Starting Monday afternoon (01/18/2021) my car has begun to stall everyday. It continues to stall now. Thursday (01/21/2021) I almost had a accident because my car would not go no matter how hard I pressed the gas. I took my car to the dealership were I am leasing it (01/21/2021) and they could not find the problem. I saw on the Toyota website that my car was apart of the fuel pump recall even though when I enter my VIN nothing popped up. May you please assist me? I have to work and I need my vehicle in order to do that.

From NHTSA website: Jan 13,2020 manufacturer recall number 20ta02 NHTSA recall number 20v012 recall status recall incomplete summary the subject vehicles are equipped with a low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This may result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. Safety risk if a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash. On 09/12/2020 I called the dealership to have the fuel pump replaced. They could not schedule me before 10/12/2020 due to the fact that the fuel pump is on back order. Toyota knew since at least January 2020 that there was a problem with the fuel pump. In September 2020 on back order?!.

My vehicle is equipped whith a low pressure fuel pump which may stop operating , this may result in a vehicle stall, I called to Toyota ok katy to get fixed and the only respond is the they dont have full to be replaced and I have to wait. At this point this isue has 10 months.
My car had early signs of problems within only the second year. It had stopped two times. If this car stops before the 18,000 or lemon law return it. I then was notified that it had 3 recalls. My car was actually still driveable. I also want to disclose that I deall with enviromental allergies. I had the vehicle fixed several times with no problem. However, after the recalls were fixed with the fuel pump and air bag I started to become extremly ill . I ever purchased a voc monitor and was ablet to detect gas at dangerous levels. My dealer Toyota bowie and the manufacturer did little to nothing to accomodate me. I will never buy another Toyota again, or a car period unless I can pay for it in cash upfront. The vehicles voc turned dangerous after turning on the car for 10minutes straight.

Toyota is taking an unreasonable amount of time finding a remedy for the fuel pump recall. My wife and I are afraid to drive long distances. Why can Toyota not replace the fuel pump with one from a prior year that worked? can I, at my own expense, have a mechanic install another type of fuel pump that works?.
Nothing has happened yet, but the recall on fuel pumps indicates that we could have a crash and maybe injuries or death if we drive the car. We are afraid to take a long distance trip. The manufacturer has taken an unreasonable amount of time providing a remedy. Our local dealer, world Toyota, has been contacted several times, but us waiting for Toyota to provide a remedy. No one can even predict when or if that will ever happen.
Received recall notice interim notice 4/17/2020 for low pressure fuel pump recall NHTSA # 20v-012. Called curry Toyota and brought car in and received a loner. They have my car over 70 days now with no remedy. My car is under warranty, less than 24months old and has a little over 7,000 miles. I believe it should come under the lemon laws #4. There is no remedy in sight. Please advise. This is the second recallon this vehicle.
When my wife parks the car in the garage and I go out later the fuel pump is still running. This has happened twice that I know of now and you have to put the key back in and turn it on then shut it off. I feel this could be a serious problem if the pump over heats.

Fuel pump issue - when coming to a stop and stopped at a stop light or traffic, the engine sometimes sputters and the rpm drops below normal idling range, car starts to shake and feels like engine will stop. Acceleration (press gas pedal) is needed to increase rpm or shift transmission in neutral.
I have been having a dangerous fuel pump issue for some time. I believe this to be the same issue that they have a fuel pump issue for 2018 & 2019 Toyotas! I believe Toyota has known about this for some time. My 2010 Toyota Corolla has been backfiring, stalling out, & shutting off when I get into heavy or standstill traffic, which is very dangerous. It stalled out & shut off in the middle of robbins street (3 lane 1 way street) near the tacony palmyra bridge due to a bridge opening that backed up traffic for over 45 minutes 1 day on my way home from work. When the bridge finally opened, I was almost hit several times. Luckily a mechanic came by & he was able to get it started again. I did take it to aaa service center in mt laurel NJ & they did diagnosed that it is a fuel pump issue that will cost $2,273. 40. Again I believe Toyota has known about this for some time similar to the brake recall that they had some time ago. This is a very dangerous issue. This issue still continues. . .

Toyota Corolla stalled a couple of times after the initial start in the parking lot. On 2 ocassions it would not start and I had to leave it at a restaurant parking lot and a grocery store. When I returned it would start. The last time, it would not start so I took it to a Toyota dealership for repair and was told it was the fuel pump.

Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the garage, the electric fuel pump started itself while the engine was off. The failure recurred. The contact called the prestige Toyota dealer (844-838-7075, located at 1096 NJ-17, ramsey, NJ 07446) and was told to bring the vehicle to the shop. The contac instead sent a video recording of the failure. The contact was told to take the vehicle to the shop. The contact called the halterman's Toyota dealer (570-339-9129, located at 1741 paradise trail rte 447, east stroudsburg, PA 18301) and scheduled an appointment for the following day. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with a case number: 2001171560. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,500. Fe.
Received two recalls for safety features. Recall 1/13/20 fuel pump issue that may cause vehicle to suddenly stall causing a crash. Recall 1/17/20 ecu recall that can cause air bags and seat pretensioners to not deploy in a crash. Going on two months with no remady. This seems unacceptable as only mode if transportation with children, that could encounter a safety risk at any moment.
My car is not covered by the Toyota fuel pump recall but I recently had to have Toyota replace my inoperative fuel pump. The car was stationary, in my garage would not start or run.

