About 8 months ago my check engine light came on so I took it to a dealership to have the code read. They told me it was the evaporative emissions system. It sounded serious so I said just fix it. $600 later my car was running great with no problems. About a week ago my check engine light came on for the same reason. Dealership wont fix it again and basically told me they have done all they can do. They dont know what it is. Everytime I fill my gas tank my car takes about 10 minutes to start again and it struggles. Lots of sputtering and most of the time it starts then dies. Ive been told I wasn't the cause and its probably just a faulty gas cap so I replaced that and the light is still on after having it cleared. Their other explanation was its a Saturn so expect problems. I was not happy to hear that. They replaced the purge valve, vent valve, checked for leaks and everything. There is no reason it should be messed up again especially this soon after replacement. Other than that my car runs great after 4 years of owning and driving it all over the state.

Brought my 2007 Saturn Vue to repair a powerful gasoline smell around the rear of car, near gas cap. Said it would cost $332 to lift out fuel tank to see where the problem was. 4 hours later, mechanic said the tank was drenched with gasoline because the lines to the fuel pump were crimped and cracked so there was gasoline leaking out. (wonder why I was refueling so often?) I need a new fuel pump costs $600. I'll be sure to use my 10% off coupon. The worst part was no engine lght ever came on to warn me!!!! also within the last 10 months, I have had the battery replaced, 2 new lift gates, brakes and new tires. I have always been good about oil changes/maintenance but I guess new cars are only supposed to last 10 years. Bummer!.

Noticed a fuel leak around tank filler area. Replaced fuel cap but did not help. Noticeable fuel odor. Vehicle is hard to start when sitting for an extended period (longer than 6 hours). Mechanic determined that leak was around fuel pump. Was informed of recall involving other similar 2007 gm vehicles, but not the Saturn Vue, although the Vue has same type of fuel pump. Vehicles currently involved in the recall include the Saturn ion, Chevrolet equinox, and pontiac torrent.
While vehicle was parked overnight, the next day the consumer noticed a fuel puddle under the vehicle. Had taken vehicle to dealership. Mechanic noticed the fuel lines had a hole in them and had to replaced them. Please provide further information.
