Driver side mirror vibrates very badly at speeds of about 50mph and up making it difficult to see what is in the mirror. This was dangerous. I pulled off the mirror and glued foam behind it and it now vibrates less and I can see out of the mirror better but it still vibrates and distorts the mirror's image.

My vehicle’s windshield developed an approximately 4-inch crack starting at the base of the glass without any impact point. There is no visible sign of damage or debris strike anywhere near the crack. The crack appeared suddenly and has since extended across the entire height of the windshield. Because the crack originated without any impact, it appears to be a defect in the windshield itself.
I was under the vehicle changing the oil and heard a loud bang. I investigated the sound and didn't notice anything. After completion of the oil change I got into the driver seat and noticed my rear view mirror was hanging by the wires. It had come loose from the windshield taking a big chunk of glass out of the windshield. It left a gash approximately almost 3/4 of an inch deep by 1. 5 inches long by about 3/4 of an inch wide. This seriously degrades the strength and puts any occupants at risk. The windshield can not be repaired and will have to be replaced. Cost of replacement is approximately $413. 58.

I hit the guard rail going 35 mph on an exit ramp because of the low visibility because of the safety recall. I went to get the recall fixed when I found out and they refused to fix the recall because my bumper is messed up.

I have not had an accident yet. I bought this vehicle in may and recently drove it at night. This vehicle is a nighmare!!!! the led steering responsive headlights are absolutely horrible and you cannot drive this vehicle at night using the low beams. If you are on a completely level road, you'll be ok. If you are on a road with at least a slight dip in the road, these headlights face downward in front of you about 30 yards out max. That means you cannot see anything beyond where the beam hits the road. You would have to drive with high beams on constantly and this is an absolute safety hazard to my family and other vehicles and pedestrians. This problem goes back to 2017 and has been recalled up to 2019. There is not a fix for it and why they still installed these lights till today is beyond comprehension. I literally purchased a vehicle that my wife or I cannot drive. All you have to do is google this problem and you'll read a vast amount of complaints from people who have these headlights. Why are you not doing anything to correct this? I ask that somebody help us!! I took my vehicle back to the dealer and all they did was adjust the headlights 6 inches which is comical. You can come and drive my car at night if you think I'm just blowing smoke. Please tell me what you are going to do and don't tell me I have to have an accident first before you will act on this.
While car was parked. Front windshield developed crack in the lower mid section of windshield. There was no damage to windshield that would have resulted in cracking. Crack has since spread.

Windshield breaks (cracks) very easily. I have owned/driven cars for 45 years, during the first 41 years I have only had to replace one (1) windshield. Since I have owned this vehicle (Subaru), I am now onto windshield number five (5). Are they making these windows with inferior materials or thinner? I hate to think that an inferior window will not hold up or perform as designed in a major accident, possibly causing greater injury or death.
A crack in the windshield appeared one day with no apparent reason.
I am logging a complaint regarding my Subaru Impreza 2017 windshield. I bought new in 2017, and it currently has only about 55k miles. The windshield is completely covered (literally thousands) of tiny pinpoint chips. At certain times of day (usually sunset) the glare that this causes is so bad that visibility is very poor and driving is almost scary. I contacted the dealership and they said they haven’t heard of this issue. I drive regular roads and with this low of a mileage, I shouldn’t be having to think about replacing my windshield. I’ve driven cars with triple the mileage and windshields don’t look like this.
Over the course of 3 days, my vehicle has sustained 4 chips in the windshield from standard city street driving. The windshield now needs to be replaced from excessive cracks.
This is my first car and im completely disappointed I purchased it bc of safety. My car battery keeps dying I purchased my car in 2019 and since then I have changed it 4 times. I keep taking it to the dealer and telling them is a parasitic drainage and nothing yet. On top of that the recall for the headlights over a year and nothing. Im never buying a Subaru again!.
While driving on sept 11 on i95 a pebble flew up off the roadway and hit my windshield on the left hand side (driver's side) and it immediately began to crack horizontally and went to the middle of the car. If the car is outside in sun/heat the windshield keeps cracking further across the windshield and is now reaching the passenger side of the car. This is a real safety issue. Called glass repair company and the first appointment they could provide was not until sept 19th.
Windshield cowl continues to buckle from windshield causing a gap where water can get to engine compartment. Have had it replaced twice now with no resolution. Being that I live in a state with very cold winters if water gets under the gap and then freezes it could potentially crack windshield. This needs to be addressed.
A spontaneous crack appeared in the windshield running from the bottom left, near the deicer, into the middle (when looking at the car from the outside). No accident was involved; it just appeared in the morning. Subaru is saying this isn't covered under warranty. . Read more...
Was sitting in car preparing to leave. Car was in park and turned on. Heard a loud popping/creaking noise. Looked up and the front windshield cracked in several places.
Frequent windshield cracking which obscures visibility. Third time windshield has cracked and needs to be replaced. It has been chipped and repaired twice as well.
I was stopped at a stop light. Traffic was basically at a stand still while the lights were changing. During this time my windshield spontaneously cracked on the lower center section of the glass. It cracked for seemingly no reason at all. Since traffic was stopped there's no way it could have been caused by a rock or flying debris. No weather (such as hail) was occurring at the time.
There is a 15 inch crack in my windshield that was not there yesterday. It seemingly formed over night for absolutely no reason. Just driving 15 mins to work, it spread about 4 inches! I have a toddler and have to work. If I hadn't noticed it initially way in the corner, it could have brought in the entire windshield while driving with my child in the car. The crack seems to have formed at the very edge between the frame and glass near the windshield wiper. Will be calling insurance next, but this seems to have happened for no reason at all which is very concerning.
Have had low visibility at night since purchase in 2018. Thought it was just the bulbs until receiving a recall notice that it is a manufactured issue and there is still no remedy. Very low night visibility is a serious safety risk to myself and other drivers when having to operate after dark. It has been over 5 months and Subaru has still failed to make a remedy available to resolve problem.

