When I purchased this vehicle there were no problems, no lights on my dash, the trim all matched and was the color blue. Then after having a falling out with some family members I started noticing problems with my hvac system. It started with antifreeze leaks then id fix it and the next week the radiator hose would be leaking again. I started really keeping track of everything about my car after that. Next I started noticing parts changed and parts missing. My vsc fuse block in the engine bay is completely missing now. Next I started noticing while driving my seat would move without me doing anything. The family member that I had a falling out with is in the hvac union also. While driving I hear some type of switch click on and a gas smell starting coming out of my vents. Also I noticed after getting an aliment done that someone had adjusted the aliment bolts over night it's very noticable. You can clearly see where someone ran new electric wires for something. I went to the police 3 the mea about the issue but no investigation. Please help.
The instrument panel goes black while driving in daylight. Seems to be a non issue at night. You can not tell what speed you are traveling, if the car is running hot or how much gas is in the tank. Appears to be a major problem by searching for solutions. Many solutions have already been tried but seems to not fix the issue. Could be dangerous not knowing how fast / slow you are traveling. If you search this issue on Toyotanation. Com, you will see many owners have this same issue. I just purchased this car so do not know how long it has been an issue. Previous owner did not disclose this issue to me. I reached out to him but he has not contacted me back. I did buy it as is so there's that.
I was driving my car when suddenly the speedometer started going from 0-60 back and forth, the rpms was all over the place, the brake light came on and stayed on and the lights was going from bright to dim, there was a couple more lights aluminized on my dash. After googling the problem that nearly caused me and my children to crash, there is so many people affected by this same problem in the 2007 Toyota Camry. Why hasn't this been recalled or class auctioned. Also my dash board is sticky like tar.
I was driving along and without warning the speedometer became erratic and then went to zero. As I was moving on a main road (limited access) I could not safely stop right away. Several other items on the instrument panel began to operate erratically. (these other items would not be considered safety items) before reaching an exit or other safe place the speedometer began to operate again. I got off on a general main street and all seemed ok in a few minutes the problem returned and the speedometer went to zero again after becoming erratic first. I can not trust the speed reading on a regular road or any road I may be driving to fast for some limiting condition or posting and not realize it. I am concerned for my safety and that of others. This has happened several times and then goes away but I can not trust the reading.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the mechanic was not able to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Abs module failure. This system keeps crashing despite having replaced the issue before. Please force Toyota to do a recall.
Dash cluster showed brake light and bas light on, tachometer and speedometer dropped to zero while going approx. 40 mph.
On July 11, 2021, my husband and I were driving to a location not far from our house, on a state road with a 45 mph speed limit, when "check hybrid system" and "check vsc system" warnings began alternately appearing and I lost acceleration. I turned on my hazard lights and was eventually able to pull off on the side of the road. I turned off all power then restarted, at which point the engine resumed working and we were able to continue driving, but the "check hybrid system" and engine light warnings remained on. We were able to reset the computer system by disconnecting the negative terminal of the auxiliary battery (which had been replaced a few months ago) for ten minutes, but I travel over 700 miles at least monthly to take care of my elderly blind father, and I don't want this to happen while I'm driving on I-95, when it's much more likely to result in a serious accident or fatality.
My car has a mileage of about 178k and just recently got a "check vsc system" which apparently affects brakes and also manages stability in case of hazardous road conditions. Across the internet, people also have reported the same issue and in some cases, people have had brakes locking up once this warning came up. Per a recall from Toyota, this is being fixed by the manufacturer only within a certain date and mileage and I dont fall into either of these criteria. The part itself is very expensive to afford right now. . . Would be appreciative if the manufacturer can provide a way to fix this for a nominal cost or for free. The Camry started revving up to 1500 rpm at stop lights or when pulling into parking spots almost causing accidents, local dealer could not find issue after having car for a month. There is no check engine light or saved codes, I just notice the engine coolant temperature drop while its doing it so its an electrical issue. It happens every other day usually when warm out. I am too scared to have my wife drive the vehicle anymore and cannot justify selling. Hopefully Toyota will help figure this out. Dealer replaced fuel pump but it did not fix the issue. Also has hard starting once or twice a week, will always start on the third try if not immediately.
I got in my car to go to work yesterday morning and my car spead up to fast I wasnt on my gas cuz I live in a town n have a short driveway. So I go to put on my breaks n I couldn't stop its like there was no brakes. So I let off n slamed on them again befor I hit the road n I stoped barrly out in the road. My break light then was on. N it still felt like I had no brakes at the stop sign. So I pulled over shut my car off for 10 minute n started to head to work. Now my brakes was touchy but my break light was off. So I made it to work and when I got in my car after 7 hours it was fine like nothing happened. There has been other times where I have left work n my car switches from batter to gas n it speeds up but this time was differant n much faster in suck a short distance.
Car had vsc system replaced due to recall a few years ago. Having issues again with vsc system light coming on, abs light and brake light while the car was being driven under normal conditions.
Vcs system light on brake light warning light abs light.

Check vsc system.
I had just slowly turned right into a parking spot in a public parking garage and was coasting to the end of the spot when my car suddenly started to accelerate on its own. I hit the brake, but there was not enough time to stop the car before it crashed into a large concrete pillar at the end of the parking spot. There was extensive damage to the front bumper, grill and hood of the car. I immediately checked, but there weren't any objects around the accelerator pedal and the floor mats were in place. Toyota sent an inspector. The edr report is attached. Toyota said there were no problems with the brake or accelerator. They would not however answer my questions about the edr data, and specifically how, if the car was not accelerating on its own, I could have been depressing the accelerator pedal, and while the accelerator remained depressed, simultaneously depressed the brake pedal as the edr data showed. Note that my car was up-to-date with all recalls when the incident happened.
