airbag on and the idiot light goes out in the dash. Don't know if the airbag is going to work in the event of an accident. Seems to be a big problem with these vehicles. Gm don't you think you should pay to fix your mistakes?.
Air bag indicator light for passenger seat comes on and off intermittently. Dealer says the first thing that has to be fixed is the seat heater element in passenger seat because it sets a code for the passenger side airbag. That is a cost of $300 plus and does not even fix any possible issue with the airbag. Don't know if there is an issue with the airbag for sure until seat element repaired.
2006 Saturn Vue passenger airbag sensor indicates off intermittently when adult is seated. Also, the passenger heated seat inoperable. Airbag indicator on main dash illuminated when passenger light is off or during absence of passenger. Diagnosis code of b0092 presented and dealer recommends replacement of airbag sensor and seat cushion.
2006 Saturn Vue. Front passenger air bag indicator light will not come on even with a heavy person. I was informed it was the seat warmer. Bad design! will cost $900. 00 to fix.
The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. Tl the contact was driving 65 mph and noticed that the air bag alert signal was illuminated. The contact stated that the air bag light for the passenger side air bag would not illuminate, indicating that the air bag was turned off. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where unknown repairs were made to the vehicle. After the repairs, the failure recurred once the seat heater was activated. The vehicle was not further repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that she would need to return to an authorized dealer for diagnosis of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,500.
2006 Saturn view, light for driver's side airbag on nearly 100% of time. Previously only noted issue during wet conditions but now is permanent problem. Also have noted that the passenger side airbag light will blink from on to off with or without a passenger in the seat.
Ever since I purchased the car, the air bags have been a problem. They were replaced in 2008 by the dealer. Well, air bag light indicator is on again. It's a problem with the heated seats on the passenger side and air bag indicator. If I turn the heated seat on passenger side on, the view minutes later the air bag light indicator goes off. Once I turn off the heated seat, the air bag light comes back on. It pretty stupid to run the heated seat in the summer time, but that's what I have to do to keep my family safe. None of the air bags will work unless I use the heated seat. I believe a recall should be considered on this before somebody ends up killed because of the air bags, if they have not already. I am also afraid that constant continued use of the heated seat will cause a fire.
