I put a suitcase in the trunk on its side. It was touching the inside top of the trunk. In removing the suitcase the spring mechanism , that holds the trunk open, was dislodged. This caused the trunk lid to fall heavily on me.

Since moving to san antonio, TX 8/30/16 my dashboard has begun melting and has become tacky and shiny. The glare hits my windshield making it unsafe to drive at times. I brought the car in for recall repairs on 10/31/16 and asked if there were any other known issue. I was not made aware of the warranty enhancement until 10/25/17 and was informed I missed the 5/25/17 deadline. The car is not safe to drive and I believe this should be a recall issue and not a warranty issue.

While stopped in traffic and foot on break, camry was moving forward while my foot firmly on the break . I pushed even more however the vehicle was moving forward and break was not effective. Fearing of hitting the car informs of me I quickly pushed the great from drive to park position. Vehicle came to stop 1 inch from front car reare bumper. This was on city street in san francisco about 200 yards from 80east entrance, no rain, about 70 degree 6:45 pm. After pushing the gear to park I turn off the vehicle and start it back up. I felt the break pedal getting harder and break was firm and put the vehicle on the drive.

The abs light and check vsc light and brake light went on. When I tried to apply brakes to stop, I realized that the brakes completely failed. The car was skidding and keep going and I pumped the brakes and still the car was moving forward. I came close to hitting another car and luckily stopped couple of inches from the other car. It keeps happening often and I am worried to drive this car as it is. It works fine and suddenly goes to this brake failing mode. Especially happen more often if it rains and making it more dangerous.
I'm responding to the known issue. I have a sticky shiny dashboard that chips very easily. It feels like paint that's not cured.
My car has hit 171073 and is the 2nd time or 3 time that saids "check vsc system"and my stability control is notbworking propertly the dealer said is something normal with this year mkd and model of the car please help.
Brakes went soft, loud squealing noise all lights on dashboard and check vsc system.
When shifted into reverse while car not on or when car on but key not detected or during delay between key detection car will roll backwards but will not allow driver to drive forward.
Rear view mirror, night time driving, viewing of vehicles approaching from rear is distorted by the bright image that appears in the mirror. This make driving unsafe as your eyes have to readjust to viewing the roadway ahead of you. Plus it makes it very difficult to judge the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle behind yours.
When I change break pads and rotors the vsc system light is on. . Breaks no engaged.
While driving on a straight road on 3 separate occasions I lost all control of my brakes and my "check vsc light", brake light and abs lights came on. I was not able to stop my car like normal and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. It was very scary while driving.
My panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered on my 2015 Camry Hybrid. I was entering the 101 freeway in paso robles, CA, traveling south into very light traffic (1:30 p. M. ). Approx. 3/4 of a mile later into my freeway transition there was a explosion-like sound. My initial response was to look out my back window, where I noticed dark-colored glass was flying away from the car. A freeway overpass was not in play, I was traveling a full lane away from the north bound center divider, and the area to the immediate right of my car was a grassy area. My car was not hit by a foreign object; stone, bolt, etc. , as there was no other damage to the vehicle. Upon taking my car to the Toyota dealership, I was informed that it could have only been caused by an flying object like a stone. However, as I searched the internet, I became aware thatexploding /shattering sunroofs has not been a occasional happening, as hundreds of testimonies on the internet indicate otherwise. Most all auto manufacturers are involved. Nbc-tv new york, on February 24, 2015 did a news piece on this very subject. I would strongly encourage the NHTSA to thoroughly investigate this important matter.
Limited visibility thru windshield due to dashboard reflection (melting dashboard has caused a high gloss finish). This condition has become progressively worse over time and presents a serious safety hazard. Toyota has created a warranty enhancement program to replace these defective dashboards, however, my dealership has indicated the dashboards are limited and said he has a customer already waiting 6 months. I talked with Toyota customer service and they would not acknowledge this as a safety hazard, could not tell me when a replacement dashboard would be available and referred me back to the dealership. Toyota doesn't seem compelled to replace these parts in a timely manner. In my opinion this is most definitely a serious safety hazard that needs to be addressed and should be classified as a recall and not a ¿warranty enhancement". Please see attached images.
When I purchased the car in 2015. I was informed that a recall was going to take place on the dash board. This was due to the fact that sun was making a sticky glaze to form. This is hazardous because it often creates a blinding glare during the day while driving and even while parked.
Toyota failed to replace melting/sticky dashboard after 6 month from the initial inspection. (1) the melting/stickyness of the dashboard releasing toxic fume likely have long term effects on ones health, and (2) the shiny/reflective surface the dashboard creates a safety hazard for drivers.
The driver side sun visor does not stay up and is a danger to drive and causes limited vision to see the road. This seems to be a widespread problem with camrys.
The Toyota Camry Hybrid shows the "check vsc system" message on the dashboard with the brake, hazard, warning, and abs lights. Upon research it seems like a known Toyota issue with their faulty abs accumulator. The replacement cost is a staggering $2500+ quoted by the dealers. Without replacing it affects the brake systems. There is pulsating in the brakes. There is also water pump leak associated with this. This should be handled by Toyota with a recall. There are lots of reporting for this same issue and fixing this issue is so costly and for a know failed/fauly component.
When I was driving at 65 mph. . The check vsc system warning came on. This happened about 1 month ago. I thought nothing of it because it went off after I started the car again. . . So 3 weeks later it comes on again and goes off. When it cane on the brakes didn't work as well, and all of the warning lights were on. Yesterday on 3/25/2015 it came on and has now stayed on. The brakes are working correctly, however, I know something is wrong. I have been researching this issue and found out that Toyota is assisting with fixing this issue. M y next step is to call them.
Interior head lining is coming down. It started on the back windshield. It was hanging down so I see it when I use my rear view mirror. Now it is coming off on the driver side front windshield. Also front driver visor. Also sticky dashboard.
I had pulled into a parking space, foot on the brake, and hand on shift to put in park, when sudden acceleration started, and could not be stopped by me, my foot was still on the brake, the car was headed to go thru a laboratory window(people inside) I prayed not to hit the building, then my left hand turned the steering wheel fast to the left, missed the lab, and hit the corner of a wall.

