Vehicle Shudder Problems of Toyota Camry - part 1

I was in the drive thru queue at burger king and I had the brake hold activated, waiting for my turn. The car just vibrated and shut down. I tried to start it again it never started. On the dash it said coolant temp high, charging system malfunction, drive start control malfunction,brake override malfunction. I thought I needed antifreeze so I walked to sunoko to buy one. Tried to put some in but antifreeze was full so I couldn't top up. The antifreeze is in the trunk. I tried to get a jump thinking it was the battery but it still didn't start. I towed to Toyota and now they're telling me the computers are not communicating right with each other. My gas says 65535mi distance to empty. My car is been sitting at the dealership for a week now and they didn't give me a loaner car even though I have warranty on it.

When one starts the car by pushing the start bottom, the car will start to shake and soon a very load cracking and rattling noise will began coming from the engine. Engine light will come on while driving in the city and then turns off causing the driver to be aware of some issue. Once the concerning noise goes away the car continues to shake but eventually stops after a while. This could make the car to stall and causing a potential crash. The vehicle left blind side detector does not respond 100%, it only works about 60% of the time. This causes the driver to think he/she are clear to turn to the left lane in the city and highway and it can cause the driver to hit another car and potentially crashing. The screen panel glitches from time to time while driving in the highway causing the driver to not be able to see and locate radio stations or manipulate the panel.

Between 40-55mph at light acceleration the vehicle begins shaking and shuttering while in automatic if switched into manual mode I have not been able to get the problem to occur. 128,000miles on the vehicle. If hard acceleration is applied issue does not seem to occur.

2014 with 83000 mile I having issues that my car shudder after the second speed 20 mph and up 50/60 miles started to do this about a week ago, and now is getting worse oil levels are fine.

Camry shudders badly at speeds between 25-40 mph when shifting gears in automatic transmission. Toyota has a TSB on this shudder but not my vechicle for some reason. During car shudders and heisitates making it feel unsafe.

The way the car handles is horrible. When I slow down it speeds up and when I take off from a light it doesnt seem to want to go my rmp hits about 4 before it smooths out. I sware other cars think I want to race. I did advice the sales men when he asked what I thought about the car and he said because of a new modle of transmission. I do not like the way the car shakes and feels like its going to cut off. It is fine on the high way. I am just diappointed in my purchace and for the first time out of all 5 Toyotas ive had that I wish I wouldnt have bought it. I was fine in my 2012 wish I would have kept it.

This is my third Toyota car that I buy as a brand new car and I was so excited about grtting a 2018 Camry se but am very disspoint it with this situation man so this is whats happening to the car the vehicle has issues with the transmission there are times when the car can't seem to decide what gear to pick and when to engage it resulting in a second or two of dead acceleration once the vehicle decides what to do, it sends an excessive amount of power to the wheels with unintended acceleration rates. This has been an issue since I bought the car so please let me know what we can do because I dont like how this brand new transmission works. 2. The second pronlem is that that car start shaking when am going over 70 miles per hour on the highway and I know exactly that is not with balance and not alighnmrnt because idont feel the steering wheel shaking I fell the shaking is comming from the engine I can guaranteed u that is coming from there because when I stop accelareting it goes away but once I accelerate again starts that vibration again so Toyota needs to be more specific and making sure that they're customer are 100%% happy with their car and stop testing this brand news platform with the people money because I can telk u that at least 40 percent of the people they are regreting of buying this car just because this kinda of problem so I wish theres a remedy tgat Toyota it might xonsidering to fix this inds of problem which I hate about it st all.

Hi I recently purchased a 2018 Toyota Camry in September with 7,000 miles on it and now it has almost 8,000 miles on it. After 1 week of purchase I am having some problems especially with the engine and transmission. Engine because I am feeling a lose of power when accelerating and not smooth when driving also it is noisy when you start the car. Also when at a full stop I can feel the vehicle shake and when you put your foot on the gas pedal and drive at 20 mph you can feel the pedal shake. Transmission because I can feel the transmission jerking and when you put it on drive it doesn't feel like you are on drive it feels like you are on neutral driving because of how rough it is when you accelerate. I also went to the dealer for this matter but they couldn't do anything. Please help me because I am very frustrated with Toyota because many of my family members have Toyotas and they never had this issue. The car is good but the lack of performance has disappointed me because Toyotas have a great reputation and now they are just giving that all up just to save money on fixing this issue that's what I feel that they are doing. Thats why I am disappointed with Toyota and there engineering because I feel that they put in too much for the redesigned part but not the performance part.

