1 Instrument Cluster/panel problem of the 2025 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 12/24/2024

The contact owns a 2025 Subaru Outback. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the "door and window open" message was displayed. The information screen indicated that the driver monitoring system and eyesight were disabled. While driving, the low tire message was displayed. The contact attempted to inflate the tire. A good samaritan attempted to assist with the tire. The contact was able to continue driving to the destination. The contact stated that the app failed to provide the notifications. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. There were no fault codes retrieved. The dealer disabled the system. The dealer then informed the contact that the tire needed to be replaced; however, it was determined that the tire was okay as-is. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 1,999.

2 Instrument Cluster/panel problem of the 2019 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 09/05/2023

The contact owns a 2019 Subaru Outback. The contact stated while driving, the vehicles entertainment system randomly restarted without warning, froze and became unresponsive. The system was uncontrollable, it transitioned from one program to another on its own. The entertainment system affected eyesight warnings, rear back up camera, and the navigation. No warning lights was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

3 Instrument Cluster/panel problem of the 2020 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

The contact owns a 2020 Subaru Outback. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the contact heard a minor ding on the windshield. The ding was a small pebble that hit the windshield which caused a crack to form from the driver’s side to the passenger’s side of the windshield. The crack obstructed his vision while driving. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the windshield was replaced out of pocket. Eight months later, the same failure occurred again while driving, at the exact spot on the replacement windshield. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and denied knowing any information about failures with windshields in similar vehicles. The contact also stated that several electrical failures had occurred in the vehicle such as the infotainment screen and eyesight system not operating as designed. The contact made an appointment with the same dealer however, the vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
