While merging into the left lane on the meadowbrook pkwy. , my 2010 Toyota Corolla with (8,300 miles at the time), accelerator stuck. This was the first time this happened. I panicked, looked down, and saw the pedal stuck all the way down. After a few seconds I jammed on the brakes, & the pedal released. I do not believe this was due to the floor mat. My mat was not on the accelerator. This car from the beginning had "poor pick-up". By that, I mean it was very slow while trying to merge onto pkwy's to the point that I always had to floor it. I also from time to time heard a very slight click while stepping on the acc. Pedal. But for the first time, it actually stuck on me. I owned a 2005 Corolla before this car, & it was noting like this current car. I also owned a 1999 camry, & a 2003 4-runner. Until now, I never had a problem.

My Toyota Corolla accelerator stuck after the dealer fix it.
I bought a new 2010 Corolla and was told all recalls where fixed. My gas pedal stuck coming home from work I called the dealer ship they checked there records and found that my car did not get fixed.
2010 Toyota Corolla accelerator was stuck at 40 miles per hour. Just missed hitting another car on the entrance ramp in front of me. This car was supposedly fixed by westbury Toyota in westbury, NY on February 9th. The car was brought back to the dealer today, March, 10,2010. Where the dealer told me that owners are making this whole problem up, and tried to charge me $100,00 for an electronic diagnostics test on the car. He also refused to give me a loaner car or rental car at Toyota's cost while they checked the car out for a sticking accelerator pedal problem because the recall "fix" was already done on this vehicle. Obviously the "fix" did not work at all. I am afraid to drive this vehicle because it could happen again with fatal results.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. While the contact was driving 25 mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning due to the accelerator pedal sticking to the floor of the vehicle. The sudden acceleration caused the contact to crash into the rear of the vehicle in front of her. No one was injured during the crash and a police report was filed for the incident. Prior to the recent failure the contact had taken the vehicle to the dealership where recall NHTSA campaign id number: 10v017000 vehicle speed control: accelerator pedal and 10v023000 were performed on the vehicle. The contact noticed that after having the recall performed, the vehicle began to accelerate violently. The current and failure mileages were 150.
My sister was driving when she was about to park the car in a parking lot when the accelerator got stuck and she was not able to step on the brake pedal when it crash a tube. Which she proceeded to report to the insurance agency and did the report and call the police, but police said had to call the insurance. This was the first time that this had happen when using the car. Then I took the car to a Toyota agency to have the car be fix by this factory default. Which they told me were only going to fix the factory issue with the pedal but wouldn't fix the front bumper damage that the car presents because of the crash. I didn't agree in that since this was the car factory defect which led to the crash and the agency had to be responsible for the damage of the car and all that involves. Which I contact directly Toyota and they only told me to access this website to do the complaint online.
On February 15, 2010, I drove my 2010 Toyota Corolla for a short errand near my home. I stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, I proceeded to make a right turn. To keep the car under control, I gently pressed on the accelerator a little then pressed gently on the brake. When I removed my foot from the brake to return to normal speed, the car immediately accelerated without my touching the accelerator. I pushed hard on the brake and stopped the car. Then the car returned to normal operation. All this occurred within 10 minutes of leaving my home. At no time did I go more than 25mph. The pavement was dry. The car has less than 250 miles on the odometer. No, I have not received any letter from Toyota about the recall. After the incident, I called their customer service in CA. Their response, oops I should have gotten a letter but admitted none was sent. They will contact my dealer. 2 observations about the experience, if my hard braking did not work the car would have kept accelerating, the surge was powerful. Also, the engine did not rev, the car just seemed to get a signal to accelerate to a certain speed. Yes, the experience was scary and dangerous. Before, I was willing to give Toyota the benefit of the doubt, but it's hard to see how my gas pedal would get stuck after 240 driven miles. Please, do your job. Toyota should permanently take back any care experiencing this acceleration. These cars should be permanently off the road.
I drive a 2010 Toyota Corolla. There is something wrong with the antilock brake system; especially if I am trying to apply the brake to slow the car and am making a right turn(even slightly turning right). It's like the brakes lock up and the steering gets like a mac truck. This also happens when I go over a bump and/or pothole. It most recently even happened when I was driving down the highway and there was a slight right curve in the road and I wasn't applying the brakes. I took the car into the dealership today and they could find nothing wrong. Within an hour of leaving the dealership; it happened twice yet they couldn't duplicate the problem. I have a brand new car and am afraid to drive it. Supposedly my car wasn't recalled for the gas pedal because it was made in japan but feel like the gas pedal is sticky at times. I am very upset because I just put all this money out and I have an unsafe vehicle to drive. My daughter and I were going to try and drive across country this summer and now we cannot possibly for we donot feel safe in this car. Toyota should have to buy back the vehicles. I believe there is a much bigger problem causing all this that they are not admitting and/or have not found yet. I didn't complain or take the car back right away because I had similar problems with the scion xd and was told there was nothing wrong again and again. This is an ongoing problem.
