After noticing that the airbag light which monitors inflators, crash sensors, seat belt pretension, the front passenger sensing system, and corresponding electrical circuits stayed on after starting the car, I took it to the Suzuki dealer. After they inspected it, they told me that the problem was a sensor in the driver seat. He told me me that the sensor was inside the drivers seat and that the drivers seat with the sensor inside would cost $1,984. 42 plus labor. I contacted the Suzuki main offices in brea, CA who offered to replace the whole assembly at a cost to me for a total of $300. I don't think I should pay for that since it is a manufacturer's defect and the differences in price between the dealer and the manufacturer means that they own the responsibility. I am now driving with the sensor light on and the airbag may or may not deploy because of this. 06/.

My Suzuki Grand Vitara 2006, has error code b1312 which is a failure of the passenger seat airbag sensor. This is a major safety issue since it will not deploy any airbags in case of an accident. I have contacted Suzuki but they have been dodging this issue. I believe that Suzuki should pay for this entire repair as a safety recall. . Read more...

Low beam headlamps keep blowing every 2 months or so, bulb brand does not seem to effect longevity. It is extremely dangerous when the bulbs blow and you live out in the county where it's pitch black at night!!! and then have to switch to high beams and blind other drivers!!! just to get to a safe place to replace the bulbs. Will never own another Suzuki again and can't wait to afford to trade this death trap off!!!!!!!!!!!!! Suzuki dealer says "it is normal".
Electronic stabilizing system esp stopped working, needing serviced. Brake light always on with eps light as well. On top of a major problem with the floor boards swells and soaks with water in front right passenger and back passenger side floors, its worst when a/c is running. . . Its like a sponge when u take your hand to it.

Airbag sensor control module and seat belt light problem. The lights for the front passenger seat airbag and seatbelt are constantly on. They came on at approximately 56000 miles. I was told by Suzuki of nashville that it was possibly the sensor in the front passenger seat, but not sure. Cost of $2700 to repair. Also I was told that they do not know if the airbags will deploy or if the seat belt will catch when brakes are activitated. This is a safety issue and should be addressed by Suzuki - possible a recall would be the proper approach. Apparently the sensor module needs to be replaced, not the whole seat. It seems riduculous to charge $2700 for a front seat cushion when the car is worth approx $10,000.
Have replaced the drivers side low beam bulb at least 7 times and have changed the passenger side approximately 6 times so far even replaced with best bulb brands.

Low beam headlights frequently burn out airbag seat sensor twice changed, now it is out of warranty. Check engine light turns on frequently. Ac blows hot air suddenly. Power steering plastic tensioner may break out. Rear wheel cover impact wiil dent backdoor.
Had to constantly replace drivers side low beam headlight 6 times since I have owned this vehicle. Now both driver and passenger side do not work, bulbs are not blown, and fuses are fine. My mechanic says that it is a known problem that Suzuki refuses to acknowledge. I should not have upwards of $1200. 00 out of pocket for a known problem. I still have 2 payments to go and I bought this brand new. Something needs to be done now befoe someone gets killed because of this. Thats if it hasnt happened already.
I have been replacing the headlight bulbs in my vehicle nearly every 6 months since I purchased it. Last year I replaced the rt headlamp assembly unit at the recommendation of the service department because the housing unit was burned and would not seat properly into the adapter. Replacing the adapter was not an option, so I incurred labor and parts expenses. Now in the shorter daylight fall season, the left bulb has blown and the adapter was beginning to burn, so I replaced it. I inspected it to confirm the state of the unit and it was indeed, on its way to electrical malfunction. There is no way, when driving nor idle, to know that such an important component of the vehicle is decaying. I have purchased hl7 55watt bulbs, which are the lowest watts available. I feel unsafe during inclimate weather, fall and winter season driving. This frequent need for replacement to avoid potential crashes is of major concern to me.
Just as thousands of others have said. My 2008 Grand Vitara low beam h7 style headlights blow out constantly. Very unsafe to nearly crash when both blow at the same time driving at night. Very unsafe driving and at any given time a headlight will blow out. Not to mention telling various police over and over the problem. Not to mention tickets, warnings, and general disdain from police because they assume your lying. I now have to keep nitrite gloves and spares in my glove box and now show the police. I replace a low beam bulb on either side every 3 to 4 months. I've never heard of this as a safe and acceptable design on any motor vehicle. This would not pass as safe on anything. We the customers need this fixed. Had I known this in 2008 I would have bought something else. As of now I cannot afford to replace it. I hate having to try my best to be home before dark because a bulb is or will go out. Recall this defect now. . . . Before someone dies from a crash. When my lights blew at the same time that night I was scared to death and almost wrecked. This is not acceptable. Please help.
I have had to replace the low beam halogen 6 times (4 driver-side; 2 passenger-side) prior to 2013. Now the low beams will have had to be replaced 8 times due to both bulbs dying after rolling over 2 speed bumps in a parking lot. Nearly caused several low-speed accidents when other drivers were backing their cars out. At least the high beams and fog lights have been flawless. Repairpal: "there are many reports of low beam head light bulbs burning out prematurely. As of this writing Suzuki has not released a service bulletin addressing this issue. . . Read more...
The sensor built into the passenger seat that controls the airbag is defective. The fix is a $2000 total seat replacement. Unacceptable. The car thinks a door or hatch is open and turns the overhead light on and off all the time. Another sensor. You have to be houdini to install a bulb in the front light assembly and the bulb is held by a rinky dink clip that doesn't hold so the front lights are subject to going out. The clip won't hold the bulb in place and even the dealer has problems when your bulb burns out or many times just becomes loose.
Headlight bulbs need to be replaced on a regular basis (at least ten so far) and the plastic in the base is melted (could cause a fire).
Major safty issue, air bag stop working after 38,000 mi and no manufacturer concern. Relay not working?????air bag dash light. Dash clock also flashing?????.

