The abs traction, control and brake light come on for 2 to 3 hours. Then the light will go off throughout the day and then the lights will pop back on and I just went to stop my car went sideways scariest moment ever . The other vehicle on the 2 lane road I was on swerved off the road to avoid hitting me because the vehicle went sideways . At this time all 3 lights were lit up . I drive about 10 hours a day . Please investigate. (nearly died as well as the guy in the other vehicle).
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Toyota Prius. The contact stated that while driving at different speeds, the brake lost power. The brake light illuminated. The failure recurred and the brake locked up. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently. The contact called the panama city Toyota dealer, located in panama city, florida, and was told there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000. Fe.
Brought car in for recall j0v00d and immediately afterwards the abs,traction-control, brake light came on. The lights went on and off and then stayed on. Went back to dealer and was told it needed a $3800. 00 repair. Was told that certain VIN numbers were affected, but not my VIN#. Not sure how this is possible since I am reading all over the internet that this is a problem on this year car also? I was driving on highway us 19 in clearwater, when this all happened.

The problem started with a chirping noise when the brake pedal is depressed. Today the car appears to lose regenerative braking charging. The vehicle stability control and abs light and brake light came on. The brake appeared to be mushied.
The night before, everything was working fine. The next day, I start my car up at 4pm-5pm, first time I started my car and I have new lights on my dashboard. The ebrake light, abs light, brake system light, and traction light. I release my ebrake and the ebrake light is still on. Concered I checked the break fluid and the 12v battery and those were fine. Drove the car around the block to see if there was an issue or if the lights were just on. The brakes were almost completely out the vehicle would only stop when I put my foot to the floor. I end up taking the vehicle to my local Toyota dealership were after four hours of looking around, informed me that it was the brake actuator and the booster pump. Which also came with a bill of $3000 to fix it.

The brakes failed while driving. All the abs, brake lights and a continuous beep sound turned on. I almost had a crash. It was the brake actuator pump and I read about multiple owners had complains with it.
Drove to work on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 no issue with the car all day. Left work at 8:30pm and brakes did not work unless pressed extremely hard. Dash lit, brake light on left, abs on right of dash lit, triangle with exclamation mark in center with high pitched buzzing noise. Backing up was fine but not when the car was in drive. Contacted Toyota dealership in wilmington, delaware and they stated no current recall on brakes for 2005 Prius. Checked recall history which showed zero unrepaired recalls which means the pump was replaced prior to my purchase of vehicle. However, still having problems with brakes.

The dashboard lighting system quit turning on in July 2019. I could not tell how fast or how slow I was driving. The anti lock brake system light turned on while the car was running on Sep 23 2019 and the brakes failed to operate while on the road outside my house.
Was parked in line to pick up child from school. Turned car on and put it on drive, moved slowly when parking brake light, abs warning light, traction control light all came on and then my brakes went limp. Had to push all the way to the floor and stopping was still hard to do. Almost hit the car in front of me when suddenly all lights went off and brakes jerked to a sudden stop. I'm terrified to drive my car at faster speed knowing my brakes basically went out. Pretty sure it's failing brake actuator and Toyota knows about this probably but didn't do a recall only extended warranties. . . I didn't own the car when those warranties we're going on in 2016. Headlights also will randomly turn off and I have to turn them off and back on constantly driving at night.
My 2005 Prius has an abs and brake light on . Fail to stop. One day I was on highway and the abs start making noise. ( alarm). And brake stop working. Almost got into the accident. When I got home , I start call Toyota to report and check on my brake and abs light and any other recall. They said no more recall for my Prius 2005. I think whoever own the Prius have the same problem. And out of luck for the abs brake recall and have the accident. I hope Toyota extend the recall the brake , abs ,.
Brake actuator assembly malfunctioned, and had to be replaced, just as predicted in Toyota's warranty enhancement zg1. Toyota knows the part is defective, but they refused to replace it until it failed, and mine did not fail until after the extended warranty deadline. This failure happened on I-45 near madisonville and I had to pull off the road because a warning light brake light went on.

