About every 3 to 4 months the airbag light goes off. This has been going on for over 4 years. The wiring under the passenger seat has to be redone and the airbag light reset. Is a safety hazard as at this point who knows if the airbag would deploy in an accident.

The vehicle has suffered from an intermittent airbag light for the past 10k miles but at 110k miles the light has come on and will not go off. I have attempted some of the Suzuki owners recommendations of disconnecting and then reconnecting the connectors under the seats to no avail. This appears to be a very common issue with the Forenza's and certainly a safety one.
While driving the air bag light was flashing and then it stay on its been on now for three days now.
Was traveling at a rate approximately 35 miles per hour vehicle in from of me stop abruptly. I hit them. Driver side fender, hood, bumper all smashed. In area where airbag sensor is, it should have deployed. Car has been totaled. We too had issue with the flashing passenger airbag light took it to dealer they could not fix said it was temperamental on how you sit is seat.
Air bag light stays on since 07-2014 approx. 55,000 miles on car at that time. Dealer says that there is not a recall and Suzuki will not cover under warrenty, but they will be happy to take my money. There is a service bulletin # ts050115b. Its a safety issue that a lot of people are having.

I have owned this car since 2007. The airbag light on the dash keeps turning on. Every time I take it to the dealer he said that there is no problems with the airbags and that the scanner is not picking up the code. He resets the system and the light goes off and every fee months I have to take it back to do the reset and im paying $55 for each reset at least 3-4 times a year since I got this car. Also the dealer told me that o have to dk these resets because everytime the light turns on it means that the airbags are disabled l and it is a safety issue. So I take it regularly every few months to reset it. This has to be a recall through Suzuki because it is a problem.
The contact owns a 2008 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated that while starting the ignition, the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously until the engine was turned off. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. There was a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 13v405000 (air bags) that pertained to model years 2006-2011 and sx4 vehicles. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
My airbag light is on is there a recall on airbags?.
Slips out of gear while driving, car stalls and cuts off during driving, only cranks up in neutral, air bag light stays on, check engine light go off after a repair then lights back up. Its frustrating to have to call road side assistance for a battery charge frequently when battery loses charge for no apparent reason.
I purchased this car used from carmax in October. Since then it has been in the shop 3 times for airbag lights. The airbag light has now been on for 2 months and I have not had time do get it fixed. The airbag light has been on since I purchased it, the seatbelt light also comes on frequently. This concerns me because the cars safety is so poor- with airbag system being deactivated and seatbelts being out of whack, this car is a death trap! I went to carmax to see if they could help me and the manager wouldn't even take my name.
I bought a used 2006 Forenza sedan and a few days later, the transmission range sensor went out. I just researched and there are several complaints about this issue. Also, the airbag light turned on. Suzuki need to own up to this problem and fix it. Also the 02 sensor went and needs replacement. What is going on.
Air bag light on since bought car in 2006. Wiring for airbags has been replaced once still an issue at owner expense. Outlet and lighter stop working year after car was bought. Headlight wiring replace twice and day lights still only comes on some times.
The airbag light seems to be on it just turned on without a reason, meaning that while I have a passenger they are not safe in the car because the air bag wont deploy in case of a car accident, yesterday Sunday March ,26 I went to the grocery store and when I came back I put the car in reverse and it slammed really hard, the shift display had a light through it, and I had heard about people having the same problem, now this problem has been reported for the past 5 years since the vehicle was for sale, transmission range sensor, so right after the grocery store took it in to the mechanic for a 373,00 repair , now paying its not a matter but this vehicle is not even at half of its life and this problem its absurd, no airbag, transmission shifting crazy jeopardizing passengers in the vehicle. Please help, please make Suzuki pay for their mistake at the manufacturing/ assembly and faulty products if their cars are not safe they should not be sold at all or they should be liable for their faulty vehicle parts . . Help help help!!!! please.
I bought this car used at 98000 miles in 2011 and since then I have had airbag light staying on every 4-6months or so ( the drive side). . . Then I would take it in to the dealership and they would replace the censor, etc and reset it. Am really frustrated with this, there must be a faulty sensor/part of the airbag with 2006 Suzuki florenza airbag.
The contact owns a 2005 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated that the air bag light constantly illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the wiring harness failed and needed to be replaced. The contact felt that this was a manufacturer’s defect. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 78,000.
Air bag light came on in car. Had to take to dealer to reset. Wiring harness under the seat was faulty.
2006 Suzuki Forenza wagon issues so far: 63k - check engine light came on and a line through the d on the instrument panel showed up, which acts like the car is in neutral. When trying to accelerate the car has no power. If you pull over, turn the car off and restart it then the car is back to normal. It has done this 4 times now in the past 2 weeks. 60k - a couple of months ago the window washer pump went out and I had to replace it. I did it myself and it still cost me $85. Front seatbelt acts like it latches but then comes back out (this problem was recalled). 40k - the air bag light is also lit up on the car.
Air bag light continues to be illuminated on dash panel. Took to dealer to fix. Light was out for about two days then reappeared. This is a known problem and Suzuki refuses to address issue. Car is out of warranty but is a safety issue.
2006 Suzuki Forenza airbag light came on 6/2010. Cost $700 to repair driver's side airbag. 11/2010 light came back on, now dealer wants $1000 to repair passenger side airbag. If you go online, there are hundreds of complaints for the same problem. This car should be recalled and airbags repaired free of charge.
Driver's airbag was fixed 2 or 3 times under warranty, and fixed one more time after warranty expired. The airbag light is on once again.

