Every neutral safety switch made for this vehicle is faulty be driving down the road it'll switch from drive to neutral or any other gear I've had it go into reverse while going 50 mph down the road I've replaced this part five times still have same problem part works for about a month then goes out. Other times transmission won't even go into drive have to screw with shifter to get it to go into gear may last for about a mile and jumps back out of gear. Next problem computer tells me throttle positioning sensor is out car works fine at first then starts to rev around 5-6k or it to rev to half a grand and stall while driving down the road.

While driving the car on the highway the light for the engine came on and the car died. After being towed it was determined that the head was blown. After replacing the engine the light remains on and now there is a problem with the transmission. There is supposed to be a defect in a sensor for the transmission that keeps these problems happening in this vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 Suzuki Forenza. While stopped at a red light, the vehicle lost power and the transmission icon illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the contact's residence. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
I bought a 2005 Suzuki Forenza. I had no idea that these cars are so hazardous. On the second day after my purchase, the car suddenly went into reverse on the highway in rush hour traffic. I was lucky enough to get it out of reverse and coast to the shoulder. I have since found out this is an ongoing defect that, and that there are many more. I also found out that Suzuki has been made aware but sits back and does nothing about it. This car has the potential of being deadly and needs to be removed from the market so that people like me aren't forced to drive something so unsafe. I can't afford the costly repairs and I can't sell this car. I am scared to death that in one of the many stalls some one is going to hit me. It should have never been on the market to start with. I am confident that if someone hasn't already been killed because of this defective car that they will be.

This is not the first time this has occurred. I had been traveling home as normal, all of a sudden the car started jerking. Look down at my gear selection viewer and it was scrambled showing a d and a r overlapping each other flashing. This happens periodically causing the car to stall in the middle of traffic. I am not the first person to have the problem with this specific model of car. The events that occurred are very dangerous for myself and my family and whomever else this is affecting.
At speed on interstate highway, the car suddenly fell out of gear, and lost speed rapidly. Dash transmission display showed scrambled gear in place of d. Car continues to experience similar incidents and does not properly change gears; occasionally displays scrambled letter in place of appropriate display (r,n,d, 3, etc. ).

Battery indicator and brake indicator illuminated on the cluster panel. When in drive, the display showing what gear you are in flashes an unrecognizable signal. Some trouble accelerating.
Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated that while pressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle would not accelerate or would hesitate to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the transmission but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 113,000. Jft.
Transmission went out after stopping at a stop light. This is the second time having transmission problems with this car.
When operating in drive position the vehicle went into neutral with loss of traction, drive power could only be restored by selecting drive position 3. There were several subsequent occurrences of the problem one of which nearly resulted in a rear end collision. A transmission repair shop diagnosed a neutral safety / transmission position switch failure. This appears to be a repeating complaint theme with this vehicle model. The occurrence is unnerving and could result in severe (potentially fatal) consequences.
I was driving on the interstate and just passed a semi truck going about 65 mph and then my car suddenly switched gears into neutral on it's own. I was able to pull over to the side of the road safely and restart the car a couple times for it to reset and go back to normal. I was on my way to the dealership when this incident occurred. There had been an issue with the park/neutral switch previously in my car but this was the first time that the gear switched while I was driving and not when I first started the car and put it into gear. That had happened frequently when I started the car and put it in drive but it said it was in neutral but then after a couple restarts it would reset and work correctly for a little while before it happened again. Once I replaced that switch I haven't been having any issues with it again so far. Now I'm just dealing with the power locks sticking and locking on their own (the guy at the dealership mentioned that problem three years ago when I bought the car but only now am I having that issue) and also the driver's seat belt not staying fastened when I first click it. It finally does after jiggling it a little bit.
Coming home from work, my transmission suddenly shifted into 3rd gear as well as my speedometer started bouncing. During this episode the cruise control began to drop out. A while later, about 2 miles, the engine lost power and I had to pull off the free way and got towed home. I googled my car situation and found that there have been numerous events as mine. Has Suzuki addressed this issue and if so, what is the fix?.
When trying to shift from park to reverse the vehicle jumped and would not accelerate out of drive. When trying to accelerate forward it took a massive amount of power to go 10 mph. The vehicle will not shift properly and the check engine light will not stay on while the problem is occurring.
I started the car. Let it idle for a minute to bring the rpm down. I tried to shift it to reverse but it would not go. It had an engine warning light on. I shifted back to park and turned the car off. I let it set for a minute then restarted it. When I shifted again, it clunked and would barely move. I shifted to drive and it clunked and would barely move. I am a single 55 year old woman. I work 2 jobs and live 8 miles out of town. I can't afford to have this car down. I bought it because of the low mileage. It only has 39000 miles.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 111,000 and the current mileage was 111,027.
The contact owns a 2005 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated when attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated to shift into gear and started to jerk. The failure persisted. The vehicle had not been inspected by a mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 103,000.
The contact owns 2004 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the speedometer provided an inaccurate reading of zero. The contact stated that the speedometer reset independently but the vehicle would not maintain speeds of over 70 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

