1 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2019

There was a recall on the passenger side airbag of my vehicle which Toyota fixed. While the technician was fixing my passenger side airbag they discovered that my driver side airbag had been deactivated. I contacted Toyota about the problem after reading about a recall which electrical connections to a spiral cable assembly can be damaged when the steering wheel is turned. Which could lead to the driver's airbag to being deactivated, and failing to deploy in a crash. I was told they would not fix the problem.

4 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2017

Takata recall- I've already had the drivers side airbag replaced. Now I was notified several months ago that the passenger side airbag needs repaired. Do not let anyone ride in that seat until repairs have been made. This is very difficult since I travel with friends and have to ask grown adults to ride in the back seat to be safe. How long is making a "fix" for this airbag going to take?? I know takata is being sued and other legal actions are being taken against them. I as an owner of this car since 2010 am angry. Please let owners know that something is at least in the works or should I sell a defective car???.

5 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2017

I had a vehicle accident on 5/11/17 of which caused a personal head injury laceration due to none of my airbags deploying inside of my vehicle when they should have. It advises that there was a recall on my vehicle for this back in 2014 for the drivers side airbags and there is no information stating that this recall had been done on my vehicle from the dealership or total loss records from my insurance company. I have attached 3 pictures of the damage done to my vehicle, as well as a picture showing no airbags deploying in the vehicle. Any information/documents needed for this please don't hesitate to ask.

6 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2017

Takata recall over a month ago my wife received a letter from Toyota stating that her vehicle was part of recall that involved the passenger side air bag. Upon reading the letter it stated "until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle while with an occupant in the front passenger seat. " that really sounds like a short term fix. So my wife called east coast Toyota that day and explained to the dealer about the recall notice, they told her that a remedy was available and made a service appointment for 4/18/17 @ 12:30pm. When she arrived they said that there wasn't a fix and didn't offer an apology for the huge inconvenience. At the dealer she was told that a fix would be available in June 2017 and that she needed to call the 1800 number on the recall notice. . After hearing about her journey I was upset so I decided to call 1-888-270-9371. The rep julia lisa said that a remedy wouldn't be ready until December 2017. I also asked what Toyota was offering its customers in the mean time because the short tiene fix was now a long term. She stated that we could ask the dealer for a "loaner car. " we really need this car to transport our family around. Please help.

Takata recall NHTSA recall no. 16v-340 & 17v-006. Why does Toyota issue an interim recall notice with no remedy available? I have a 5 passenger car that is now a 4 passenger car (really a 2 passenger car now b/c the back seat is so small) and I cannot carry my whole family in the car. This car no longer meets my requirements because of this recall and the inability to use the front seat. Why can't Toyota expedite the fix and/or disable the passenger airbag in the meantime? also, if my passenger airbag is made by takata and is affected by the recall, who is to say that my driver's side airbag is any safer? is the driver side airbag made by takata as well? has any investigation been done into the drivers's side airbag to clear it for use? what about the side curtain airbags? why would one side be safe to use and the other not be? can I safety operate my vehicle and depend on my airbag to save me in the event of a crash and not kill me instead? I'm not convinced. There are too many questions and virtually no answers in the recall notice. I expect a prompt, full, and complete remedy of this problem in a timely manner. , or Toyota is required by law to buy back, replace my vehicle, or offer me a rental for the duration of this recall. It has been over two weeks since I received the interim recall notice, and I expect to hear a response on availability of a fix more promptly than this. This is unacceptable!! Toyota has known about this issue for over 2 years with their airbags now and only now am I receiving a notice that my vehicle is affected. What am I to do? sit here and wait another 2 years for a fix? how long will it be?.

8 Side/window Air Bag problem

9 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2017

Takata recall - I have not experience an incident, rather, my complaint is that Toyota has no estimated date for when the passenger side airbag will be replaced and I will be unable to allow a passenger to sit in the front passenger seat until that is resolved. At the very least I would like to know that these recalls are being expedited and have an estimated time frame when my Corolla will be safely fully functional.

10 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2017

Takata recall. I received notification recently via mail of a recall on my vehicle. I was informed that this recall is for the passenger side airbag, manufactured by takata. My complaint is that the "remedy" is for me to not have any passengers in my front passenger seat until the "second phase" of the recall takes place but they cannot tell me when that might be. What kind of remedy is this? I can't drive anyone anywhere unless I make them sit in the backseat like a taxi. Also, this decreases the number of people I can have in my car. I want them to fix the problem. At the very least, tell me when they will fix the problem. I am unhappy with their solution to the issue.

11 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/09/2017

Takata recall I was notified about my vehicle's airbag recall sometime in early January. It is now may 23, 2017 and they have yet to contact me about the remedy. It has been over five months and they have not concluded a fix to the airbags on my passenger side of the car. It is truthfully, unbelievable that they have yet to find a solution to this problem. It is extremely dangerous to put someone in my passenger side of my car and will not put their life at risk but five months is more than enough time to figure out a solution. I checked the website and it predicts that the remedy will be available in December of 2017. I think this is inexcusable to allow happen. Granted, I do understand that it is not the drivers side airbag, but being a college student and having to transport people for my job, it puts them at risk. Thank you for reading my concern.

18 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2009

This is a follow up to a previous complaint. I felt compelled to do so after reading other issues people were having with there Toyota Corollas (s). I purchased this car June 1st 2009. Three weeks after purchase I noticed something was wrong with the paint. I took it to the dealers, the service dept manager looked at it and said it was due to the environment, the sales guy told me it was due to tree sap and the third time I took it the sales manager said it was from bird crap ( it's garaged most of the time). Weeks later I was hit by a concrete truck, at first thought it was the trucks fault but not real sure now because of the difficult steering with this car. At the time of the accident there was no air bag deployment. I had the car repaired by a private shop, they couldn't understand why the airbag did not deploy. While my car was there they looked at the paint. I have a black car with large white spots and was told there was a problem with the clear coat and it would cost around 4,000 to fix it. I again went to the dealership and was told this time that's what happens when you buy a black car. I have filed a complaint with Toyota and we all know where that has got me. I filed a complaint with the consumer complaint agency and Toyota failed to respond. Boy, for a reliable care the only thing I can rely on is poor quality and a death trap. I have a Dodge and will drive it before this death trap. Good luck trying to do a lane change and looking into the blind spots. I have almost hit cars on my right while attempting to do a lane change more times than I can count.
