The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. While driving approximately 50 mph, an unexpected acceleration occurred and the vehicle speed rapidly increased to 85 mph and above. The vehicle failed to slow down. The contact applied the brake pedal repeatedly and shifted the gear into neutral until the speed rate reduced to 30 mph. The vehicle was moved off the roadway. The parking brake was engaged and the gear was shifted from neutral into park as the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis.