I was driving the vehicle and had the sun glare of the dashboard which has completely melted, I was unable to see the car in front of me which came to a complete stop. Given the glare of the dashboard which has melted completely due to intense sun from florida I was involved in a car accident since I cannot see car in front of me due to the large glare. My defect in the car is that the dashboard is melting and creating a very intense glare which is preventing me from being able to see and unfortunately was involved in a car accident.
Strong mold smell from air vents. Especially strong for first 15 minutes of driving.

My dashboard has been melting for the last 2 month and now is a sticky and has an awful glare that is making driving very difficult for me. The dashboard is melting under the sun.
My dashboard has melted and become very sticky and shiny to the point that a glare reflects off of it onto the windshield dangerously inhibiting visibility.
I have a 2007 Camry Hybrid. The dashboard is constantly sticky and it feels like it's literally melting away. Especially when it gets hot, I can gouge out the plastic. I talked to the local dealer, and he said I would have to replace the dash. Doesn't seem like its normal wear and tear. Also creating a shine which is causing a glare on the windshield. Concerned about reduced visibility and air bad deployment.
The dashboard on my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid is melting! it creates a glare on the windshield which is distracting and dangerous. Anything placed on it sticks. Just touching it with a fingernail causes indentations and nicks.
All Toyotas with 2azfe engines and their variants need to be recalled. There is an inherent problem with excessive oil consumption due to a design flaw in both the pistons and rings of the engines. This problem then leads to problems with the emissions systems causing catalytic converter failure, a/f sensor failure and oxygen sensor failure. Toyota has known about the excessive oil consumption oil issue for years and has corrected its design. But, those who were unaware of this problem and never informed of it by Toyota are left in the dark. My issue is that the oil consumption now affects the emissions system. It is increasing more difficult to rapidly accelerate due to the fact that this oil consumption has now ruined my catalytic converter and thus making acceleration at the proper rate impossible. I went to accelerate and my car couldn't do it properly, nearly causing an accident. Then I noticed my mil was illuminated. I had it checked and its a p0420 code. I have had the car diagnostically examined and now the car cannot meet the minimum threshold for the car's ecm to conduct a self test, thus illuminating the mil. I have heard of others running out of oil and seizing their engines during operation of their vehicles. This is unsafe. Nhtsa and Toyota are both keenly aware of this issue, but nothing has been done to fix the vehicles that are already on the road. I went to my Toyota dealership where I purchased this vehicle new and the service representative said that Toyota will not fix these vehicles without the customer paying for the repair. The informal quote for the engine alone was $3500. 00 alone, not including the emissions issues. This is an absolute disgrace. I hope you do something about this.

Sent in complaint 11/15/2014 on deteriorating dashboard on my 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid brought to dealership florida # one service manager took care of problem replaced dashboard at no cost to me. Thank you Toyota.
The dashboard is melting apparently because of the warm weather in florida. The melting plastic has developed a shine/reflection that reflects on the windshield making it extremely difficult to observe roads and other cars. This is definitely a safety hazard and must be corrected for safety reasons.
Sunvisor is not holding up. After contacting several of Toyota dealerships with no avail I am finally complaining. I have noticed that there are many other Toyota customers who have had similar issues with camry and Camry Hybrids sunvisors in models 2007-2011. Many thanks.
