Driving down the highway or neighborhoods the speedometer would go to 0 indicating that the speed of the car was unknown. Not knowing what speed you are driving allows for excessive speed and could easily cause an accident or get stopped for speeding. The abs module is the cause of the failure.
My 07 Camry runs completely out of oil before it's time for it to be changed. I have had the car checked for oil leaks and has passed each time. After researching this issue I have found that the more miles on the car the faster it runs the oil out and with that being said I now have engine damage. Not to mention this car has been the absolute worst. I put my visors down one time and had to take them off because they wouldn't go back up. The power controls in my car don't work. I also found out tonight that there was a recall on the gas pedal in this death trap that happened before I owned it that I was never informed of but knew something had to be wrong with it because it kept sticking!! I am not the only person dealing with this and find it outrageous that it has not been fixed. My children used to ride in that car!! it is a ticking time bomb and something needs to be done about this!!!!!!!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle stability control warning light and the traction control light illuminated. The contact also stated that the brakes also failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to retrieve a vehicle fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 112,003. Ah.
Vehicle having problem with abs module. Same as many other complaints on NHTSA website. At random times, brake and abs lights come on and speedometer drops to zero. May last for one or several minutes and eventually returns to normal. Alternates between functioning and not but has been malfunctioning more than it works. Mechanic diagnosed problem as abs module. Brakes seem to be functioning correctly but not sure if working in abs mode. Based on complaints on website, can't believe NHTSA has not forced a recall.
While driving rpm is fluctuating causing the vehicle to feel like it is down shifting when not decelerating. This makes it feel like it is causing unnecessary strain on the transmission.
The car will be running perfect and out of no where my car will start decelerating. It will still lose speed even as I have the gas pedal all the way to the floor. I went from 60mph to 15mph with the pedal all the way to the floor. Finally it will start gaining speed but my rpm's hit 6-7 and almost max out. I was on a highway with a semi truck right behind me as this happened causing him to almost hit me. It was hooked up to a diagnostic check and no errors or problems popped up at all. This concerns me because no one can figure out the problem.
While the vehicle is in motion it hesitates to switch gears from 2nd to 3rd gear. As you accelerate. At times there is a jerk as it is doing so. This causes me to either slow down or speed up until it goes into gear.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While exiting a parking space in reverse, the vehicle independently accelerated and crashed into a parked vehicle. The contact was not injured and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000.
I was trying to back out of an extended parking area at church, a grassy area with pebbles. So, I was backing out very carefully so as to not hit the row of cars parked behind me. Suddenly as I was backing out, the Toyota began to move backwards very fast with a loud roar (racecar sound). While in a state of terror I had to wrestle the Toyota away from the other parked cars as much as I could and keep trying to push the brake pedal down, but the brake pedal wouldn't move. The Toyota struck a red car that dragged through the driver's side, from the front of the Toyota to the end of the Toyota. Still wrestling with the wheel of the Toyota, I ended up slamming backwards into an 8t ft. Chain link fence, on the church property. My foot still on the brake, as the Toyota slams into the fence, the Toyota then stopped. Break and accelerator pedal returned to what felt like a normal position. I then pulled the Toyota up and away from the fence and out a bit away from the row of cars , so that I could get out of the Toyota. Then I asked the young man who watched it all, if he would go get the owner of the car I had damaged.

The water temperature, rpm guage and speedometer randomly fluctuate, abs and brake lights stay on. A/c will randomly stop working.
When driving downhill with foot depressed on brake the vehicle was trying to accelerate, abs light game on and brake light simultaneously , speedometer stopped working, tach went crazy and car began to idle roughly and try to surge forward with foot on brakes.
When taking off from a standing start after a hard brake my car lurches as it speeds up.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle shook violently when the brake pedal was depressed. In addition, when depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle lost power and accelerated without warning. The contact also stated that the vehicle lost oil after two or three days. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the radiator detached and leaked water, and the oil ring failed. Both components needed to be replaced. The radiator was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 187,671.
The car speedometer stopped working while I was driving. The needle went to zero, the tachometer fluctuates out of control up and down, the abs and brake lights come on, the lights that indicate what gear you are in turned off, the gas gauge appears to still work okay, but the mileage stops calculating although the digital display is still on just not counting mileage. I have no way to know how fast I am going or if my car will either not stop due to brake lights being on or just cut off since there seems to be some electrical malfunction. The air conditioning also stopped working. This happened the first time for about 10 minutes, then as quickly as it stopped, it started working again. It has now done this each day at multiple times during each trip for the past 3 days since the problem first started. Not knowing how fast you are going is a real safety issue and sounds like this issue has come up before with other Toyota owners and should be recalled.
