My complaint has to do with the air bag recall. The dealer on two occasions replaced components of the air bag system but has been unable to correct the problem. The service consultant claims to have contacted Toyota tech personnel in CA and was told, basically, "there's nothing else we can do under the recall. " if the problem still exists, I. E. The warning light still comes on and, apparently, there is still the risk of a malfunction, I fail to see why further action cannot be taken. From what I have read and heard the consequences of an air bag malfunction can be fatal.

8 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2012

When the car is moving, the airbag warning light illuminates and glows, sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes for an hour. Then it goes out. I received an interim notice letter from Toyota over 2 months ago citing this problem and stating that they would notify me "again when a remedy is ready". I have not received another notice and I am afraid that a serious accident, injury or fatality could occur if the airbag deploys while being driven and no collision has occurred. Please have Toyota contact me with the remedy so I can have it applied at Toyota's expense.
