1 Suspension Noise problem of the 2008 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 03/29/2019

There was a popping noise in my steering wheel and then I had no movement in my tires. My steering wheel just spins round and round but my tires will not move I was driving down the street and I had no control of my car. So I believe it has something to do with the steering shaft or suspension.

2 Suspension Noise problem of the 2010 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 03/15/2019

My car got stall on the road, it had a problem related with the hybred system. I took it to the Toyota dealer and they said it was in a recall list. So they fixed but they damaged the suspension of my car and now they don't want to fix it. My car is making a noise when I move the steering wheel and also when I brake. My car wasn't making such noise before the stall on the road. I am frustrated with all this problems in my car.

3 Suspension Noise problem of the 2017 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 07/08/2018

Car has loud continuous creaking/squeaking noise from left rear of the car. Sounds like it is coming from the suspension or body flexing when driving. It occurs when turning and reversing out of parking spaces. Also happens when car is going uphill and downhill and on winding roads. Driver seat also squeaks when in a certain position. Squeaking/creaking from rear left side of the car can be dangerous if coming from the wheel area or suspension.

5 Suspension Noise problem of the 2011 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

There are 3 issues I am having with this Prius. The brakes are the first problem. As others have stated, I too have the same lurching forward when braking over bumby or rough roads. This has been ongoing over the last few years. Second, the suspension is creaking and crunching when making turns at low speeds under 20mph. This happens when the wheels are turned all the way right and all the way left. This crunching noise happens when backing out of the driveway, making u-turns, coming to a stop on an incline, and braking over speed bumps. I've had the dealer look at this for the last year when I come in for service and one tech says they can't figure it out, another tech says he hears it but can't find the root of the problem, the service mgr. Also went on a drive with me and reproduces the noise concern but the techs couldn't find it. Most were suggesting new front suspension components-struts, towers, links, etc. I replaced the two front struts and all of the extra components-the noise concern is still there. I am very upset about this. Third issue is the ice-motor. When stopped at a red light and the engine shuts off, the car lurches forward and makes a creaking sound. It's appears that something is not right. The engine seems like it is loose. The engine also makes rattling sound when cruising lightly at 15-25 mph with the accelerator pressed slightly. The sound is coming from the passenger side, under the dashboard-glove compartment area. This is a rattle sound coming from the engine. I've had this looked at as well and the dealer states they cannot duplicate it. I have recorded all sounds related to these concerns and am taking it back to the dealer this month.

6 Suspension Noise problem of the 2012 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

Repeating several-second groaning or grinding noise heard from rear wheel area upon startup motion. The noise is severe and sounds like low-pitch metal grinding. It's potentially brake related but could be suspension bushings or other components rubbing against one another. It does not sound like typical brake glazing. The noise occurs in all weather conditions and typically after vehicle has been sitting for several hours or overnight. Noise continues for several minutes at stop and start. Noise is loud enough to startle an experienced driver. The absolute severity and indication of the sound is enough to question safe ongoing functionality of braking and/or suspension systems. Multiple reports are documented online at Priuschat. Com. Toyota does not appear to have a fix or resolution at time of writing, 10/2012. This is for 2012 Prius v model five.
