Tl the contact owns a 2000 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the passenger side tail light was cracked and failed to illuminate. The failure was due to the tailgate metal being exposed to water. Also, the tail light warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to performance Toyota (5676 dixie hwy, fairfield, OH 45014, (888) 928-4767) where it was diagnosed that the plastic housing was cracked and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was due to a design flaw. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 1812100983. The failure mileage was 38,983.

The Toyota Camry has been rear ended by a Ford explorer 2002 between 40-50mph, damaging the trunk, bumper tail lights, right rear side, left side body and spare tire compartment. At the moment of the accident, were the driver and three more adult passengers inside of the vehicle on their respective seats wearing properly the seat belts at the time of the accident, the driver from the Ford explorer was distracted looking for a radio remote control without notice the traffic almost stop when the driver of the Ford explorer back his attention to the traffic was too late even as he manifest he has no time to press the brake pedal. After we inspect the damages I notice the airbag and seat belt light on the dashboard are on even when the car is in motion but no air bag has been deploy there is a pictures and video available for any future investigation upon request.

Rear tail light housing melted from the heat of the bulb. Bulb had been changed half of dozen times since we bought car. It was a Toyota certified used car with 35000 miles on it when it was bought. It is only the right side rear taillight that has been effected. It seems that the bulbs burn out more consistently now.

1997 Toyota Camry le / many electrical problems related to various tail lights / turn signals / brake lights not working. Now it seems the headlights are burning dimly. New bulbs make no difference. Seems to be a design engineering issue overall with respect to electrical system on this year / model of car.
