1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 05/26/2017

The transmission range sensor has gone out on the vehicle. I have spoken to many other owners Suzuki vehicles and they to are having to replace transmission range sensors. Dealer service centers acknowledge that this part breaks often and they keep extra in stock. This issue will begin with causing vehicles to shift rough and end with vehicles not being able to shift out of or into park. The airbag and seat belt light will not go off. We have been told that it is the cushion sensor and will cost $1500 to replace. Again, after speaking with other Suzuki car owners, they too have had to deal with this issue. Suzuki issued a recall for this issue for some vehicles but not vehicles that have been impacted have been recalled and owners are being charged to replace this defective part. Suzuki has been made aware of these issues by other owners and have covered repair costs for a few, but have chosen not to issue a recall for all affected vehicles.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 10/14/2014

Bought vehicle approx 1 1/2yrs ago. It had about 26,000 miles. It now has approx 34,500 ad still has the Suzuki warranty. I just had to replace a transmission rang senor and now being told codes b1382, b114, b1102, b1103, b1405 came on and needs replacement of diagnositc module and passenger airbags!! I feel this should be under warranty since this is a huge safety issue! I am told it will cost $1400. 00 and the airbags won't deploy until I get work done! I simply cannot afford this!!! this "sensor module" seems defective to me if all these problems keep arising. Also the tire pressure sensor will not turn off since time of purchase.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 03/28/2014

The air bag sensor turned on and wouldn't turn off. There was no accident or reason for the sensor to turn on. Took it to the dealership and had to have the sensor system replaced. Contacted the Suzuki customer service and was not given any information why the sensor would suddenly fail other than that it was no longer under warranty and so they were not responsible. The car was recalled in 2012 for electrical issues due to the headlights.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 06/04/2013

We just bought this car in August 2012. Since then my seat belt button turned on and took it to the Suzuki dealer and they fixed it. Also the passenger air bag also and they fixed it. Then took it to the dealer to get the oil changed and they said I had a radiator leak ( I wonder how true was that sometimes) repaired it and it cost $400. . . . Now when I was driving the car check engine light turned on and now it was the gas cap that needed to be replaced!!! wth so we replaced that part. Now after we fix that, guess what also starts happening the car just starts to slow down and again check engine light turns on!!! we take it to get a diagnosis and it gives us p0705 p0700 and that now is the transmission range sensor!!! this is crazy!! hopefully nothing else will go wrong. . . . . I feel that Suzuki should have a recall on this transmission range sensor especially. . As I see. . . Many people are going through this and people should be compensated for the money that we all have wasted and frustration we are all going through. . . . Suzuki needs to fix this problem. . .

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 10/01/2011

The transmission range sensor went out the first time last year. Started to show an "x" over the gear when you shifted, it would kick, and it would not allow you to over 35mph even with your foot on the gas. We replaced the sensor in oct of 2011. It is now April 2012 and the sensor has gone out again. The air bag sensor light is constantly on. The dealership states that wire keeps getting shorted because of the location under the seat.

Failure Date: 12/06/2010

My check engine light came on and was put on machine and got a po700 and po705 which required a sensor which should not have been on a brand new car. From my understanding there have been a lot of problems with this and I don't understand why a recall has not been done on this because my warranty did not cover this do to not being inside the transmission due to Suzuki's rules.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 02/12/2009

Purchased the car on 2/12/2009. Upon use, I found the vehicles passenger airbag sensor to be defective. Only passengers of 140+ pounds or so consistently trigger the sensor, which activates the airbag. For passengers who weigh less than 140 lbs, the airbag sensor is not triggered, thus the passenger airbag does not activate. I had three separate people from 100lb to 120lb sit in the car and the airbag did not activate for any of the three passengers. The owners manual states that the sensor should be triggered by a passenger weighing 54 lb or more. I have gone to the Suzuki dealership 2 times, made multiple calls to Suzuki national, and applied for mediation through a Suzuki sponsored program (which went nowhere). Suzuki did not properly inspect the vehicle (180lb mechanic said since it works for him, its not defective), they no ignore my phone calls and said it is not broken and they will not repair or replace the sensor. My car is a significant safety risk to passengers. I have also found multiple people online, with the same car and problem, who also are receiving rude service from Suzuki and have not had their problem repaired either. Suzuki needs to repair this defective component or issue a recall. My car is unusable, and my next step is to go to court to attempt to recover the money I spent on this vehicle.

