Air Brake Problems of Toyota Camry

2002 Toyota Camry xle upon hitting the break car will continue to jump while still moving forward. It is happening more and more. Almost caused a couple of accidents.

Car was in reverse in a parking lot. Applied brakes but with no response. Car continued to move and hit another in the parking lot. This was the first time this happened. Contacted dealer and will take it in this Friday 7/9/2010.

On April 27, 2010, I was backing out of a parking space. I usually back out of a parking space very slowly so that I can stop at anytime. After I had cleared the parking space and before I could exchange gears, the car (2007 Toyota Camry) kept on reversing. I put my foot on the brake but the car did not stop. It stopped when it hit a van which was adjacent to a police car. Luckily the police officer witnessed the entire accident. When the police officer approached my car he stated that "I thought you were going to hit me. " I replied by saying "my car would not stop; I could stop the car. " I informed the police officer that when I put my foot on the brake, the car continued to accelerate. The police report indicates that there was a problem with the acceleration. This statement is also want the mechanic said when he put the car in reverse to work on the car.

2003 Toyota Camry anti lock brakes this situation has existed from the day I have bought this car. When the Camry rumbles over a bumpy road and I step on the brake pedal applying constant pressure the brakes are non responsive. The brakes do not stop the car. The brakes only start to work once the car is no longer over bumpy road. I have spoken to many Camry owners and they have indicated the same braking failure. Toyota indicates this is normal. How can Toyota be allowed to not fix a failure of their braking system? when is the government going to address this problem? you have had brake failure complaints like this for years and have not done anything about this!.

I have a 2004 Toyota Camry solara and the brakes on my car are not as accurate as they should be. I recently had my brakes repaired in Dec. 2009 at sandy springs Toyota in atlanta and was still not pleased with the resistance of the brakes. I am concerned that the 2004 Camry solara should be researched further due to the brakes. Often times I have to press my brakes to the floor before they stop completely.
