1 Warning problem of the 2017 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 10/16/2025

The autopilot ecu failed on my car per Tesla. There was no warning on the car that my safety features were disabled. This is also reported online as a common issue and Tesla is charging $2k to repair a safety computer. The computer was advertised as two chips as a failsafe but that was not the case as both failed on my car. I suspect this software updates broke the computer as well and not at fault from the customer.

2 Warning problem of the 2021 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 06/17/2025

My car has 50,000 miles on it and is just over 4 years old. The steering column has failed causing it to not be able to steer. The service for this is a new steering column at a cost of over $5,000. 00. The y models and 3 models had a recall on this issue. Now it looks like the x models are having the issue as well. The consumer should not be responsible for this. It is dangerous. It is expensive to fix. A steering column should not fail at 50,000 miles. I am not the only person who has been faced with this issue. Tesla service even confirmed that they are seeing this on the x models. I think an investigation should be done. How many $5,000. 00 repairs for safety has the consumer been saddled with?.

3 Warning problem of the 2018 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 03/23/2025

Based on thousands of posts, replies, etc, this seems to be a well known issue with this model/year Tesla as well as other years/models. It seems that the wheel sensor cable is not fastened properly, and over time, the cable runs against the tire, causing the internal wires to be exposed, this in turn causes numerous faults to occur, which includes causing abs, lane departure avoidance, traction control, stability control, abs, and regenerative braking to stop working. This happens while driving resulting in an immediate change in how the vehicle functions which could easily lead to a major accident while there are numerous forums where this issue is noted, below is one that details the issue with photos [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

5 Warning problem of the 2023 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 09/07/2024

2023 Tesla Model X repeatedly and frequently provides distracting false lane departure warning. A sudden loud noise is generated and the display flashes red. However there is no lane departure occurring when this warning is being generated. Has happened over 20 times in the last 2 to 3 months. Display additionally states "corrective steering applied", however there is no force in the steering wheel. Tesla states this is by design.

6 Warning problem of the 2020 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 03/21/2024

On 3/21/24, while driving my second Tesla Model X on i395 from carson city back to reno at the speed of 79 mph on autopilot, the same sudden loud alarming situation occurred, with 1. Park assist unavailable 2. Steering assist reduced 3. Adaptive ride control degraded 4. Traction control disabled 5. Stability control disabled 6. Lane departure avoidance features unavailable 7. Automatic emergency braking is unavailable 8. Automatic vehicle hold disabled. I drove to s stop, the car can't park but remained in neutral gear. Can't hard reset. With my prior experience 1 month ago, I changed it into tow mode several times, finally was able to switch into park mode then was able to do a hard reset. When I brought in to Tesla, they said it's the same problem, steering rack issue. Another $5300 is gone. How can I be so unlucky to be hit with same model, different year, same problem, same driving condition and almost same place on earth, and both out of warranty and I have to pay in full? there must be manufacture defect on this!!!!!!.

8 Warning problem of the 2023 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 10/09/2023

Subject: urgent adas issue: ui_a114 error in Teslas with eap/fsd in east oahu I'm reporting a critical, location-specific safety concern affecting Teslas with enhanced autopilot or full self-driving in east oahu, particularly when heading westbound. This widespread issue, known as error ui_a114, disables all advanced driver assistance systems (adas) without warning. It impacts essential safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and emergency braking, presenting significant risks. Tesla support in honolulu acknowledges this as a multi-year issue among east oahu Tesla owners with eap/fsd, regardless of activation status. This suggests a software-related problem or environmental interaction unique to this region, necessitating urgent investigation and resolution to ensure driver and public safety. Further details are provided in the attached pdf. Your attention and action on this matter are crucial.

9 Warning problem of the 2018 Tesla Model X

Suddenly getting harder to turn the steering wheel to either direction. 10 Warning problem of the 2022 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 07/26/2023

At around 9:10 p. M. On 7/26/2023, I was driving 2 guests on the I-5 highway from seattle to the airport. The car’s automatic driving assistance system suddenly failed to work. Tip 1: the steering assistance effect has been reduced 2: lane departure avoidance function is not available; at this time, the steering wheel suddenly couldn't turn, and I felt locked tightly, unable to change lanes, so I had to slowly reduce the speed, turn very, very hard to change lanes, from the innermost carpool lane to the outermost exit lane, slowly the driver controlled the steering wheel hard, and it was impossible to drive on the deceleration road when getting off the high speed. When encountering an intersection, I couldn't turn to the normal driving lane at one time. I drove about 15 miles like this, and put the passengers down at the airport. I slowly drove to the 76 near the airport. After parking the car at the gas station, I searched online to see if this happened to others? at the same time, press and hold the ball button on the steering wheel to restart the screen, and found that the situation did not improve, and the steering wheel was locked tightly. I got out of the car and found that the tire pressure of the four tires was all at 40psi, which was probably related to my hard twisting of the steering wheel. I restarted tried a factory reset, and after it reset to factory settings, the situation didn't get any better, it was already 11:00 pm, I wanted to fill up the tires to 45psi first, and then called a rescue tow truck, at this time I found that the steering wheel was unlocked , it can be turned flexibly, and after filling up the gas, I went home and upgraded the system again. Thinking about this kind of thing that happened suddenly , I was still in palpitations and almost didn't dare to drive it out again. What's going on in this situation? will this security risk happen often? how to handle it correctly?.

