Headed home from a vet appointment in mountain home. Was driving on the freeway at 80mph when the tire blew at the wendell exit. Checked the tire to find that the inside wall had failed and had a blowout. The tire was installed June 8th 2025 and had less than 1,000 miles on it. I have never in 26 years of being around vehicles had a brand new tire fail in less than 1,000 miles. Tire was a good year reliant all season 195/65/r15. That tire blowout could have killed me and my family. I stopped at the walmart that I bought the tire from with the receipt and was told "OH that sucks. We can replace it for you if you want to buy a new one a full price. " how can a company sell a tire from a brand like good year that isn't even covered for a 1,000 miles? that's absolutely mind blowing. Had anyone gotten injured from the accident I would filling charges against walmart for selling me a faulty tire.

The first tire had an air bubble and I brought it in. They said it was a manufacturer error. In September 2023 I had a blowout and Subaru declared that it was a manufacturer defect. I asked him to check all the tires and they kept the original set on. This month a third tire from the original set blew while being driven. Three tires out of four have had manufacturer defects.

After my 2019 Subaru Legacy 2. 5i limited sat outside on a level blacktop parking lot for one week (05-03-23 to 05-10-23) without moving, both passenger side tires were discovered completely deflated. The tires were goodyear eagle LS-2 size 225/50r18 95h (front passenger dot m678 jr2r 1819 and rear passenger dot m678 jr2r 1719). The tires were original to the car when purchased new by myself at jenkins Subaru in bridgeport wv on 09-23-19 with 26 miles on the odometer. The tires had 32,515 miles on them and were rotated 6 times. Sever dry rot on the tires sidewalls was the reason given by the goodyear technician, goodyear service center, 149 green bag rd, morgantown, wv, 304296-1748, for complete deflation. It was also recommended that the remaining divers side tires be replaced as they were also displaying sidewall dry rot (front drivers dot m678 jr2r 1719 and rear drivers dot m678 jr2r 1819). All four tires were replaced with new goodyear eagle ls2 tires (2 on 05-10-23 and 2 on 05-12-23).

Michelin defender tires; all 4 tires are dry rotting where the tread meets the casing and belts . Degradation of the tires over a little over 2 years is extremely premature considering these tires are advertised to give 90,000 miles and we probably only put on around 8,000 miles a year . We live in the pittsburgh, PA area where they use several different ice melting chemicals including rock salt that can enter the large cracks in the rubber and eat away at it . I'm afraid to take the car on long trips using interstate highways at high speed for fear of the tread separating from the casing of the tire . What's ironic is that looking on-line there are many other people also complaining about michelin tires dry rotting prematurely . I have several excellent close-up pictures that I can email upon request .

Vee rubber vitron tires purchased new 12/23/2011. One tires steel belt separated, popped through the tire in two places on 09/07/2013. Tire has less than 5k miles on it. Two service stations (pep boys, and vince's auto in reseda, CA) inspected the tire and advised it is a defective tire. Neither could advise of any scenario to justify what happened. Vince's auto is replacing the defective tire for "no charge"; however, there are 3 remaining tires. This is very dangerous and I believe you should investigate. I'm surprised there is no mention of veerubber nor vitron on your dropdown list for recall search. Tires are vee rubber vitron 195/60 r15 88h dot 6msj 4910. Please help. I just bought a used 2005 Subaru Legacy gt. 20 minutes after purchasing the vehicle I was driving along a snowy highway and accelerated just after a set of lights. The rear end of the car felt very loose and the car squirreled after gaining control and accelerating to keep traffic moving the rear end squirreled out and I was unable to regain control. The car spun 180 and slammed into the snow bank sideways. It has the stock potenza 205-45-17's I have never lost control of a vehicle in my life like that 2wd or 4wd. Damage to the vehicle was minor the drivers side doors are both crinkled at the bottoms and part of the shroud underneath was broken off. Plan is to replace tires ASAP shame on Subaru putting out a winter vehicle with poor performance tires. Vehicle and stock tires have 36000kms.
Blow out with complete detachment of tire tread from wheel at 50 mph; car crashed into stone wall; air bags deployed; fire in forward part of engine compartment put out by fire company; fire company comment that looked like tire failure; tires had only ~2000 miles on them; no injuries; only one car involved; police filed a report; car is a total loss; I have the tire tread which detached from the wheel and is a complete, single circular piece; about 1 inch of tire rubber remained attached to each rim of the wheel.
The tread of this tire separated from the tire while driving. The tire had approximately 45,000 miles of use. The tread warranty was for 60,000 miles. The retailer would not take corrective action. I was told that continental would not do anything because the tread was worn, despite the fact that I had 15,000 miles left on the tread warranty. The retailer also informed me that they no longer carried this tire.

