1 Seat Belt problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 08/13/2025

Driver side seat belt doesnt click in and causes car to beep and no seatbelt warning to always be on.

2 Seat Belt problem of the 2019 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 07/31/2025

The vehicle is experiencing multiple active safety system failures, severely impacting driver control and passenger protection. The most critical issue is a persistent srs airbag malfunction warning, along with the system failing to detect that the seatbelt is buckled, even when properly latched. This disables key safety systems such as airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. The vehicle also suffers from delayed or weak braking response, despite having adequate brake pad wear. This is especially dangerous in stop-and-go traffic or emergency braking scenarios. In addition, the adaptive cruise control system intermittently disengages or fails to maintain distance, and the brake hold feature does not reliably hold the vehicle when stopped, causing rollback or unintended movement. These issues are consistent with known failure conditions already documented in the following recalls: – NHTSA recall 21v-890 – brake booster vacuum pump failure – NHTSA recall 19v567000 – occupant classification system calibration error however, Toyota has refused to acknowledge these defects in this case because the vehicle does not fall under the original recall VIN ranges. This creates a serious safety concern, as the same defective behavior exists outside the recalled population, and is being left unaddressed. This not only places me at risk of airbag and braking failure, but puts other drivers and pedestrians at great danger due to the potential for system failure during high-risk moments such as highway driving, stoplight braking, or crash avoidance maneuvers. A broader investigation into the root cause and expansion of the affected VIN scope is urgently needed before serious injury or loss of life occurs.

3 Seat Belt problem of the 2020 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 06/28/2025

I was in an accident, going about 40mph (about 30mph at time of impact), and no airbags were deployed. Police officer reported that he also did not see that the tension of the seat belt remained tense after the crash. Seems that there was a problem with both systems. The other vehicle had all their airbags deploy.

4 Seat Belt problem of the 2024 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 04/20/2025

The seat belt on the right side in the second row failed to work. My son-in-law was sitting in that position when I, who was driving, began to proceed through an intersection when I thought the light had turned green. When I realized I was wrong, I slammed on the brakes. His seatbelt did not arrest his forward movement, and he hit the back of the right front passenger seat. Thank goodness I had only been going about 5 mph. Also, the belt did not retract afterwards. For the remaining two blocks of our trip, he had a few feet of slack seat belt in front of him. I have not yet reported the issue to Toyota.

5 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 03/19/2025

While driving my car it showed an srs airbag system malfunction contact your dealership message. On March 19,2025 we took our car into the dealership, and they stated the car was drivable, but if we were in a head on collision the seatbelt would not tighten to keep us from hitting the steering wheel/dashboard/windshield. The part was not available and would be ordered to be installed within approximately two weeks. As of today, after contacting Toyota north America (reference #250616000216) the replacement part #73370-06120-ao is still not available to our dealership for repair of this seatbelt safety part.

6 Seat Belt problem of the 2018 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 03/19/2025

A complaint was filed on 08/07/2025 with no response from NHTSA (complaint #116789863) about the part which Toyota is still not able to provide to ensure the safety of individuals in the car if an accident were to occur. This has been an ongoing issue since March 19,2025. Toyota just sent another update stating the part will possibly be available late September. We need a resolution as to when or if the part will be available so our car can be safely driven.

10 Seat Belt problem of the 2025 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 09/19/2024

The Camry that I bought produced the dash warning message "srs airbag system malfunction". The dealer in madison WI examined it and isolated the failure to the passenger side rear sealtbelt sensor. The dealership has held the vehicle for 4 weeks as of today, oct 18, 2024 and the service dept update states the replacement part isn't expected for another 4 weeks. Obviously I am irritated to not have a quality vehicle to drive after spending nearly $40k. I am officially alerting NHTSA of this problem, thank you. 11 Seat Belt problem of the 2021 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 08/14/2024

The srs airbag system malfunction appears on the instrument cluster and will not go away. It hinders me from seeing my speed and other features on my car; it is annoying as well. The seatbelt dinger goes off constantly and will not stop, it has been long enough for Toyota to come up with a remedy to correct the issue. The issue right now is NHTSA not doing their job and making Toyota do their job and fix the issue of the air bags. The nhsta is a worthless company that does nothing for the consumer, a waste of money just like the rest of the government. Do nothing for the people is the governments motto.

It only kept becoming tighter around his stomach area. Seatbelt had to be cut with scissors to become released/untangled. I was informed by carlock Toyota in tupelo, mississippi that a safety feature was not in place to release the seatbelt if one became caught in it and it would not release. 28 Seat Belt problem of the 2022 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 10/01/2022

The auxillary for the music has a short in it and everytime a bump is hit it knocks it loose and it shuts off the whole thing. The screen and maps and music. The screen also freezes and my maps and route stopped working. I had to pull off the road to turn my car off to reset it. I have to do this multiple times if I'm using my screen for directions/maps. It's frustrating and annoying when u expect a brand new vehicle to work properly. It started a few weeks after I took it off the dealership. It also wouldn't connect to bluetooth very well that's why I had to use the cord. I keep my phone and cord stationary. With the bluetooth it would just disconnect completely or have static or breaks in whatever I'm listening to. When I hit a bump and the whole system gets turned off sometimes and it doesn't want to come back on when I touch the button. It seems that the whole system is glitching and if u depend on maps/directions to travel it makes things difficult. The next issue I had is with the seatbelt. I couldn't get it to release so I can put it on. The car was started but we hadn't pulled out or put it in any gear and the break was not pushed in. We had to turn it completely off again and wait a few minutes and restart it again. This is dangerous. I hope that the company looks at these complaints and fixes them because they r very scary. U expect a brand new vehicle to not have any issues especially at the prices we pay for them. We bought our vehicle in 2022 and had to wait over 6 weeks for it to arrive because it was ordered. Right now it 08/2025 and we r just now hitting the 30,000 mile marker on our vehicle. We don't drive it much but when we do it's long distances because we live out in the country and it's 45-60 minutes to town and these things can't be happening. Also I use my maps often because these r curvy small back roads where I live and not well marked if I'm going to a new location and I need my auxillary system to work right.

29 Seat Belt problem of the 2013 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 09/14/2022

1. The seatbelts in the back seat doesnt not work. It is not strapping and clicking. I am unable to properly strap in my nephew's carseat properly. This not a dealership issue this a manfacturer issue and it needs to be recalled. God forbidden that I get into an accident with my nephew in the car. 2. Recently the car handles on the driver's side both of broken off from the car. I am unable to open my car properly. I dont understand why it broke off I didnt pull on it hard one day it just came 3. The child lock option doesnt work one day I was driving on the high way and my nephew was open to open the back door with the child lock button on. These are major issues that need to be investigated and recalled. 4. The door on the passenger side in the back does not open from the inside. Again dangerous because what if there is a fire and my passengers can't get out.
