My vehicle's air conditioner (2004 Toyota Corolla) is not working properly. The system will work for a few moments (blowing out cold air) and then will start blowing warm to hot air. The fan still works, there is no loud noises and I can hear the compressor engage when I turn the system on. I have researched this problem on the internet and have found that many other people are having the exact same problem and that bringing this fact to your attention many result in a recall of the unit. I have also read that Toyota has added and extra plastic piece to the a/c condenser on 2007-2009 models. Thank you for reading this and for standing up for consumers.

I am the owner of a 2006 Corolla 4-dr sedan. VIN - omitted current mileage 48820 about a week ago, I noticed that the air conditioner was not working. I took it to my local dealership (michael's Toyota in bellevue) for service where they told me that the a/c condenser has a hole in it and will need to be replaced - to the tune of $685. I was shocked by this so started doing a little research online only to learn that thousands of other 2006 Corolla owners are experiencing the same problem. Technical service bulletin ac002-06 was released by Toyota admitting to the faulty design of the condenser which left it unprotected and vulnerable to road debris. I'm shocked and appalled by this. With all of the negative press that Toyota has received in recent years, I would expect you to be going above and beyond to ensure that all known problems are corrected. I turned down the suggested replacement and will continue to seek arbitration. I have filed a complaint with Toyota. I was surprised to find that several official complaints have already been filed, yet no recall. I come from a large family of Toyota owners, we stand by our cars & trucks as they have always been extremely reliable. I will continue to endorse them. I just hope that they'll make this situation right.

It was windy on January 24, 2011 I was on a highway headed to great falls, montana when right outside of havre, montana a semi-truck driver hauling a load drove by me and a rock hit my car. I pulled over in havre, no rock chips on my windshield of the body. I opened the hood and on my a/c condensor was a dent. I thought it would be okay. But, since then my car leaks fluid in the front where the condensor is. There is nothing protecting the condensor from any rocks, etc. I have not driven the car. My brother is a mechanic and said it should be looked at by Toyota. I read about the TSB ac002-06. And am demanding Toyota fix the condensor and fix the gap so my car will be protected from this happening again. Also, I took my Toyota for the last recall to havre, mt I do not want to go there anymore. I had a 12:30 p. M. Appointment instead they took a woman who walked in after us in first. I was uspet she didnt have to wait and we drove 3 hours to get there. Thank you. .

When driving on I-355, many dashboard lights went up and car temperature is very high too. It is a brand new Toyota Corolla (<2000 miles). Had to tow it to the dealer and was told that a rodent chewed up ac and coolant tubes. Never heard of it. What a lousy design or parts that attract rodents.

Driving behind dump truck rocks fell out of truck and punctured the unprotected ac condenser. Then I lost ac during one of the hottest days of the year. Lucky my newborn was not with me. What really tics me off is Toyota knows about the problem and released it in there technical service bulletin ac002-06. Which I'm just now finding out about on the internet.
I was driving to work at 8 am in the morning and noticed that the air conditioner started pumping out hot air. Since that time my a/c has been dead. The vehicle is a 2006 Toyota Corolla le with 43,000 miles.
Toyota Corolla air conditioning problems: a/c condenser has been damaged by rocks without proper protection. The issue has been known from technical service bulletin ac002-06.
2006 Toyota Corolla air conditioning condenser went out. Toyota created a modification to the 2007-2009 models but won't offer a recall on 2006!.
The air conditioning condenser is mounted in front of the radiator and is not protected from road debris in any measure. Once hit by a small rock or similar item the condenser has to be replaced for about $600. A service bulletin issued by Toyota advises installation of a deflector shield which comes with the replacement condenser from the dealer. Simple correction of this problem is installation of a deflector shield before the problem arises. Air conditioning is a possible hazard in hotter areas of our country as will as the condenser does not work when using defrost or defogging on the windshield which is a sight hazard. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Our 2007 Toyota Corolla has a failure in the air conditioning system. After the winter, the a/c was turned on and it would not cool. Freon was put into the system and it cooled down again. However, a hissing noise was coming from the car after putting in the freon. Turns out there is a leak in the air conditioner's condenser. The TSB on the 2003 - 3005 Corolla indicated there was a problem with the air conditioning system. Supposedly, Toyota corrected this problem on future Corolla's, but evidently there is still a problem with it. We are having the condenser replaced.
We live in florida and we lease a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The a/c went out. The service department told us a rock hit the condenser and put a hole in it. There is a TSB out on 2005-2006 Corollas because of this problem. Report number ac002-06 the service manager told us it is not under warranty. Now Toyota is telling us we have to pay $645 to fix it. We feel Toyota needs to fix it. This is a persistent problem and design flaw. We need to have a recall.
In late 2004, I financed a brand new 2005 Toyota Corolla while residing in south florida. In summer 2008, I relocated to massachusetts. It was in winter 2008 that the engine warning lamp illuminated. I immediately took the vehicle to a Toyota dealership. I wasn't really given a real explanation of why the warning lamp was illuminated. I was quickly told it could be fixed. So I paid approx. $800. 00 to supposedly have it fixed. Literally, two weeks later the engine warning lamp came back on. I took it back to the same Toyota dealership and they told me they don't know what's wrong and would have to run more diagnostic test that would cost additional money. At the time, I did not have additional money since I had just dished out nearly $800. 00. I have taken the vehicle to independent auto shops in which they have not been able to diagnose the problem. In the state of massachusetts, yearly inspections of an operating vehicle is required. For the past years, I have had to have the light manually turned off hoping that it would not come on in time for the car to be inspected. The car has failed on several occasions because the engine warning lamp illuminated. In addition to the engine warning lamp being illuminated, I have also and still experience harsh shifting. The harsh shifting started approx. In late 2009/2010. I also started noticing decreased lighting visibility in 2011. At night, I have to drive with my high beams to see properly. Out of frustration, I gave up on trying to find the cause for these issues. I just dealt with it. I don't frequently use the vehicle now because I live in an area that is accessible to public transportation that allows me to get to work. Most recently, I was informed by a fellow Corolla owner that in 2009-2010 Toyota recalled for engine and engine cooling and headlamps. I never received notifications of such recalls!.
