Struts on my 2009 Camry starting leaking around 30000 miles. Since the car is under warranty, Toyota dealer checked them out in September 2011 and indicated that a small amount of leak is normal and struts need not be replaced. Now (November 18, 2012) I have 45,000 miles on my car (out of warranty) and a mechanic checked the struts out and indicated that all four struts are leaking very badly and must be replaced. This is premature failure and Toyota should replace struts on 2009 Camrys without charge.

43 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

I found out my Camry le 2009 had leaking oil on all 4 struts near 40000 miles. It must have been leaking before my warranty expired but didn't notice until an oil change after the warranty expiration. I called Toyota and let them know during the summer of 2012, but the Toyota call center told me that they never had a complaint with the struts. Now my car is over 64000 miles and I found out about this web site to report this incident. Toyota should do the recall. I am the only driver of my car and I rarely have any passengers in my car and use the car for going to work on a mostly highway driving course. Toyota should definitely have a recall for this since I've seen many complaints about the leaking struts.

44 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2011

All four (4) struts are leaking, with approximately 30,000 miles on the vehicle. Dealership claims that this is normal. "normal" would show a little oil on the part of the strut that goes inside (smaller portion) the other part. Oil on the external (larger) cylinder is not "normal". Reports of this problem are all over the internet, despite Toyota's refusal to resolve the problem.

52 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2009

2009 Camry I bought a used Camry 2009 with 64,000 miles on it. I noticed that while making a turn, both right and left axles were creating sound. Then I called Toyota's customer relations dept. Around Nov 11th and reported this matter to them. They gave to me the complaint # 0911116335. They advised me to go to the local dealer. I took the car to the local dealer on Dec. 3,2009 and a mechanic rode with me in the car and agreed that both axles are bad. I left the car with the dealer to confirm this problem. When I picked up the car, they charged me $ 50. 00 for inspection and wrote the report that only left axel was bad. As I have already pointed out, mechanic had already confirmed that both axles were bad. It appears that to 'tone down' this defect, Toyota home office advised the dealer to report that only one axel was bad. Dealer's estimate for replacing one axel was around $ 900. 00 after 10% discount on the parts. I understand that there may be only few 2009 Camrys which would have 64,000 miles on them. I request you to register my complaint and look for other 2009 Camry users to report this problem. Another problem I have noticed is the similar brake problem that Toyota has in prius models. When applying brakes on a slippery condition, car does not stop for few feet. Please also investigate this matter.

2009 Toyota Camry pulls to the left while driving. The first incident the power steering gear assembly was replaced and reset front specs. The problem later occurred again and the consumer was informed that there was no problem with the vehicle. The consumer stated his fiance experienced sudden acceleration while applying the brakes to park the vehicle and ended up on the curb. Vehicle pulls hard to the left no matter what speed or lane you are in. Have visited the local Toyota dealership numerous times and all they do is switch the tires around. Vehicle has had 4 front end alignments and none have corrected the issue. Vehicle now has 80,000 miles on it and I am on my 5th set of tires due to the wear in them.