Windshield cracked spontaneously at the middle base of the windshield in a perfect arch. Crack appears to be on the inside of the glass. No impacts or anything hit the windshield, no reason for this to happen. My car is parked in a garage. Called Subaru, they insist there is no recall.

The windshield on this vehicle is defective. Over time for no reason scratches have appeared. Additionally now chips have occurred for no apparent reason. I have gently used an ice scraper as needed after defrosting the windshield enough to make it practical, however, my scraper is in excellent condition and was not misused. This should not cause a windshield to break down. There are also waves in the windshield that make for an uneven appearance in spots.
Plastic parts of side mirror melt easily by heat and sunlight. (not only side mirror, but also other components with the same plastic parts) it bothers driver visibility and safety when driving highway. The problem was reviewed by Subaru service center, and they said it is not their problems. Subaru service center said they saw few cases but they said it is customers fault. Service center said customer needs to park in the shade or safe place.

Front windshield spontaneous cracking from defroster area in a "j" shape. This is the second windshield since new to do this (2021 model). Available for inspection. The first windshield was inspected and replaced by Subaru at their cost minus eyesight recalibration (adas). First windshield was inspected by insurance and no impact point was found and was notified to contact dealer before filing a claim with insurance. The second cracked windshield is in the same area as the first with exactly the same shape and abruptness. Cracked while car was sitting over night. Temps at 6 am were 37 degress. Temps at time of crack were 60 degrees. Car is equipped with eyesight that is affected by the crack once it grows into the eyesight camera view.
Small chip in windshield was in for sealing/repair. After the tech tried to fix it, the chip grew into an incredibly large crack. The tech shared that this happened with nearly no pressure being applied to to windshield. He reported this is a common issue with our vehicle's model and year. Safety is obviously compromised if the windshield is so easily destroyed in a way that requires replacement.
I was driving at 50 mph, suddenly heard a noise coming from the windshield and saw a big crack on passenger side of the windshield. The crack grew very fast, crossing about 75 of the windshield. The two parts of the glass on the side of the crack became separated. The visibility through the windshield was impaired by the crack. This is the second time it happens to the Subaru windshield in a short time. The first time I replaced it by the original Subaru windshield and it cracked again.
Subaru has failed to repair the halogen headlight safety recall in a timely manner. This recall was first announced on August 16th, 2022. It has been 9 months and the remedy for the safety recall has not yet been made available.
Recall still has no fix over a year later.
Headlights recall from 8/2022 still has no remedy available. Nhtsa recall number22v624000.
Windshield cracked while parked.
Windshield suddenly cracked on the freeway not due to rocks or anything, and has since spread dramatically. Visibility is affected as the sun will glisten throughout driving and all of the cracks almost to the point it’s shattered obstruct view and cause objects to appear the a slightly different area. Subaru has apparently known about this for years and they haven’t remedied it, in addition the offer a protection plan for windshield when you buy it new, but they’ll only replace 2 of them, and every subsequent windshield is subject to the same problem.
My car was parked outside on the street and when I went to drive it the next morning the windshield had a foot long crack in it. There is no obvious point of collision--it looks like it just split. I will need to replace the windshield for around $1300 since the crack is so large.
A pebble hit my windshield and now there's a crack from the bottom all the way to the other side.
While stopped at a light. My windshield cracked from the bottom to middle of the glass. No point of entry.
I own a 2020 Impreza hatchback with 18k miles. A significant crack appeared in the windshield out of nowhere, literally while parked in a safe environment. I was advised by Subaru corporate and my local dealership that this is not covered by warranty and would have to make a claim with my insurance. I can provide pictures and further detailed information if so required.
While parked at a roadside rest for the night I heard a sound similar to cracking but didn’t think anything of it. The next day when the sun came up I noticed the windshield was cracking and had a few chips in it. The chips were not the cause of the cracking and came along the cracks but we’re not centrally located to the cracks meaning they were caused by the windshield cracking. The night before the defrost was on cold because it had been raining and it was warm outside. I immediately took photos. I have been unable to repair the windshield considering it costs over 1000. 00 and my insurance doesn’t cover defects in the quality of parts used on the vehicle.
