1 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2017 Tesla Model S

Failure Date: 11/23/2020

Touch screen is completely black multiple times per week. Usually at beginning of trips, but occasionally suddenly occurs in the middle of trips. Black out can last upwards of 10 minutes (per smartphone stop watch). Touchscreen blackout limits access to fog light controls, back up camera, garage controls, passenger airbag status indicator, and all audible warnings including emergency brake alert and turn signal noises. The vehicle is covered under Tesla's new extended warranty. I requested service on 10/17. Was scheduled to bring car in on 11/12 (next available). They said it was done on 11/13 after only completing a diagnostic and a firmware flash. No hardware modifications were completed. Same symptoms reoccurred on 11/23. I contacted them that same day and they gave me an appointment of 12/18. Today (11/24) they contacted me to recommend I cancel the appointment as the issue is (they say) software based and they "found no issues with the hardware" via remote diagnostic. Video link below of a recent 7 minute black out. Https://photos. App. Goo. Gl/3bdbafq7ylvjtxfu7 I have attempted multiple forms of reset/reboot when this occurs with no notable improvements.

2 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2016 Tesla Model S

Failure Date: 06/17/2020

My media control unit (mcu) has failed and Tesla is slow to provide me a replacement. They claim that I will be provided a "refurbished unit" as soon as one becomes available. The mcu failure has impacted my cars rear backup camera, the charging system, the ability to turn on/off headlights and fogs lights, driver settings such as steering (ride selection), front crash warnings, etc. My turn signals are not responding either, and I'm gravely concerned about other safety features failing without this component being replaced. Tesla acts like it's main purpose is for media like navigation, music, etc. But as I stated, several items are direct safety hazards. Tesla knew of this mcu problem long ago and should have issued a recall for all Tesla Model S owners experiencing this problem.

3 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2015 Tesla Model S

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

The 12v battery on our 2015 Tesla Model S started failing last November. We were assured that Tesla that it would be safe to drive until they could replace the battery (which took about 2 months). We've come to understand that this is far from accurate. After that, our mcu (the main computer in the car) failed. This is apparently a well known problem that Tesla refuses to fix. When they replaced the mcu we immediately started having issues: 1. The emergency flashers did not work. 2. The computer logs were not available to Tesla to diagnose issues or recover our car if it was stollen. 3. The fog lights stopped working 4. Glove box would not open 5. Screen now has noticeable flicker 6. Car now has charging problems. The issues with the emergency flashers, fog lights, and glove box were able to fixed by a different service center the same day (although I had to drive approx. 30 miles to get to a different service center). The logging issue took about a month or two to fix. The screen flicker and charging issues where the car randomly switches to a different charging level while driving or charging without any error messages, is on-going. I've been back to Tesla over a dozen times, and they ike to charge $100 every visit "under warranty. ".

4 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2015 Tesla Model S

Failure Date: 03/06/2020

My vehicle was serviced by Tesla's sunnyvale service center and when returned, they obviously never did a safety test. After driving down the street I found they didn't reconnect several cables, including the fog lights and the emergency flashers. They also disabled several safety features (lane departure warnings, speed warnings, door locks, child locks) without telling me any of this!.

5 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2016 Tesla Model S

Failure Date: 11/14/2019

I've been having ongoing issues with the mcu/ touch screen. I was driving early morning one day when it was still dark outside. I went to turn on fog lights and all of a sudden the headlights turned off and the touch screen froze on me. I had no way of turning the headlights back on and had to drive in the dark without knowing what is ahead of me until I stopped on the side of the road. They did replace the mcu, however I've still been having issues with the touch screen. I don't have full confidence in the system. How do I know this won't happen again?.