This happened to the vehicle repeatedly and under 1000 miles on the odometer. Upon acceleration the car hesitates and after a few seconds if will finally go with a jerking to the passengers. It also has a problem accelerating on the highway, it seems to lack the power to pass anyone when in traffic. At approximately 75 miles per hour the car began to shake also. When moving into different gears the car would also feel as if it were jerking into gears. Seems to be worse on cold starts but was definitely still a problem after driving and having time to warm up.

Oil consumption. Drive car a lot of shaking vibration. Turn on ac an engine noise. When load is put. Transmission rpm aroundv40mph to 45mph weird vibration and hesitation. This car engine and transmission not good.

As I am accelerating between 20-50 mph the car shudders. I called my local Toyota dealership and they want to charge me a diagnostic fee of $140 just to see if that is the problem. My son has a 2014 and my daughter has a 2015 and all have the same exact problem. I have 110,000 miles on my car, my son 80,000 and my daughter 70,000 miles. This should be a recall since we all have the same exact problem. I am afraid as we are accelerating to enter the freeway and the car is stalling we might get hit from behind. Its definitely a safety issue!.

When I step on the gas at low speed, normally between 30-50mph my car vibrates or shudders. It only does this when I'm trying to maintain those lower speeds, so the pedal is just barely being pressed down. Once I'm on the highway above 50mph I don't have any issues.

There are several issues. First sticky dash board . . Was told I'm being put on a waiting list for part. It's been months still no word. 2nd oil consumption is ridiculous. . Oil runs out way before it's time for oil change every time . . No oil leaks anywhere . . Car just burns oil super fast never experienced this with any car I've owned . . 3rd the car vibrates when in you hit around 40 mph at 1. 5 rpm doesnt do it as much when car doesnt go in overdrive in 4th gear . . Was told this may be a computer programing issue . . 4th my driver side back seat mat is melted to the floor. I was told something under the car may be getting to hot. Never got any real answers to my concerns .

This vehicle shudders and vibrates as it accelerates between 20 to 30 mph and also from 40 to 50 mph. Toyota issued a recall to fix this problem and I took the car in. The fix has not worked and the issue is getting worse. What do I do?.

I started noticing the problem a couple months after I bought the vehicle, it hesitates and shakes hard upon acceleration. The car was recalled for torque inverter repair. The problem still persisted. Took back to the dealer two more times, but they insisted that they can't duplicate my concern. The car shakes hard when driving at 20-30 m/h and most of the time at 40-50 m/h. It is a safety issue on the hwy as it doesn¿t accelerate fast enough to keep up with the speed limit. The problem has not been resolved.

The dates above are approximate as my car is back at the dealership. The car would vibrate at 20, 40 and 60 mph it would also lose power when taking off from a stop. I got the run around I bought new tires had an aligned changed the fuel being used. Finally they said it was my tranmission. They replaced the tranmission and did a software update. I am now at 100,000 and having the exact same problem. I am convinced this is a known issue from what I see online I have no idea why Toyota hasn't officially ordered a recall! I believe I have a lemon and they should replace my car! my 16 year old daughter was driving she took off from a stop sign and was almost hit from the side the car was vibrating and wouldn't accelerate. This is a very dangerous issue. My car is currently back at pat lobb Toyota waiting on their diagnosis once again!.

I have a 2012 Toyota Camry that I purchased new from the military car sales in ansbach, germany. I first experienced the problem in August 2012 when the car would shift it would shudder. At first I thought it to be a fuel problem but it was not. After a few months it got worse. I was in traffic driving off from a stop light and the car shuddered and did not gain speed and I was almost rear ended until I put the car in the "s" gear setting and manually downshifted toe 2nd for more power. That was the temporary solution while driving in the city. Winter days present more issues. I can't drive the car right now because its getting worse. My problem is that I have presented this problem to my dealer, their management, Toyota germany in my local area but no one can seem to figure out the funding issue for the 60/60 warranty (power train). I tried to get it settled before I hit the 60000 mile mark but I needed the car daily for work. I have since arranged for public transportation use and I have parked the car as of today for good. I was told it would cost me $6000 to repair. I have chased this since I took it to Toyota ramstein, germany for the initial look. They said they had no idea what the problem was and perhaps it was the trans mission which would cost at least 3500 euros which is about $6000. The issue almost caused me an accident in traffic twice! I found through the army air force exchange car care center. I took the car when I experienced more issues and the tech bulletin is the exact problem I am experiencing. It says in the bulletin that it is covered by the power train warranty 60 months or 60000 miles. I even produced the tech bulletin to the dealer and the mechanics! I have gone to the dealer but to no avail they are not able to help me. They tried but I have not heard from them in over a month. I need a car!!!.