- the contact stated that her 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara, has had several safety issues since she's purchased the vehicle last year. The first problem was her air bag sensor; she stated that when there is someone sitting on the passenger front side the air bag sensor constantly turns on and off. She has stated that sometimes if you sit in the seat a certain way the airbag sensor works. She has taken the vehicle to the dealership and they changed the computer in the vehicle on one occasion. The seat continued to have the same problem and she took the vehicle back and they changed the seat sensor and that didn't work. The stated that they have also re calibrated the seat and the seat sensor was still malfunctioning. On 03/16/07 while driving at a speed of 60 mph she tried to pass two vehicles on the expressway and the vehicle stalled. She stated that the engine accelerated, but instantly the vehicle lost power. She noticed that the engine light was on, but not sure if any other lights turned on. The contact stated that the vehicle coasted to the side of the road and was able to restart the vehicle immediately. The contact stated that she drove two miles and had the vehicle towed to the dealership. The contact stated that as of now she's waiting for the diagnostic evaluation of the vehicle. The current mileage was 7016.
Started my vehicle and noticed a burning smell. Backed out of my garage and the back door arm rest was smoking. Shut the car off and put out fire. Called the Suzuki shop and they had me drive it in. My electrical warranty was expired. They replaced fuse, switch, handle and wire comp. On the rear door. $561. 00 later I picked up the vehicle.

I had bought a used Suzuki auto from enterprise rental cars. In mid-June 2005 I was returning to phila. On I-95 after taking my daughter to camp in massachusetts. Just outside darien, conn. All the power on the car just shut down completely. An 18-wheeler was barreling down on me in the center lane but fortunately for me the lane to my right was empty and the shoulder was wide enough for me to pull over. After spending the night in darien and having a repair shop tow the car, the mechanic said there had been a blown fuse. He replaced the fuse and gave me a spare and instructions on how to replace it if I needed to on my way home. After I got back to phila. , I took the car to my nearest Suzuki dealer. The mechanic found the problem which he said was the subject of a recall the previous year and that enterprise had never taken the vehicle in to fix the problem. The problem, by the way, was that a wires rubber coating had been abraded due to rubbing against the chassis of the car. Once the wire was exposed, its touching the metal frame caused the electrical system (including the accelerator) to shut down completely. I don't fault Suzuki but rather enterprise car rentals for not allowing the car to be serviced by Suzuki when they were given the recall notice and then selling it to me without telling me anything about the recall or what they did about the recall. . While driving, the driver was able to air coming inside of the vehicle when the all windows were closed. Also, the headlights will came on and went off by themselves. This is a hazard to the driver's visibility at night. This was a continuous problem.

While the truck was left running for a few minutes with the air conditioner in use, the truck began smoking from underneath the front. The dealership states "this happened because the truck is new". The cause was never determined and the dealership returned the truck to the owner. Please describe details. Mr.