I was driving on the highway 75 mph, (had just gotten back on the highway from a quick stop) when suddenly the brake warning system came on. The brake light/anti-traction control/high pitched siren all sounded. My braking power reduced to around 20%. I was in traffic. I was able to pull to the shoulder and gradually slow down to around 30 mph while traffic was whizzing by. I had to drive on a narrow bridge shoulder to get to the next exit, a mile down the road. After exiting, I turned off the car and restarted. The first time, everything was fine. The second, I had the same problem. Third, no problem. Fourth - problem again. Fifth - no problem. I hired a mobile mechanic to come and do the computer diagnostic, which showed no faults. He then reset the computer; I tested out the car to see if it occurred again. And it didn't, so I cautiously drove home. Cause is unknown. Thankfully this didn't cause an accident, but it could have!.
My abs, traction control, and master brake light came up on the dash. The problem is a failing brake actuator, which is a known issue by Toyota. Spoke to Toyota a dwas told that I am out of their ten year extended warrenty for this issue and it would be a roughly $2700 repair. Why this brake actuator was never placed as a recall is beyond me as a complete failure is an accident waiting to happen. Toyota refuses to budge on their "extended" warrenty for a known defective part, that would cause a serious hazard if it failed while driving.

The emergency brake light, abs, and traction lights illuminated on the dashboard. Took the car into the dealer and they reported that the brake booster and master cylinder needed to be replaced. The car was stationary when the lights initially came on and the lights stayed on while it was moving (highway and city streets). The 2010 Toyota Prius was recalled for the same problem. It seems the 2011 continues to have the same problem.
For the third time I have had to replace my brake light switch, this is a safety issue as it affect how the brake lights work. The break light switch, when malfunctioning prevent or inhibits the vehicle from starting properly. If the switch fails while driving, it can cause problem with the battery regeneration, this is in addition to causing a driving hazard while driving.
Brake actuator making noise along with 3 different brake lights on. Toyota previously had a recall on this exact issue which has since ended. Many cars are still at risk.

