Two problems related to front driver side air bag inflator have been reported for the 2010 Toyota Prius. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
After providing notice of NHTSA recall no. 16v-487 Toyota subsequently refused to replace the retention brackets on the curtain shield air bag inflators subjecte to said recall. The recall is clear that the retention brackets should be provided at no charge.
Last year (by a letter not dated !) Toyota motor sales USA mailed us a safety recall notice "interim notice" regarding the curtain shield air bags and since then the Toyota dealer did not contacted us to install the retention brackets designed to prevent the inflator chambers from entering the car interior. When will the remedy be available ? if it is available can we be contacted as soon as possible by the dealer (jim coleman Toyota, 10400 auto park avenue. Bethesda, MD 20817). Thank you.
