Car has been vibrating anytime it goes above 40-45 mph. Mechanic recommended to change the cv axle which I did and I still have same problem. On highways it shakes so much that sometimes it feels like I may loose control of my steering wheel. There's a knocking sound while going on bumps and speed breakers. Check engine light came twice and it was reset by saying its false positive.
Toyota issued a customer support program for u760e torque converter / shudder. (my paperwork from valley-hi Toyota for original csp says campaign or recall inspection. I do not know if there was a formal recall). This customer support program was extended multiple times. The last extension expired 1/27/22. We took our vehicle in for service / repair while this csp (customer service program) was still active when Toyota notified us. When we took our 2014 Camry in for service our car was not showing signs of "shudder'. Our 2014 Toyota Camry developed a "shudder" related to the torque converter / transmission on or about 3/29/2022. We scheduled service with our local Toyota dealership 4/7/2022. We were told we were not covered for this $2,500 defective part repair as their csp had expired 2 months ago. This is a safety issue. Toyota recognizes the issue as they have already extended their csp multiple times. I’m told this shudder will continue to worsen where my car will be undriveable. Will this happen while I’m on a crowded freeway? Toyota was aware of this defective part yet chose not to go with a safety recall. They went with a "customer support program" to save cost over lives. Safety first. We were not notified of subsequent extensions, or we would have taken our vehicle in for service checks. Toyota is choosing profit over safety. Case # 220406001119 / 220406000716.
I have experienced issues with my vehicle when shifting since 2017 withal minor “shudder” after shifting into a higher gear. Now, my vehicle has begun to have trouble shifting from first gear to second. When shifting, the vehicle will abruptly stop before catching in second gear and continuing. It has become a concern as I am not confident to pull out onto busy roads.
Camry began to shudder under light acceleration 25-50mph and can be rather violent at times. Checked for a recall and noticed a service bulletin for a faulty torque converter but no recall. Contacted Toyota and they advised me that I was one month past the extended service date which was out of my control as I had recently gotten it inspected and Toyota passed it without any issues. Given the fact that they passed it knowing it shudders and can have a transmission failure at any moment is a bad business practice and should be checked/reformed.
The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at 35-40 mph, the vehicle started shuddering. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. However, the failure reoccurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 149,000.
Car shudders and low rates of speed. Same as everyone elses. . Software and torque converter. Someone needs to give in a recall this well known issue.
Torque converter fail. Toyota is aware of 2014 Camry failure but doesn't want to help. Https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2018/mc-10129984-9999. Pdf.
My 2014 Camry has a vibration when driving. I took it to local Toyota dealership. They advised that the torque converter is bad and needs replaced. This is $2474 repair. While researching I noticed the 2012 & 2013 Camry had a recall for a bad torque converter. My car has 94k miles which I'm told its unusual for the transmission to go bad. I believe that Toyota should include the 2014 model year in the existing recall.
We own a 2014 Toyota Camry with 88k miles on it. First my wife noticed a shuddering feeling at the speeds of 40-50 miles. She said it was very seldom, she was not worried, she thought it could the road surface making noise. A few weeks later, when I drove it to a shopping center, I noticed transmission shuddering and vibration in the car. A days later took it to the local Toyota service center, they run a diagnostics with an expensive $115 (even though it was obvious that it was a transmission problem). The service told me that it is the torque converter issues and said it is very common for 2012-2014 Toyota Camry. He mentioned that there has been an extended warranty for 8 years or 150k miles which every comes first. The service guy told me that my Camry passed the warranty about 2 months even though the mileage was about 88k, and they can't help with the cost. He suggested I should call Toyota corp. Office and open a case. I did it and explain the issue to Toyota corp. Guy. A few days later a Toyota rep called me and said he is sorry to say that he can't do anything, it is now my problem, I have to pay the repair bill (in the range of $2000) since the warranty passed only two months. Toyota is not covering this problem even though the problem is their fault since it is a mechanical/production problem, not related to a driver. Toyota only issued a technical bulletin for this problem, no recall at all. My Camry has only 88k miles on it and not covered it with the warranty. I find it not fair to penalize people who drives their cars at minimum and not have high mileage. If I have driven this car and put more miles, torque converter problems could have started earlier within the mileage limit. Toyota should recall all 2012-2014 Camry and fix the torque converters without any mileage limitations since it is their fault to put a defective transmission in their car.

At about 45mph there is a slipping or shuttering of what seems like the transmission. I thought it was a tire problem. Had checked. Tires are fine.
Problems with tranmission o shutters causing vehicle to jump and stale at 25pm and45mph.

During acceleration from 0 mph between speeds of 10mph and 40mph the vehicle hesitates when changing from 1st to second gear. During this hesitation, the vehicle acts very similar to a manual transmission. After about 2-3 seconds the vehicles transmission engages the gear and acts continues on as if nothing is wrong.

