4 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 1994 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 07/31/2013

In July 2013, I started smelling gasoline as I was driving to work. Smell got stronger and more noticeable after gassing the car up. Then the smell became more noticeable day by day. Even just sitting in the car or as you walked past it. Car did not have to be on and you would still smell it. There were no noticeable leaks until recently. I thought it was oil at first but then I figured it could be gasoline. Had someone look at it and they noticed a crack in the gas tank that seemed to be blown outwards. I'm going to have it fixed but if this is a common problem then this should be considered a manufacturers defect and Toyota should pay for the parts & labor.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

Fuel tank protector band on the sub assembly rusted and broke off -. The 2 remaining bolts held. If it would have completely fallen off the car behind us could have hit it and we would not be aware that the assembly to protect the fuel tank was missing.

6 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2004 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 07/15/2009

For almost 9 months, I have not been able to fuel my 2004 Toyota Corolla without the gas pump stopping despite my gas tank not being completely full. This occurs on a weekly basis. I have been told the cause for this is a faulty charcoal canister. This may not necessarily be the correct diagnosis; instead there may be something wrong with the ventilation in my gas tank that is not allowing fumes to properly ventilate while fueling the vehicle. I have had no repairs to address this problem because the cost of a new charcoal canister ($400) is quite high and the charcoal canister may not even be the problem. I would like to see if any other 2004 Toyota Corollas have had this issue as well.
