Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 2004 Toyota Avalon

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Toyota Avalon. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the airbag sensor light would intermittently illuminate. The recall notice for NHTSA campaign number 15v430000 (air bag system) was received in March 2015. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but parts needed to repair the recall were not available. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 210,000. Jft.

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Toyota Avalon. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air bag sensor light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the supplemental restraint system was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In February 2015 the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number 15v043000(air bag system) was received. After notifying the dealer the contact was informed that parts needed to repair the vehicle was not available. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 73,000 jft.

On 9/28/2006 at approximately 5:20 pm, my wife & I were traveling south on the bullhead parkway, bullhead city, az, when we were struck front left fender, pushing our vehicle into a stopped vehicle, totaling our vehicle, a 2003 Toyota Avalon. The owner of the body shop told us that he was surprised that neither the side or front air bag deployed even though both sensors were crushed. I advised Toyota, NY city of this so that they could investigate and correct this problem. I do not know if they did or not.
