Exterior Lighting Problems of Toyota Camry - part 2

My car was parked at work in March, 2017. The vehicle next to me was a BMW SUV. About one hour and fifteen minutes later the BMW burst into flames causing fire damage to my vehicle. The insurance company for the BMW has closed the claim saying the fire was not intentional therefore they are not paying anything for my claim. My insurance company is paying for repairs to my car, however, I have to pay the deductible and cost of a rental car. After this happened I saw several news reports of BMW's bursting into flames after being turned off for a while. They said I was 0% at fault (obviously), but it does not seem fair that I have to pay anything for this incident. All I did was park my car; my car did not have any problems with it. I hope you will continue to investigate this problem. I feel several incidents are far too many for BMW to ignore. They certainly have more money than I do. I have photos, video, etc.

During Aug 2016 I went to get some lunch and when I turned off the parking ramp the car was fine. Once I entered on to the fwy and approached the speed of 50 my steering wheel froze and would not turn either way. I could not slow down on the fwy for fear of being hit, so I just stayed in my lane and begin to exit coming to a complete stop in the middle of the street because I could not turn the wheel once I came to a stop I had help getting the car to my house and called aaa to tow the car to a repair shop by my job and found out the power steering unit just stopped. He said he had never seen that. I also had to replace the racknpenion. The light where you shift gears went out, so can't see at night what gear I'm in. Drive or reverse.

2010 Toyota Camry. Consumer writes in regards to scratches/cracks and mis-alignment of passenger side head light, split seam on front side panel and rear quarter panel damages. The consumer noticed a split seam on the front panel, where the vehicle connected to the fender. Also, the bumper was detached from the vehicle.

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph came to an intersection and did not see the stop sign. The contact went around to verify why I missed the stop sign to find that the low beam projector head lights system only illuminated the immediate area in front of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was advised by the manufacturer that the low beam head light system was designed to illuminate that way. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1200. Bp.

The head lights on high beam have gone out while driving, low beam works but very scary driving and lights just go out. Now only low beam works just wondering when they might go out while driving. Did some investigating to see how to fix and noticed that I am far from being alone on this one. When is someone going to step up and make Toyota make this right with owners. Since the only fix seams to be replacing whole head light assembly at 2400. 00 a pair !!! because replacing bulb will just blow out again and again . Ran my VIN number no current recall this is a bunch of bull.

I had a wreck in Jan. , 7th, 2005. I was traveling below the speed limit and the lady in front of me was dead stopped and I cold not stop my car. I hit her stopped car, doing 45 mph and my airbags did not deploy! now the airbag on the passenger side, is not right. It has moved and separated as if it is about to pop open, since the wreck and the people that did the service on my car to fix the front end (via my insurance CO. - usaa) have had it looked at and they will not do anything about it. The cover has moved even more, since my wreck in Jan. 7th, 2015 and I am really scared. My 84 year old mother and my service dog ride in the passenger seat. Please help me before it deploys in her face!.

I was hit by a speeding driver in cross traffic. (a lot of people a running through red lights!) the front bumper and grill area was badly damaged, right headlamp assembly was torn off and hood was buckled. My seat belt did not stop me from being thrown forward and the airbag did not deploy, causing my head to hit the windshield, breaking the glass. I received medical attention for my head injury. Two safety systems that failed. My car has been "totaled" by the insurance company.

Bumper to bumper traffic during rush hour; Dodge truck w/trailer hitch stopped on a dime; I ran into back of truck; but then my car lunged forward on its own accord and I hit the truck a second time. I had my foot on the brake and it lunged! car is in the shop but I still have not found out what the cost of damage will be or the time frame for repairs. It has lunged before; but I have not been in an accident before this because of the sudden accerleration.

On the above date, as I prepared to park at the dollar general store, 200 brush creek hwy, alexandria, TN 37012, the vehicle jumped the curb went down in a ditch and collided with a parked church bus. The accelerator on this vehicle stuck and caused me to lose control of this vehicle. I had no control over the accelerator at the time of this accident.

Glare due to melted dashboard cause delay reaction due to poor visibility resulting in double impact. The dashboard issue looks to be a cosmetic issue but it really should be a recall as it is clearly a poor manufacturing product that when in contact with the sun turns into a shinny sticky residue that reflects the direct light right into DE driver and passenger's face. Toyota should stand by their product and replace the poorly designed dashboards before a fatality occurs.

Car was being driven in the city of chicago at a slow speed. . . Brakes went to the floor. . . Avoided hitting another car and pedestrian and then hit a tree near a home. Car was towed by aaa to a aaa service shop. . . . Marathon- western/toughy who inspected the vehicle and determined both brake lines failed. . . Rusted through and they see this condition alot with Toyota's of this age as the brake lines are covered up by a plate that traps salt and moisture. Toyota claims contacted and denied any design fault of material defect. . Even though it has stainless steel brake lines that this mechanice and shop constantly sees do this exact corrosion problem. I have owned eight Toyotas. . . Never experienced even a brake leak but a full catastrophic failure in this 1999 model is ridiculous and Toyota is walking away from any responsibility on their part. Ntsb should be recall all 1999's solora and Camry's . . . Force Toyota to pay for repairs before more of these accidnets occur. . .