Brake light, antilock light, vehicle stability light, and yellow trains came on. Having problem with braking. Does not not seem to brake as good. It is very dangerous when driving.
When driving down the road all of a sudden we tried to use the brakes and it felt like we only had 10% of our braking ability. The brake light came on and abs light went on and the stability control light came on as well as a warning buzzer. It felt like we had manual brakes.
Traction, brake and abs lights all came on at once, pratically lost all braking while driving but able to slowly stop. Squishy brakes. "pump" sounding noise like it's having trouble pumping brake fluid.
Brake light/tsc light on dash was on. There appeared to be no difference in drive-ability, but there was a humming noise present at idle and 20-30 mph. Took car to dealer 4/30/2019 for check. Coggins Toyota in jacksonville, FL determined the cause was a, abnormal leak in the accumulator. They replaced the brake booster/master cylinder assembly. After the new equipment was installed, the technician noticed the new pump assembly had excessive noise and vibration internally so another replacement part was ordered. New pump assembly brake booster was installed and car was put back in service 5/19/2019. Total cost of this service was $2,745. 11. We later learned that a customer support program csp zjb was issued by Toyota for 'certain" 2010 phd Prius, "certain" 2011-2015 Prius, and "certain" 2012-2015 phv Prius. As per the csp zjb mailing to our relative who also owns a Prius, the problem was "with the brake booster and brake booster pump assemblies". According to dianne, customer service rep with Toyota, these vehicles included in the csp zjb were produced between October 2010 to November 2015 and included some 946,100 vehicles. My vehicle was not included in this program as the VIN number did not match the affected vehicles. However, we had the same problem with our vehicle that the program was initiated to include. Upon submitting a request for reimbursement from Toyota for the cost associated with repairs, it was rejected. We believe the problem for which the service program was initiated is the same problem we experienced and our vehicle VIN should be added by Toyota to the list of affected vehicles so that it becomes eligible for expense reimbursement.
Brake warning light broken brake actuator system Toyota dealer refusing to fix this safety hazard under the warranty enhancement notification zg1.
The abs/brake light/ slip inidicator warning triangle on & off. My 2010 Toyota Prius ii has 153k mile. This has gone on/off for a few weeks now. The brake seems to loose the hydraulic power brake. I feel like the brakes have failed a few times while driving at higher speeds. I have to pump brake and vehicle begins to brake on 2nd pump. I've had to triple my stopping distance as to not rear anyone. I went to autoshop, they said it's the brake actuator/sensors that need to be replaced and it's expensive $2-3k. They said it need to be fix soon because brake might fail at any time. I called camelback Toyota, phoenix, az, ed in service dept said there is no safety recall for this even though they know it has been a common problem with Priuses . I checked vehicle repair history looks like abs programming was flashed back in 2/11/2010, when vehicle was still on the manufacturer, 3 miles. I have not fixed yet. Please research this issue further for safety reasons. I do not want to kill anyone when brakes will eventually fail.
Takata recall 1. Driving on surface street at approx. 45 mph attempting to slow down for an intersection all the brake warning lights came on, while I was applying the brakes they had failed, eventually the vehicle came to a stop. After that incident the brakes are working normal. Apparently there was a recall to address the issue and it is no longer valid, I was never notified of the recall and the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from (used) never notified me of any recalls. I am a Toyota owner with a defected vehicle (a known defect by the manufacture). What are my options? 2. The headlamps (left) intermittently goes out, I have replaced the lamp, checked the fuses and it still happens, others have described loosing both lamps. Both issues above are safety issues that can contribute to serious injury incidents. These safety issue needs to be addressed by Toyota.
The car was moving when the traction light, abs light and brake lights all came on. Thhe brakes felt a little different then. I could still brake but they were more stiff.
All of the brake lights on my dash lit up, brakes weren't working well, took it to the repair shop and was told it was my brake actuator.
Brake actuator not working properly when I use the diagnostic settings it works but then after a while it stops working again. Was going 50 on the highway when brakes stopped working almost wrecked. Brake light (!) light abs light and vsc light are all on.
When the brakes are applied and going over a rough road surface, or pothole, the brake warning light appears, and the brakes suddenly stop functioning until back on a smooth road surface. This happens all of the time under these conditions. It is really scary when the vehicle suddenly loses all braking while trying to stop. I have a 2010 Toyota Prius and a 2012 Toyota Prius. They both have the same problem with the abs braking system. Cannot understand why this is not a full recall on this potentially dangerous condition.

While driving, the abs, vcs and red brake light all came on. Had it towed to the dealership and was told the brake actuator needed to be replaced for $3,000. It was diagnosed replace brake accumulator assy. (brake accumulator assy. Leak/ low pressure (c1256, c1391)).
The abs and other brake warning lights go on randomly and the brakes become stiff. Took the vehicle to the Toyota dealership and they said it is due to the brake actuator assembly. The abs actuator assembly part was part of an extended Toyota warranty under notification zg1. However my vehicle just missed the deadline for the warranty by three months. This is a safety issue for Toyota as they know this part has a high failure rate. Warranty should be extended in order to cover repairs. Filed a case with Toyota, case # 1901312287.
The attraction brake and abs lights come on, the brake become spongey and fail to stop the vehicle , I almost had an accident while this happens while I was driving the vehicle.
My car was parked on the street,I got into it, turned it on, shifted to driving and started proceeding forward. I then noticed 3 lights (the abs light, brake light, and traction control light) suddenly appeared on the dashboard. Nothing out of the ordinary occurred prior to the light coming on, it just suddenly appeared. The error code in the computer system read c1391. The details read there was "abnormal leak in accumulator". The car no longer drives safely. If the brakes are pressed suddenly the car skids instead of slowing down. In order for the car to come to a complete stop a lot more pressure has to be applied to the brake compared to before abs problem. The stopping distance has increased by approximately twice its length. The car is no longer capable of sharp turns, the back end of the car skids dangerously left or right while turning, depending on the direction the driver is turning. The braking, handling and control of the car decreases so much when the roads are wet that at times the car skids even when going at a cautious speed in rain. For my safety and for others I drive in "b" instead of "d" when it rains.
Brake accumulator failure. Specifically repair t-sb-0079-18 abs, traction, brake lights on. Brakes not as responsive/spongey. No regenerative energy from braking.