As I was driving and came to the stop my speedometer dropped down to zero, my tachometer keeps going up and down, the abs and brake signals light up, and my a/c seems to stop working. I researched this online and noticed that hundreds of consumers are experiencing this problem. Seems to be something to do with the abs modulator/sensor corroding. I contacted my local Toyota dealership in clovis and they said they had to start with a basic diagnosis of $129 and that this was not a recall issue. How can this not be a recall of there are hundreds of complaints!? I have a tomtom that can keep track of my speed so I'll just use this until a recall is made and this issue can be fixed free of charge.
While driving down the road at around 45mph. All of a sudden. My abs and brake light indicators light up. My speedometer dropped down to 0. My gauges jumping around. My speed in actuality didn't go down to 0. And, my car didn't stall or cut off. But, if it had. I could have been ran over by a semi truck or another vehicle. Prior to this happening, my tire sensor light was on. I took to the dealership, and they said once the tire sensor was fixed, the other would go away. I had tire sensor fixed. The lights went off for a brief period. But, back on again at interval times. The car also seems to want to cut off when idling at red lights. When I googled the problems online. It seem Toyota cars of all makes and years are having the same exact problem. I am taking back to the dealership once again.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the vehicle dashboard are melting. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 12v491000 (visibility) and 09v388000 (vehicle speed control) and stated that the parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 192,000. Aw.
I was driving down a hill about 5mph because it was snowing and there were cars infront of me. I was slowly pressing the brake and then the brake pedal got stuck and I couldnt control the brake, the wheels had locked to and I kept on sliding and I went head on in an SUV. Car is totaled and I sustained neck, back, knee, and shoulder injuries. And also I dont know if there was a fire but after the airbags deployed there was a lot of smoke coming from everywhere.
I can not stop the car on red light or any stop sign, there is a abs sign, they suppose to fix it lats months, I went to the dealer then they replace some thing. I am worry.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle accelerated without warning. In order to stop the vehicle, the contact shifted into park, which caused the vehicle to accelerate more. The ignition had to be turned off before the vehicle came to a sudden stop. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 157,000.
Abs light came on, speedometer. Odometer, and a/c stopped working. Problem continues intermittently. Internet research indicates that this is a widely known problem with this year model and repairs are extremely expensive. Seeking repair through recall. This is a safety issue. Please advise if recall has been or will be initiated. Thank you.
When driving brake and abs light comes on and speedometer goes to 0 mph also ac stop working. Went to a Toyota dealer they say it's the battery. Tested the battery got 12v, told them I'm not stupid. Toyota forum shows a lot of people having the same problem. What Toyota waiting for to place a recall for this problem that can be fatal ?.
The same year and model Toyota Camry has already had a recall for the same problem in the hybrid version for the exact same part. While driving the car the speedometer goes to zero, the tachometer needle goes up and down like crazy, the ac cuts off and the temperature sensor cuts off. The parking brake light and the abs failure light come on the dashboard showing the brake system has failed. The cars does stop but with hesitation. I have no way to know if the brake light are working during the failure so I am concerned I am going to get rear ended because the driver behind me won't know I am stopping. There is no way to know if this issue will get worse and there will be a point where it will not stop. I called Toyota and opened a case #1407190530 and was told that they had no such issues showing in their database. I told them it shows up thousands of times on google and was basically told, who are you going to trust thousands of people or Toyota? I asked him to check for any notes on the model dealing with the abs ecm or the abs acuator. He told me they had none and that I had to bring it to the dealer and have them check it. This seems like a great scam for them, the car gives a code u0073 showing the problem is the abs, so the dealer gets to charge a couple of hundred dollars to run tests to then tell you the 3 inch square part cost $4000 to replace because they are the only ones that make it. You buy the part it cost them $50 to make for $4000 with labor or your don't have a car. Having read through hundred of posts online from people with the exact same issue, with the exact same part I feel that there should be a recall on these cars. Toyota has a bean counter mentality where it has figured out the number of acceptable dead and how much legal fees they can pay before it is worth fixing an issue. Deaths before the loss of profit should be the Toyota slogan.
, tachometer, abs breaks, engine temperature gage, outside temperature gage all sporadically fail.
When driving brake and abs light comes on and speedometer goes to 0 mph also ac stop working.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated at full speed beyond control. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant, stop sign and a bench. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to locate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,446. Djr.
I have a 2007 Camry le and in 2013 I noticed the abs and break lights on the dashboard come on intermittently, tachometer bounces up and down and speedometer shows 0. This kept happening intermittently. This is a huge safety issue, since when driving on the highway, if it doesn't show the correct reading on the speedo meter and the breaks may not function as expected which might lead to accidents. I got it checked(diagnostics test) at a Toyota dealership and they indicated that the abs actuator unit is faulty and needs to be replaced and the cost would be around $2000. I called Toyota to complain since this is an electrical/electronic component and nothing really related to ware and tear, they indicated there are no recalls for abs actuator assembly. I looked online and found that Camry hybrids 2007 have the same problem and Toyota is providing "warranty extension" for owners who experienced this problem. I believe the same warranty extension for abs actuator should apply to 2007 Camry non hybrid models also. Seeking NHTSA help in this regard.
