1 Sway Bar problem of the 2005 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 09/15/2019

On any wet or snowy pavement car is ghost walking, like the rear end has marbles under it. Speed of 35 mph, straight driving, on wet pavement. Like a cat walking on its nails. Terrified. Had alignment, new tires, new rear struts, sway bar, transmission wiring harness. Disabled abs so at least I control braking.

2 Sway Bar problem of the 2006 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 11/25/2014

While driving vehicle in snow covered, slush covered roads conditions varied during day. The vehicle kept feeling like it was washing out side to side. I had 5 passengers in vehicle and they all could feel it and it scared them and I had to slow down to a dangerously slow speed on interstate, that was causing disruption to traffic flow. On way home took secondary roads so as to not disrupt traffic. This was my first experience in taking this vehicle for drive in snow conditions since it is new to me. We purposely took Subaru for legendary handling in snow, it downright shook me up and wished we had our front wheel drive pontiac vibe. I inspected vehicle, made some changes to front suspension, ball joints, sway bar links, control arm bushings, only two control arm bushings were notably bad all other parts changed because I was there. Both tie rods were good. I have since experienced same issue when encountering patches of black ice, snow covered roads as well as driving on gravel roads. I have never experienced a car handling like this in my 35 years of driving! this vehicle is downright dangerous!!! and too think I bought this to be my winter vehicle.

3 Sway Bar problem of the 2010 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 11/05/2010

About two months after purchasing my 2010 2. 5i Outback with the cvt I noticed a sway on the highway when traveling around 80 mph. The car feels to drift from side to side (almost snake like) when driving straight. I asked the local service department if they were aware of any issues and they said no, but would take a look. They found nothing to be incorrect yet the car continues to sway at higher speeds. It feels as if it would benefit from an upgraded front and rear sway bar to tie the lengthier vehicle together a bit more. I would purchase these myself but don't want to void the lease warranty and really feel that Subaru should provide and install these for free since multiple people seem to have the same or similar issue.

4 Sway Bar problem of the 2005 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 10/22/2009

I drive a 2005 Subaru Outback xt limited and have experienced the rear sway, unstable conditions that many other people seem to be experiencing. I have done much research on the problem and have found that Subaru's rear sway bar and alignment specs. To be unmatched for the longer wheel-base and the weight of the vehicle. After the replacement of the rear sway bar to a heavier duty one and a better alignment my Outback now drives outstanding and handles like a dream. I am a spirited driver and I drive in all weather conditions including ice and snow and have had no problems since the upgrades.

5 Sway Bar problem of the 2000 Subaru Outback

Failure Date: 10/24/2002

While driving on a smooth dirt road, heard a clunk under the car. Stopped and looked under it only to find the sway bar broke in the middle of the bar. End links and other parts fine. The thick sway bar designed to be strong broke. Must investigate. Dt.
