1 Power Train Driveline problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2007

Complete loss of oil from vvt oil line. No events just got home from 100 mile trip saw oil slick when backing into parking spot. Luckily shut engine off before ran dry. Smoke just starting.

2 Power Train Driveline problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2006

Car hesitates and automatic transmission shifts abruptly at highway speeds (55-65 mph). Hesitation is particularity alarming. If I needed to accelerate quickly from a stop, this car would not respond. Dealer states they have never heard of these problems, yet the hesitation on the 2007 Toyota Camry is well documented on web sites (edmunds etc. ). Dealer also tried to pass off this defect as "this is a drive by wire car and you may not be used to how they operate". I have been driving for 35 years and have never had cars operate in this manner. If drive by wire is the problem, then this technology should not be allowed on cars.
