1 O2 Sensor problem of the 2014 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 07/12/2019

While driving locally the indicator lights on the dashboard started flashing (cruise control, check engine and brake lights). Parked car, checked gas cap and disconnected battery and cleaned terminals, problem continued. Took the car to our local auto mechanic (after some not so pleasant dealings with Subaru) 7/22/19 he performed computer diagnostic and found faulty oxygen sensor. $601. 38. Car worked well until today. Returning home from store the lights are flashing again back to the mechanic. 18,000 miles on the car!.

2 O2 Sensor problem of the 2013 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 04/26/2019

While driving my Subaru Outback 2013 2. 5i premium model, brake light, cruise control, check engine light started flashing in the dashboard. Took it to a dealer and I was told that it was body valve failure inside transmission. It was fixed (Subaru paid $1,500 and I contributed $300 for the repair) by a Subaru dealer. Yet, ten days later the same three lights went on. The dealer said it was different problems, catalytic converter and O2 sensors, quoted $1,800. Left the dealer without fixing the problems. It seems that my car was not the only one with this type of electrical problem. I saw the exactly same complaints posted by other user in virginia (refer to NHTSA id number: 11204834).

3 O2 Sensor problem of the 2012 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 04/13/2011

While driving with cruise control engaged, suddenly the cruise control disengaged, the brake warning light and the abs warning light came on. The required repair was only the forward oxygen sensor, a non-emergency repair. Yet cruise control and abs were disabled, abs being an important safety feature. I was told Subaru has purposely programed the car this way. Not only was I unable to make a decision as to the critical nature of the actual repair but had an important safety feature disabled unnecessarily.