12 Warning problem of the 2021 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 07/15/2023

After an update I was reversing my car , car stopped in middle of road and steering wheel lost control with sign of steering assist reduced and lane departure . . . . . It was a death scare. I contacted Tesla, 3 weeks ago and today my car has gone for repair. I hear that model y and 3 are recalled. I can not trust driving Tesla Model X car any more.

13 Warning problem of the 2017 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 06/01/2023

I paid for fsd and now Tesla has disabled the feature. They have not responded to any inquiries by me as to when it’s going to be reactivated. I would appreciate anything that you can do.

14 Warning problem of the 2017 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 02/04/2023

This contains new information, a smoking gun, and is associated with NHTSA complaint numbers 11505487, 11505488, and 11505489. Nhtsa recall: 21v-035; Tesla manufacturer recall: sb-21-21-001 I was threatened a $35/day charge and tow/impound though no maintenance was performed on my vehicle. I went to pick it up and the vehicle was still suffering from the recalled emmc issue which causes the screens to blank, freeze, etc. All driving information, safety features, and some exterior safety features are lost - it's a major hazard. This recall has two parts, the first part was a Tesla over the air update, which it pushed to the affected vehicles. I believe in doing this, Tesla has now stated to the NHTSA that the recall was complete. However, the recall has a secondary part "to be specific, Tesla will replace the vcm daughterboard that has the hynix 8gb emmc with a vcm daughterboard that has an enhanced 64gb micron emmc, free of charge. " which Tesla is completely denying accomplishment. I have requested the car be repaired 7 times over the past 6 months and they have denied and avoided the recall repair, stating that there are no active recalls and forcing a paid upgrade to the mcu2. Tesla is abusing the over the air update capability and falsely stating that they're correcting issues to avoid correcting safety hazards. My vehicle has experienced 13 failures over our 6k miles of ownership in 6 months. In those 13 failures, 6 nearly caused catastrophic accidents. Additionally, the service center in fort worth (275 university drive) has been altering/cancelling service records to avoid completing required recall repairs. The gm, jennifer was recently fired/resigned and the senior service rep dennis was moved. Tesla must fix its unsafe vehicles and I recommend double checking all recalls Tesla has "completed" via over the air updates. They're artificially avoiding accomplishment of the recall and leveraging the safety hazard on the consumer.

15 Warning problem of the 2016 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 11/04/2022

Possibly loss of power to the steering wheel, caused the car hitting the freeway middle cement separator Tesla refuses to look at my drive report to identify the exact fault of the car this happened on November 4th and I see there was an issue with Tesla cars due to a faulty software download during that time I’ve reached out to Tesla numerous numerous times, they refuse to review the report and identify the malfunction.

16 Warning problem of the 2021 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 08/31/2021

My sd card failed and had to be replaced on my 2021 Model X. The car's screens went completely blank during the 2021. 24. 3 software update. Car lost all power while park, failed to turn on after 3+ hours, had to be towed to service center. There was told the sd card failed and had to be replaced. This faulty sd card seems to be more than just a 2016-2018 issue.

17 Warning problem of the 2017 Tesla Model X

Failure Date: 12/12/2020

While driving in autopilot my mcu (Tesla controller) occasionally fails. This means the autopilot computer works fine but all audio notifications do not work. The autopilot will change lanes for me without the normal auditory notification. Turn signals are silent. The mcu will then completely freeze (no touch input and gps frozen while driving) requiring either a manual reboot by myself or it crashes completely and reboots itself. 5 visits to my service center in the past 13 months of ownership to address this issue have not resulted in a resolution. They tell me they "flashed the storage" or "upgraded the firmware" but the car continues to prove this did not resolve the issue. Autopilot functioning without notifying the user of maneuvers could be deadly. It is a self driving car but still requires drivers to pay attention and take over if autopilot makes a faulty decision. I have videos of this happening. Attached I have uploaded invoices from the service center showing I have brought mcu failure issues to them on multiple occasions and continue to have issues. Note that line item 14 on the invoice dated 01132021 Tesla inaccurately states my no audio on automatic lane change issue. I requested they rephrase this issue to the issue I reported but they refuse to put this in writing. Why? suspicious.