Tl the contact owned a 2007 Toyota Camry. While the contact's son was driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle accelerated without warning and crashed into the front driver's side of a Ford truck. The driver sustained head injuries that required medical attention; however, the driver died at the hospital. The driver of the truck sustained unknown injuries. The air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The fire department arrived at the scene, but there was no fire. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and deemed a total loss. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The failure mileage was unknown.
Too much oil consumption also the car jerks when you press the gas pedal.
Car accelarted without stepping on gas pedal on its own in a parking lot, took repetitive and forceful pressure on the brake to control car from continuing into a wall. Mechanic (not dealer) tested and problem didn't appear. When driving car into home home parking spot, backing up to position place, the car accelerated on it own again and stopped only with forceful brake pressure.
The abs & brake light comes in and when it does the speed motor goes to 0 and also is the air conditioner is on it goes straight to blowing hot air.
My Toyota Camry ce has a problem with dash board. All gauges goes up and down. I have video. I took it to mechanic and base on the scanner everything checks out fine. No code indicator. There are many forums about this same problem people are encountering. This problem must be a recall. It does it while I'm driving.
My 2007 Toyota Camry lr abs system is not working, I read numerous complaints (over 197 complaints with this problem on 2007 Camry le's) to your site with same problem: warning lights , speedometer needle at "0", etc. Cost to replace abs system over $2,500. Someone said the abs was only to prevent skids and even though speedometer is not showing speed, that no other problem such as sudden stop, or brake failure, etc would happen, complaints on your site show that other problems, can result, what can we do? my car mileage is 79,899. This is a continuing problem started approx. August 2017 - -.
The contact owned a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving 10 mph, the floor mat became stuck under the accelerator pedal and the vehicle crashed into a pole. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an undisclosed location and deemed a total loss. The contact called a local dealer (pauly Toyota located at 1035 s 11 route 31 crystal lake, IL 60014), but was not repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 07e082000 since it was previously repaired on March 22, 2010. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,422.
Basically the abs actuator it's failing like in the hybrid model but are not covered by the Toyota extended warranty which is completely unfair as the part failing it's the same basic abs part but on different non-electric variant.
Takata recall: I took my 2007 Toyota Camry 4 cyl for the bulletin it has of oil consuption and it pass the test twice, I knew there was something wrong but as the technicians told me it was okay I drove it like that for some months still had to add every 1,000 miles 1 q of oil. Kept doing this until my engine blew. Now irs my fault and they dont want to pay for the repair. Total unjustice from Toyota.
My brake and abs lights come on intermittent. When the two lights come on the speedometer stops working and it's difficult to brake. My local Toyota dealership stated that my abs actuator/abs module is going out. This is the same year, make, and model of cars that people lost there lives due to brake issue. Toyota refuses to acknowledge and repair this issue.
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry that has intermittent instrument cluster problems. Odometer does not increment miles traveled. The speedometer and tachometer will cease to indicate proper readings and drop to zero. The tachometer will then bounce between zero and what I can only assume is a close approximation of the actual engine rpm. At the same time, the abs and parking brake warning lights illuminate and stay on for the duration of the "episode".
Car was recently shipped from overseas. When I got my car, the dash lights will not go off, the abs motor will not shut off causing my battery to drain constantly, speedometer will not work, gas gauge moves slow, engine shakes and feels like it is going to cut off. The car was stationary and in motion. Car air condition occasionally blows hot air.
Dealership found the abs actuator had failed. Symptoms included: abs and parking break lights randomly turn on while driving. Speedometer will stop working and tachymeter will start to bounce. A/c also blows warm. There are several cases of this found online and per consumer reports the 2007 Camry hybrid experienced problems with the abs actuator as well.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving 20 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle accelerated in excess. In addition, while in park, the vehicle accelerated independently. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 09v388000 (vehicle speed control); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Periodically when driving or at a stop, the speedometer goes to zero, the emergency brake and abs lights go on, temperature gauge occasionally goes to cold, and the tachometer gauge fluctuates. Toyota dealer says it's the brake actuator ecu which, just for the part, runs around $2000. I see a recall for the hybrid but not my model and noticed other owners complaining about the same issue on the web. My car is only worth about $5000. I have owned Camrys in the past but this is the first time I have any real issues with this year model. I have a 1989 that is still running with almost 350,000 miles on it. My present vehicle only has a little over 160,000.
While running (sitting still or moving) the dashboard gauges will go crazy. The speedometer will go to 0, the brake and abs lights will come on and the rpm may bounce around. The temp gauge may also drop to c. Otherwise, the car appears fine. This can happen at any time (engine cold or warm, driving in city or highway). The length of the episodes vary from a second (or less) to 20+ minutes. From a little research, I can tell other Toyota Camry (around the same year) owners have also encountered this issue.
The contact owned a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving 35 mph, the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. The contact was unable to slow down the vehicle and crashed into a concrete barrier. The air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained seat belt burns and whiplash, which required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.
While operating the vehicle (stationary or moving) the instrument panel will intermittently provide false/no information. Some of the known symptoms include the flashing of the malfunction lights for the abs system and parking brake, the gauge needles showing zero while moving or bouncing intermittently, and the a/c system being inoperative.
