The contact owns a 2017 Tesla Model X. The contact stated that at start-up, the steering wheel failed to operate as needed causing the vehicle to be difficult to steer. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken Tesla (530 n state rt 17, paramus, NJ 07652, (201) 225-2544) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the u-joint needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