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. While driving between 25-50 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate. When the contact released the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would accelerate normally. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
Frequent hesitation in acceleration after slowing down and then re-accelerating. Also hesitates after turning or entering on a highway on-ramp. Have reported problem numerous times to dealer and have been told no problem can be detected. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed, as I have been nearly rear-ended several times.
Torque converter recall repair was performed incorrectly according to dealership shop. The car died on the ride home from the shop. We were told the fluid wasn't flushed during reassembly causing metal shards to disburse throughout the transmission. Since, the delay in acceleration is worse. There's at least 5 seconds from reverse to switch into drive. There's now a delay at stoplights. Code readers are saying solenoid a and d are either stuck open or closed. Dealership refused to assist other than offering to replace the transmission at full cost to me. Everytime we drive it has transmission issues. Prior to the torque converter replacement, it shuddered while driving. Purchased in 2016 with about 20k miles.
When accelerating from a stop the vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and then hesitate for about 1 to 2 seconds. It will then accelerate normally. One time the vehicle accelerated to about 20 mph and then the engine rpm returned to idle. The accelerator was pushed to the floor and the rpm remained at idle. The accelerator was released and pushed down again. The vehicle accelerated normally. This happened only one time. The intermittent hesitation is very dangerous when trying to cross a busy intersection when the cross traffic is uncontrolled.
While going down hill the transmission will downshift on it's own to lower gears and speed. While on the highway when trying to accelerate from a slower speed the transmission slams into gear. This has been going on for several years. The dealer said they can't get it to do it, and that there are no codes. It's is especially noticeable when you slow down then try to accelerate. It's now happening more frequently.
Transmission shutters on low speeds at 100k miles, should not be happening with a Toyota.
When the car starting sped have to stake and the car hold back for some ocation durin the trip in all street. Cuando en carro arraca da como un jalon y se aguanta. Esto lo sigue haciendo varias veces en todas las carreteras y cada vez lo hace MA seguido.
I just learned that my Toyota was covered under a restricted recall until 10/31/17. My car just recently started showing the same issues with vibration at 35-45mph. I would like this recall to be extended to cover all cars with this known issue.
My car jerks while trying to speed up til about 40 mph. I have to take off slow and build up speed to avoid jerking. Once I pass that speed everything is okay until I have to stop at the next light.
My car stalls then shifts or while driving it will shift gears slowing down then speeding up there is something wrong with the transmition. I am afraid to drive it as it can stall and I could get hit. I see there are a lot of complains on this some issue why has it not been recalled my car is a 2014 Camry I take good care of my car. But, I don't think that customers need to be paying for something that is clearly a factory issue I just had my transmition services less that 4 months ago and this started 2 weeks ago what can we as consumers due?? to get this resolved do people have to die to get this issue fixed?.

When entering freeway I press on gas peddle to increase speed the car hesitates before it picks up speeds. This can and could cause a serious accident. I have read many reports of this hesitation problem. I think it is time for a recall to fix this problem . Thank you.
The car hesitates for about 4 seconds when accelerating. It does not happen every time but rather randomly. It typically happens once a day (2 hours of driving). This is extremely dangerous when trying to get on the freeway or going through an intersection. It happens when driving around 15 to 25 mph. After the hesitation the car takes off very fast. The pattern seems to be if you are accelerating slightly as if to enter an intersection and then you take your foot off the pedal to coast (no brake applied) and then you try to accelerate again to get through the intersection. This has occurred since the first day the car was purchased so it is not a wear issue. I have been in many, many near miss situations. There are many people discussing this issue on the web so it is not just me. I even found one site where a Toyota service rep said they see 40 to 50 cars a week with this problem but they keep turning them away saying there is no problem because it is hard to make the problem happen when it is in for service. This is a huge safety issue that needs to be addressed.
First time I had a problem was may 24, 2015. Since then it has happened numerous times. The car hesitates when accelerating. It happens randomly; but have noticed since it has gotten hotter, it has been happening almost every day. It happens when trying to accelerate to get on the freeway, or after stopping and accelerating. It doesn't want to go when I step on the gas. It hesitates and it is a little frightening. It was recalled by the dealer one time, but whatever they did, it didn't fix this problem. The car only has 15,000 miles. I am concerned that as it gets older, the problem may get worse. I had a 2005 Camry for 9 years and never had this problem. I had read that numerous other Camry owners are having the same problem. Toyota needs to look into this problem as it is a safety concern--especially while driving on the freeway or driving through an intersection. I've always loved my Camry and it disappoints me to have this accelerating problem. It is a danger to me and other drivers. This happens both after being stopped at a light and also when driving about 40 mph on a city street or highway and freeway.