Driving at night got stopped by NJ state trooper for having drivers light out. Flipped light handle on and off light came back on. Ten minutes later had the same problem.

The 1999 Toyota Camry solara had a film that had built up on the drivers side and front passenger side lenses which was difficult to clean. The lenses had been replaced several times but the film continued to impact the visibility of the low beams and high beams. The front passenger side low beam shorted twice and was replaced. The O2 sensor failed and had to be replaced as well. The manufacturer needs to replace the lenses with a more translucent lense for the head lamps to prevent a failure of poor visibility. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000. Dyd.

Dash light intensity changes from very bright to very dim while driving, dealer states they can't reproduce. This problem is very distracting while driving. I have made a video on my phone to show them what is happening, the response is. . . . . . Yes there is a problem but we can't fix if we cant duplicate?.

Stop with traffic in front. Car hits me into traffic from be hind vary fast damage to frone and back swashed my car. Air bags did not go off for a fast hit front and back all at the same bag. That is what making me scared of being in the car.

Last year on August 2012, my car stop running and I brought to one of the mechanic that towed and fixed my water pump. This year, I brought my car to Toyota dealer for some recalls and find out that my antifreeze is entered to my water pump again and need to replace with new one. . . Total cost will be more than 650. 00 dollars. I wonder if there any recall for this matter before or do I have to deal with the same problem every years!!! please investigate this problem. Thanks.

This car is definetly a lemon ive put more money into than the car is worth and still doesnt work the dealer rock Chevrolet knew of issues with this car but still sold it tried to have it fixed thru them but they were rude and wouldnt do it.

When I check the rear lights of my Toyota, I perceived that one of the rear lights won't turn on when I turn it on. Then I check the same light from others 6 Toyota Camry 2004 and I perceive that all car have the same problem with that left rear side light.

Power steering make grinding when turning,brakes squeaking when backing,a/. C have bad smell when I turn off the a/c leak lots of water,when I stop and took off the car skid and a light abs light on the panel. I spoke to the mgr and he toll me was normal when a/c off open the outside air to the smell go away. And for the steering he sad the car has electronic power steering and for brakes cause dirthy and out of adjustment. On Feb 16 I took the car again for brakes then nothing wrong stillmaking the clicking noise then a month after I get a letter for the recall but same problems still there I just want know if any recalls on this issues that I write in this letter for my concerns and safe which I don't feel safe driving this car it has 18. 000 miles.

My visor on the driver side was wobbling around and would get in my way of driving numerous times. One day the entire visor finally just fell off and within two weeks my passenger side visor did the same thing. This should be a recall, it impairs your driving when the visor starts malfunctioning and if the sun is out and there is now now visor, the glare could prevent a driver from seeing someone or another vehicle. Toyota needs to step up and cover this issue.

We bought the car new off the show room floor in 2008 the left head light stop working $375. 00 to replace this is with me doing the work. In 2014 the right head light stop working I went to Toyota and ask if any one was having a problem with this and was there a recall on it was told no. This time it was $500. 00 to fix the problem and this was me doing the work after looking at the web site looks as if Toyota has a problem and does not want to address it I see other people have the same problem. Is it going to take someone getting killed to get them to look into the problem and fix it.

The riders side front low beam head light operates intermittently. We received a fix it ticket; but the light worked the next day and got the ticket signed off. However the riders side low beam light continues to work and not work intermittently. Out mechanic told us the high intensity light module needs to be replaced. It seems to me this is a safety issue Toyota should address.

The day time running lights do not shut off when the ignition is off. The only temporary resolution was to disconnect the battery so that the battery would not die.

Hi, the front panel lights of Toyota Camry 2007 are too bright and there is no adjustment point where the drivers can control the brightness. The light is too bright that it distracts the view in the night driving also it makes the eyes tired so quickly. . Toyota should help to fix this problem . .

Drivers side low beam (hid) for my 2007 toyt solara sport 4cyl has been turning off. I'm unsure if this is the sign of ithe bulb going out or if it is simply shutting off. It comes back on and has been working, then it will happen again.

My new car has a vor lens which results in half the windshield darkened during low beam use. This ece style lighting is totally distracting and I believe dangerous in a dark, rural setting. Motorists are refusing to beam down when approaching since theyre uncomfortable with half the windshield dark! off the main roadway has its problems when more than half the window becomes very dark, very quickly. Over use of high beams will have unintended consequences. Original sae lighting should be available for retrofit for the north american market.

The passenger side headlamp turns off after approx. Two minutes. I can turn the lights off then back on and the light will come back on. Then approx. 2 minutes later it will turn off again. I have replaced the bulb twice already. Toyota stated they can take a look at it to try to determine the problem, but they want to charge me for it. I believe this is a safety defect and not normal wear and tear.