Suzuki Forenza 2007, 42,000 miles. 1) transmission range sensor: transmission slips when in drive -- panel shows a "d" with a slash through it. After researching, have found this to be extremely common among the most well-maintained Forenzas. Unacceptable. Engine light came on and as soon as I tried to go forward ,the car would just decelerate down like 10 or 20 mph "scary" within a matter of seconds and no matter how much I pushed the pedal to accelerate to the floor but it was as if I didn't have power. 2)tire pressure light comes on every other day. 3)the front passenger air bag light comes on to show the air bag is not working even if I have a passenger seated properly in the front seat.
The front passenger air bag light comes on to show the air bag is not working even if I have a passenger seated properly in the front seat. It does not do this all the time but it happens enough to concern me and my wife. I had the same problem with a 2006 model year of the same car. We had other problems with that car as well and the dealer took it back and sold us the 2007 which has some of the same problems. This has been happening on and off since we got the car in March of 2007.
Passenger air bag light stays on when someone sits in passenger seat.
Airbag light came on in January 2010. My mechanic reset the sensor and checked out the wiring. Airbag light came back on after about 1 mouth and has no matter what we dostayed on--- additional lights come on periodically including the engine light, seatbelt and driving light. What a bunch of garbage. After looking online----there are so many people having the same problemsrecall this car for electrical and certainly airbags it is a safety issue. This car should be recalled and airbags repaired free of charge.
We own three 2005 Suzuki Forenzas. Each has had problems with either the airbag or airbag sensor. One of our vehicles currently will not pass state inspection due to the airbag light being on. This is its second problem of the same kind. One of the other vehicles has had the same problem three times. This is a serious safety concern. Suzuki has never told me if this is actually a problem with the airbag, the sensor, the harness, or something else. My concern is two-fold: (1) will I have to pay annually for a serious Suzuki defect in order to pass inspection? (2) is this a real problem? do I have a safety concern? Suzuki has never told me if this is actually a problem with the airbag, the sensor, the harness, or something else. My wife and two daughters drive these vehicles. This appears to be an engineering design problem that requires investigation.

The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. Whenever the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would not move; however, the engine would rev loudly. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the throttle assembly was not allowing any gas to enter the engine, which caused the vehicle not to run at times. The dealer stated that this was a very common issue and no recalls were issued. The contact believes that she should not be responsible for the repair and a recall should be issued. The failure mileage was 40,000 and current mileage was 55,000. Updated 05/15/09 the consumer stated the air bag light illuminated. Updated 05/18/09.
