The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Highlander. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle lost automotive power and started to drift to the right side of the road. The brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle was able to come to a complete stop. The contact mentioned she waited for aaa for roadside assistance. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 185,420.

The vehicle stalled twice on me at a red light. No power to steer. This both happened at a city near washington DC. Had my battery and alternator checked . Both came back as in great condition. Almost got hit twice from behind cause of the stalling.

While driving at highway speeds and exiting a highway, approximately 50 mph, the steering wheel locked up, dashboard flickered, and engine died. The red steering wheel warning light came on briefly, but the wheel could not be turned for several seconds. This happened 3 times in the period of a few minutes. Battery & alternator were tested - no malfunction.

Light on cruise control lever on steering column flickers off and on if vehicle is in motion and steering column is in use. Alternator in car already required replacement at 73,000. Dealership was advised of issue and I was told there was nothing wrong with the lever.