Rear passenger side bridgestone potenza re950 205/55r16 91 h blew out for no apparent reason. Mileage on tire was 25000. No crash or injury. Must replace tire prematurely since tread wear was good.
Standard equipped tires on Subaru Legacy 2. 5 wagons are bridgestone potenza re92 215/45/zr 17, supposedly an all year tire. This tire size does not appear in the drop down menu on the tire page, thus the tire indicated on that page is incorrect. The tire in question is the re 92 215/45/zr 17. These tires are dangerous on wet pavements and impossible to control on snow. They should not be sold in the northern us. I've had countless incidents trying to control the car in low speed stopping and in low to moderate speed turning in light to moderate snow conditions. I purchased a 4 wheel drive vehicle because of the snow conditions in upstate NY. Instead I have a car with tires that cannot handle even moderate winter conditions. These tires will ultimately result in someones injury and/or death.
The tires do not function, and hold traction during inclement weather, causing the vehicle to lose control. Manufacturer was contacted. Owner stated that vehicle was all wheel drive and brand new. The cause is undetermined at this time.
Vehicle: 05 Subaru gt limited sedan (purchased) 11/30/04) tire: bridgestone, potenza re92 (215/45 zr17. My wife and I skidded as we approached a stop sign on a level, snow covered road. I broke gradually and my speed was low, about 10 mph as I started braking). Instead of stopping, the car just kept going even though I applied more brake pressure. If there had been a car ahead of us, I would have rearended it. I discovered very negative reviews of this tire on the folllowing 2 customer survey bases: tirerack. Com and 1010tires. Com. The majority of customers rated this tire as poor for wet traction and very poor (dangerous was used in some reviews) for snow traction. I have case #s w/soa & bridgestone. They and the dealer have refused my request to credit my oe tires for new ones. Many customers (Ave of 2. 6 out of 10) answered no when asked would you buy this tire again. I am very concerned that there is a safety issue with the re92 for wet traction, especially snow traction. Considering that Subaru awd vehicles built a reputation as a car that will be sure-footed in inclement weather, why would soa equip this car w/tires having a 160 tread rating? tire dealers I've spoken to about this issue say that this tire is the equivalent of a summer tire. Soa should rephrase their slogan for cars w/re92s from the wheel that slips to the tire that slips.
All four tires were replaced 3 times within 35,000 miles due to premature wear. The tires were replaced with different model tires, but failure recurred.
Bridgestone potenza 205/60r15----the tire went flat while turning a corner with no prior warning--this tire was not repairable & was replaced----second incident occured with 17944 miles on the car however it was the new tire on the same wheel-right rear--it blewout with only 2058 miles on the tire--there was no warning--it blewout, shredded & made black smoke while driving 70mph.
Tire failed under highway speed for no apparent reason. The tire did explode. The tire dealer inspected the other three tires while still on the vehicle ,and found no apparent defects. (dot number: obt2pfb tiresize: p205/55r16).

The tire is tubeless. Traveling at an estimated 50 mph the tire side wall separated from the tread. If I lost a front tire I would have had an accident. (dot number: 8m15794-7 tiresize: p22560r16).
No summary listed for above vehicle.
The original firestone wilderness tire failed and shredded while driving.
Right front tire was pulling car to the right. Dealer also said to keep tires inflated 5psi above manufacturer's specifications. Car shakes at 55mph in warm weather but does not occur in colder weather. (dot number: bm19359-1 tiresize: p225/60r16).
No summary( dot number: tire size: 16 ).

Car has pulled to the right since purchase. Purchased vehicle late sept. , 1998. Ac did not work very well, but weather was cool and it was not a pressing issue. The following spring/summer, took in for repairs to dealer in evansville. Ac still worked intermittently. Accident 5/19/99 where I rear-ended a van at approx. 20 mph. , airbags did not deploy. Ac still only working intermittently. On 9/17/99, after driving the car approximately 25 miles at 65 mph, I noticed the temp gauge was above the "h" and pulled over. The car died and never restarted. Overheated to the extent that after engine died, smoke billowed out the exhaust/tail pipe and over 3 hours after the car was shut off, radiator fluid still boiled over when added. Dealer unable to provide explanation for overheating or ac problems. Subaru regional representative has refused to return my calls for questions about the repairs.

Bridgestone tires have an air leakage (185-70r-14). Mjs.
Problems with vehicle's braking system, rear tire, whistling noises coming from door and oil leak. The dealership repaired everything except the wheel. The rear hatch was adjusted for whistling noises, and the brakes were dusted off to repair the brake system. The oil filter was replaced and the seat bolts were tightened to eliminated the seats from moving while driving.