2011 Camry le - the vehicle doesn't seem to know what gear it wants to be in after a stop light or stop sign. I can press the gas pedal and the car minimally responds, slowly moving and then suddenly going as if the transmission is slipping. If I drive it like I stole off ever stop sign/stop light it would do alright but you really have to stomp it off the light and I don't drive that way. Again the transmission is messed up and Toyota doesn't acknowledge it! also, on the highway at approx 70-75 and letting off the gas the car has a shudder which is unsettling while on the highway. . . . Sometimes I expect the engine to die or the transmission fall out. I have called Toyota and had the car serviced by the service manager, service dept etc without any resolution. I would have thought a transmission flush would be the first thing but they have never done that!! the dealership cleaned my throttle body sensor??? (why?), synced my computer multiple times and then the service manager said it could be a "computer" issue much like the old corollas and I just need to get use to it. I'm done with Toyota, this is my second one and both of them had issues that were never resolved!.

When applying the brakes to my well-maintained 2000 Camry v6 with 88,000 miles on it, the car often shudders and vibrates just before it comes to a stop. I usually have to put the car in neutral to eliminate the vibration, but that is a very unsafe tactic. The dealer replaced a wheel bearing but that had no effect. Now the dealer thinks that the shudder/vibration problem is caused by the transmission and it has to be replaced at a cost of $5000-$6000, which is about twice what the car is worth. It is hard to believe that the transmission would fail so early unless it was defective. Since the problem occurs during braking, it clearly is a dangerous problem.

On December 31, 2008, I purchased a new 2009 Toyota Camry se from marietta Toyota. The car has a persistent hesitation problem which makes the car unsafe in many situations. I had an incident around February 20, 2010 where the hesitation problem almost caused an accident. I was pulling into traffic on south cobb drive from a grocery store parking lot. Traffic flow demanded that I merge into traffic briskly without delay - something I expect to be able to do with a $30,000 v6 Toyota Camry. I gave the car gas and it hesitated horribly. The engine died down then finally went with such force that the car vibrated violently as the front wheels spun out. The car would not go. As traffic approached I was scared and really appreciative of the drivers who slowed down. I have brought the car to the dealership and reported the problem three times. The first time I was told that this is the way the car works and that I would get used to it. After driving the car for over a year and just over 20,000 miles, I am absolutely not used to it. The second time I brought the car to the service department at marietta Toyota they did something to the computer software. This did nothing to improve the cars performance. On my third visit I spoke with a representative in the service department. He was very polite and honest. Representative told me that in his opinion (he stated many times making sure that I understood that this was his opinion) Toyota made a mistake in how they designed the transmission and computer software. Representative explained to me that Toyota tried to make the transmission stay in the highest gear possible at all times to save gas and that when the accelerator was pressed the computer took a few moments to determine which gear it should downshift to. He said that he had many people (40 to 50 per week) complain about the same thing I was complaining about. He said he thought it was a definite problem with the car and that there was nothing that could be done.

I was in a multi-storey car park and I spotted a free space 20 yards ahead. I took my foot off the accelerator, and the vehicle begun to lose speed normally. I applied the brake gently to turn right into an empty spot. I was braking to a halt at an appropriate distance from a retaining wall when suddenly, with no warning, the Toyota lurched forward at an incredible rate of acceleration, struck the wall then bounced back several feet and the engine cut out. I suffered severe neck trauma, due first to the sudden acceleration and then the impact. The airbag did not deploy despite the fact that the damage to the front of the car was according to an expert consistent with an impact speed of 30 to 35 mph. Earlier in the same trip, I was stopped at traffic lights with the car in drive and my foot on the brake. Suddenly the car vibrated and lurched against the brake, trying to move ahead. I had to brake hard to prevent it from doing so. The lights changed and I proceeded towards the parking garage where the accident described above subsequently occurred. The damage to the front of the car has not yet been fixed and the car has not been used since the accident. I reported this accident to Toyota customer service who arranged for someone from their local service company to examine the vehicle at the body shop where it was located. The main conclusion of their examination was that they found no problem with the brakes. In fact, my complaint was not about the brakes, which had always worked perfectly normally. Their report also said "we are happy that you did not sustain injuries in this incident". I am sorry to inform them that I am still suffering from severe back and neck pain from the injuries that I sustained.