I started my car and the "check vcs system" light as well as other indicator lights came on. After a few seconds they went away. I proceeded to drive down the street as normal. About 30 seconds into my drive, traveling at approximately 15mph, the "check vcs system" light as well as other indicator lights came on again. When I applied the brakes right after the indicator lights came on I discovered that I had no power brakes. I had to press on the pedal extremely hard for the car to come to a stop. This is a very serious and dangerous situation and I hope you can investigate this problem with Toyota.
I own a Toyota Camry le 2007. I am having problems with the speedometer, tachometer and temperature gauges. While in motion, they will cease to indicate proper readings and drop to zero. At the same time, the abs and parking brake warning lights turns on and stay for a duration of 10 to 30 minutes. Also the a/c goes off when these two lights turn on.
My speedometer stopped working, abs brake light stays on, rpm meter dances, and air condition pops on and off, all occurred at the same time. By reading many posts throughout the internet, it seems to be happening to several 2007 Camry's to 2009. Appears to be the abs control module?.
Driving my Camry hybrid this morning on the way to work, stopped by gas station for snacks and drink, brake system completely failed upon backing out of my stall. Brakes would not work going forward or in reverse. "check vsc system" message appeared on my dash. Looked it up in owners manual. Told me brakes worked but to drive slow. Immediately drove home. Had to stop at multiple four way stops, nearly wrecked twice. Vehicle is very dangerous. Luckily no one was hurt or killed. This is a major safety issue that Toyota needs to resolve! turns out it is my abs accumulator, Toyota wants $2500 to fix. I want Toyota to fix it for free since it is a safety system malfunction on a low mileage vehicle.
I had my rear brakes installed at hollywood Toyota in October of 2013. As I left the dealership once the job was complete, my abs light, the brake light came on, my speed odometer stopped working along with my ac which started blowing hot air. I took the car back the following day and got the runaround. The Toyota mechanic said it was the alternator since it was new, and it was giving to much amps. I immediately took the car back to the place the alternator was put in. The problem still existed after going back and forth with the problem. My service tech norm franz said I would have to pay to have a diagnostic test done on the car. Of course I got mad! when I bought the car in I had no problems with the vehicle. The Sunday before my last visit to hollywood Toyota, it started raining, which caused my windows to fog up inside and me driving in a ditch because of poor visibility. Not from the outside, but from the inside everything became fogging in the interior of the car, where I either had to make contact with a car in front of me or go off into the ditch to avoid an accident from whipping the window trying to see in front of me. When, I saw hollywood Toyota not wanting to except responsibility for the actions it has caused! I contacted Toyota corporate and they in turn allowed me to take the car in for another diagnostic without cost. After leaving the dealership, the problem was no better then I took it in. But in addition to me taking it in. I went online and saw I was not the only one who had problem with the abs, brake light style coming on along with the speedometer not working. After dang near pulling what hair I have left out, I am reaching out to you to help eliminate this problem before a major accident occur and lives are lost, because someone else who's ac may not be working on the account of the electrical system failing would be a tragedy.
About two days ago, I was driving and my instrument panel started doing some crazy stuff. The brake light and abs light came on, and my temp gauge, rpm, and odometer started fluctuating. This lasted about 30-45 seconds the first time. Since then it happens intermittently every time I¿m driving and it lasts a couple of minutes each time. I was already scheduled to go in for an oil change today, so I had the service department at my local dealer check out this problem also. The tech first quoted a $53 diagnostic fee, but called me back a couple of hours later to say that they need a more extensive diagnostic process, which would increase the fee to $99. She also said that I needed brakes and a battery ($202 front brakes+$118 battery+$89 brake fluid replace). About an hour later, she called me back and gave me the devastating news that my abs actuator/skid control computer needed to be replaced. The cost was $1686 for the part, and the total with labor would be $2035. This did not include my $40 oil change, battery, and breaks. Nevertheless, I opted to wait on the $2000 abs issue. I went to pick up my car and was actually charged $148 for the diagnostic fee. Essentially, I paid $199 for an oil change and for them to diagnose a problem that they already knew to be a common Camry problem. I would have never purchased a Toyota if I had known that this was a common problem. Also this is a Toyota specific part, so it's not like you can shop around for a deal. I have to pay this ridiculous amount of money because I don't want my children riding in an unsafe car. I a¿¿m so disgusted right now.
While driving at speed 45 coming to brake car slides before braking its like the care doesn't want to stop and speedup I had the car for only 3 months I don't know what to do about the situation autojocks middlebury CT only gave me a 60 day war this vehicle I need to know what to do. This vehicle does not appear to be safe.
