2 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Suzuki XL7

Failure Date: 08/09/2017

Bought this vehicle from original owner. After noticing some issues & looking back over carfax, repair report, & recalls online, I called Suzuki. Gave the VIN# and was told a recall was done in 2004 by dealer. When asked about the other recalls, she said there was no other recalls. All paperwork I have has no indications of the recall being done. I see 3 recalls on this site as well. What should I do or who should I contact?.

This was the 2nd time this problem occurred. This time I was coming back from a drive on the hwy and my wheel started to shake. It was a drastic change of a smooth ride to a weird shaking. I exited the hwy and went the street way. Still it did not improve got worst could barely accelerate . The brakes were so sensitive I barely pushed them down and it stopped. By the time I got home the and parked the car in the garage it stated to run hot. So I wanted to remove it out the garage it was very hard to reverse I got it half way out of the garage and grabbed my son we ran because it was smelling hot and running hot.

My Suzuki Xl7 has the stability control light and all other electrical lights in the interior of the car go on and off, the warnings for the breaks and stability control they always come on after it rains. When the temperature is over , all the electrical components in the car go crazy and the car shuts off, after taking the car several times to the dealer the have no idea what can cause this issue, but now all the locks are not working when the temperature is high and the car is either locked or unlocked, and we have issues with our air bags too, sometimes the passenger light is off when someone is sitting on it.

Failure Date: 02/04/2014

While driving 20 miles per hour on an icy road the service traction control, service stability control, service awd, and reduced engine power lights came on. The engine seized and surged and my brakes were inoperable. The vehicle slid and fishtailed. I regained control of the vehicle after a few seconds and pushed the gas lightly to continue driving. The vehicle surged forward and I slid into a canal. I was able to climb into the back seat, escape out the back passenger door, and swim to safety.

9 Service Brakes problem of the 2003 Suzuki XL7

Failure Date: 02/20/2006

Letter of complaint and frustration on the poor quality of 2003 Suzuki xl-7 and subsequent pathetic lack of service at the dealer. ***** the molding on the running boards on both sides of the vehicle came off. All the seat belts except for the front driver and passenger lock for no reason. Once locked the seat belts can not be loosened. The seat belt has to be unbuckled the allowed to retract fully before it will function properly. When the interior lights were in auto mode the light did not come on when the doors were opened. A consumer smell a foul odor like oil or something burning. The dealer said that the smell was from the undercoating applied to protect the undercarriage and that it would go away in a few months. The smell persisted beyond a few months. The instrument panel light would go off intermittently. The brakes made noise. The dealer blamed the noise on the brakes being new. The battery terminals corroded.