This Suzuki needs to be recalled altogether! no one should still be driving these. Not only can the headlights or brake light sensor switchs go bad and just stop working, they overheat, drain the battery, overwork the alternator, which then needs to be replaced, the fall displays every gear all at once even while in drive and displaying a speed the vehicle is traveling. The door handles brake off, so you can not escape the death trap. They have blown head gasket, many small oil leaks, tire pressure gage problems, tires/wheels won't align, this balds the tire lop sided so tire blow outs occur more frequently. Half the tone it won't even go, now or won't start at all. Many more issues with this vehicle, buyer beware, do not buy these cars!.
I am the owner of a 2007 Suzuki Forenza. As I was getting ready to travel across a bridge when the car appear to change gears even though the shift was in drive. I immediately changed the shift to 3rd gear and slowly made my way across the bridge. Had the car inspected, I went with the mechanic on test drive and it happened again. They diagnosed the problem to be the manual level position shift sensor. Car worked fine until about a month ago, it did the same thing. Now I drive very cautiously.
The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stopped unexpectedly and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the gears shifted on their own. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 30,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Suzuki Forenza. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph when the vehicle would not accelerate as the check engine light illuminated. The contact stated the dealer was contacted and the transmission range switch was replaced, remedying the defect. The contact was unable to contact the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 100,000.
The sensor gets damaged, enabling the car to activate reverse and accelerates when placed on drive making hard pumping motor noise.
I turned on the car, when I put into reverse it clunked and the screen that usually says r just had scrambled letters going then when I put it into drive it clunked again and when I drive it like that it starts in 2nd so I have to put a lot of gas onto it then it won't switch into 3rd gear, and every time I take it to a mechanic the check engine light goes off and it works fine.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating. The vehicle was shut off and restarted ten hours later. The contact then noticed that there was a hesitation between gears. The dealer was contacted but stated that they could not diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 67,000. Kmj.
The car will not shift correctly. Displays a scrambled message on the dash information console. Dangerous almost caused me to be struck and killed by a 18 wheeler. Something must be done by this. Is a serious problem.
The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle would no longer accelerate. The check engine warning light illuminated intermittently. The failure recurred sporadically. Additionally, the contact stated that when placing the gear in reverse, the gear shifter would become jammed, causing the vehicle to jerk abnormally. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.
It started havin a shift malfunction from 3 to 4 gear and now quite often just revs up instead of going, passenger seat belt often releases on its own, and the passenger airbag is constantly on.
The contact owns a 2008 Suzuki Forenza. The contact was driving approximately 50 mph when the vehicle stalled as the contact down shifted. The engine rpm's then decreased abnormally low. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The failure mileage was 55,000.
When turning my car on and putting it into reverse, the car suddenly jerked and the check engine light came on. The "r" should appear for reverse on the dash, but all the letters ("p", "r", "d", etc) were scrambled together. The car drove in reverse and when I put it into drive, it jerked again and then would hardly accelerate. After driving it for a couple minutes, turning it off, and turning it back on, it would finally accelerate normally, but the check engine light would still be on and the gears would still jerk. The check engine light would go off after a few days and everything would be fine, but still the same problem happens again in a short term.
I was driving down the road like normal and came up to a stop light. As I was slowing down it downshifted hard and when I tried to accelerate from the stop light it took more gas than normal to pull away. I then noticed that my check engine light was on. I took my car to an auto store the next day to read the codes. It gave the codes po700 and po734. When this happened I had a loss of power and acceleration and was unable to go normal highway speeds. Also when shifting from park to reverse or from neutral to drive it shifts hard and kind of clunks into gear. The next day I tried again and it was shifting just fine, but still had the check engine light. Later that day the same problems from the previous day returned. When the second incident occurred I was trying to make it back home through a heavy snow storm. If this problem had caused me to stop on the side of the road I could have been hit due to the zero visibility. I have seen many complaints about this same problem and trouble codes and I believe something should be done about this.

Started car put it into reverse to back out, aloud "clunk" noise was maid and the car had trouble accelerating. Not it often slips into neutral while driving or will only accelerate in third.