14 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 09/01/2007

From what I understand, the Suzuki Forenza's airbag sensor (I have a 2005 Suzuki Forenza) is under the cup holder and faults out easily due to condensation from beverages. Mine just went out for the 3rd time in 2 years. I contacted Suzuki, and they said I would have to pay for the repair since the vehicle has 50,000 miles and is out of the "bumper-to-bumper" warranty period. My airbag light on the dash stays on all the time now, indicating a problem. After web research, I found out this is very common, yet there is no recall. This is obviously safety related.

I'm fed up and any help in this matter would be appreciated thank you angela young.

16 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 02/03/2007

On Feb 3, 2007, I had a automobile accident. The accident resulted in my car being totaled. It had extensive front end damage, and the air bag sensors were exposed, but the airbags never deployed. I wasn't injured bad enough to seek medical attention, but could have been, as a result of the airbags not deploying. My insurance adjuster told me that there was no reason for the bags to not work, because the sensors were exposed, and I had hit many trees with the radiator resting on the motor. My adjuster gave me his name and number for contact if I needed for anyone to contact him. My car is now totaled, and I have no transportation, because the Suzuki company will not stand by their products. This is a safety feature, and should have been in working order, as it was a new car.

One month later, while driving approximately 30 mph, the contact was involved in a crash. The air bags failed to deploy. Two passengers were injured. 22 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 12/22/2005

Have a 2005 Suzuki Forenza. Bought it June of 2005. For the time that I had the car it had little problems at times. Bought the car with 5 miles on it. Suzuki dealerships only look at your car by appointment only and when they do look at it they claim nothing was found. The car hesitates and downshifts hard at times. In the morning the car has hard starts when cold. The exhaust makes noise and transmission does too. The claims are that it is a characteristic of that car and normal. Recently I almost got hit by a truck at an intersection because the car stalled while trying to cross the intersection from a stop sign. The gas pedal had to be pressed to the floor to move and it did it slowly. From a stop the engine would rev but the car would not move. Also airbag light does not work properly. Suzuki makes it hard to have your car service and claim warranty work. That includes roadside assistance too. When car was delivered back to me after I dropped it off they claim that nothing was found. Maybe it was the gas cap they said. The problem happens too much too be a loose gas cap. I had to get upset for them to look at my car. Many problems for a new car.

25 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Suzuki Forenza

The airbag sensor for the passenger air bag was not working properly. According to the handbook, any child under 54 pounds the air bag sensor light should come on. Yesterday the child was seating in the front passenger seat and the light did not come on, and today the light came on which showed that the air bag was off. Has not been to the dealer for repairs. 28 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2004 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 10/26/2004

I am not sure if this is really a defect or not, but my airbags did not deploy upon impact. My car was legally parked on the street when it was totaled by a drunk driver going 70 mph in a head-on collision. Some have told me that they did not deploy because the key was not in the ignition, but others (including the body shop owner) claim that I had a faulty airbag sensor on my car. If this is a defect, I want the Suzuki manufacturer to know about it so that no one will get hurt. If not, just disregard this message. I feel strongly that this could have been a manufacturing glitch. My new car had many assembly line glitches when I bought it new in July of this year. For instance, the brake light would constantly switch on and off even when my foot was nowhere near the brake or if the car was parked and turned off. Also, a few days after the purchase of this vehicle, the alignment was so bad that I almost flew off the freeway into a concrete guard rail. These problems were all safety issues. They bothered me so much that I doubt I will ever buy another Suzuki again.