Toyota has a current recall for fuel pump failures but does not include my model and year. There are other Toyota vehicles included from 2015 and Corollas included but not 2015. However on 12/27/2019 my fuel pump failed while my vehicle was parked in my garage. The car wouldn't start. On 12/28/2019 my fuel pump was replaced for $1,680. 26. I am hoping that with your intervention, my vehicle could be included in the recall so I can be reimbursed the $1,680. 26. Being disabled and on social security, the $1,680. 26 is a significant expense that I would like to be reimbursed. The local Toyota dealership and Toyota corporate have denied my request for reimbursement. Thank you for your help. I hope you and your family are staying well during this difficult time.

Air bag was replaced but the fuel pump which caused the car to flood out and stall has not been fixed because the part is still not available for repairing the problem. I reported problems to Toyota and I was told that the part for the fuel pump was still not available. The car stalled at a red light and I took the car to the dealer and I was told to take the car home, park it and do not rive it because of the issue. The dealer gave me a car to use and it also stalled . . Toyota sent me a recall notice in January of 2020 but the part is still not available to fix the problem.

My 2010 Toyota kept stalling out, mostly when it was in idle mode. If I was driving a slower speed, it would sometimes lose power and when I pushed on the gas pedal, there was nothing there. . . Like air. It would stall out if I was sitting in traffic over minutes. I had to put it in neutral and keep my foot on the gas pedal to keep it idled up. Initially I was told it was the ignition coils, which I had replaced. Then the spark plugs were replaced. Then the air mass sensor. And my battery. Also the repair shop did some adjustment to the throttle. None off that repaired the vehicle; it was still stalling out just out of the blue. The last repair shop said they only saw one code in the computer and it was giving them a reading where the fuel pump had something like a "vapor lock" and was not sending out fuel like it was supposed to. This car has been stalling out on us since April 2019 and has had replacement parts that did not fix the problem. My fuel pump was finally replaced on February 21,2020 and so far it has not stalled out at all, even when it's in idle mode. Cost to repair it was $901. 67.
My vehicle stalled out on me while I was driving and was almost hit as a result. After many attempts to find the cause, the final answer was the fuel pump, $2900 later. I just heard about the recall and to my surprise my vehicle was not listed for the fuel pump recall. Toyota service replaced the fuel pump but I'm not sure they did it correctly because I am still having the same issues. I've owned 4 Corollas but this one I've had to put the most money in because of issues I've never had to deal with prior.
The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Corolla. While stopped at a red light, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not able to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

Our 2010 Toyota Corolla xle with 74,000 miles experienced complete engine failure due to a defective fuel pump. We own and operate this car at about 1,000 feet (omaha nebraska). My daughter drove this car north west towards the eisenhower edwin c. Johnson memorial tunnel in colorado and the engine completely shut down. Very little warning as the engine shuttered and came to a complete and unexpected stop in the middle of northbound traffic on highway 70. My daughter almost got hit by a couple of cars as she reattempted the climb towards the eisenhower edwin c. Johnson memorial tunnel. But to no avail. She took this car to stevenson auto in lakewood colorado for diagnosis, but they couldn't recreate the problem because they are allowed to drive only 20 miles or so and the car was towed 27 miles from highway 70 to their dealership (the closest Toyota dealer). They told my daughter to go back home to omaha nebraska because there aren't any fuel pump problems at low altitude. Btw, the Toyota TSB is entitled "extended crank at altitude".
Dear all, in my Toyota Corolla 2005 car, check engine sign are coming and going. There is some issue with fuel pump or gas tank. I have asked the same to Toyota dealership but they have no answer for the same. They are saying for checking I have to pay 150+ usd. As this is a mechanical issue, please help me to deal with the same.

While driving on 55 south freeway exit from 91 west to my work, my car suddenly stopped responding. It started jerking and suddenly stopped the engine. Luckily traffic wasn't that fast otherwise it could have created a big pile up behind me. I pulled over to the right shoulder and stopped. I tried about 3-4 times to start, but it did not crank at all. So I called the tow truck and towed to nearby firestone in orange, CA. They first suspected may be the bad battery, and checked and replace the battery but still didn't start. So they did complete diagnosis and found that fuel wasn't reaching to the engine due to fuel pump failure. They recommended to changed the whole fuel pump assembly and charged me about $1100. They told me that there has been known issues on 05 Toyota Corolla for fuel pump failure and they knew in 2005 and issued notice too. I have bought this brand new in '04 August from Toyota in claremont, CA. At least they should have notified us via email or postal mail since they knew about it, than I could have gone to dealership and have them checked for it. Now, I am stuck with the $1100 bill. That is ridiculous how careless Toyota is. No wonder, they had so many recalls last year 2011. I just want the Toyota to know about it and send me the money I paid to firestone. I have googled online, and found so many blogger who had issue with the fuel pump. So it has been still going on and Toyota is not doing anything about it. They should fix the issue right away, it's a manufacturing defect. Why they wait until people die????.
Have s 2005 corrola, fuel pump had to be replaced at 65,000 mi. Car shut off suddenly and almost caused an accident!.
