The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Rav4. The contact noticed that his vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil upon inspection. The contact stated that he had to add two quarts of oil to the engine every five weeks. The contact went to a dealer where he purchased a pcv valve and a hose connection; the contact's neighbor performed the work on the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.

2 Crankcase (pcv) problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2013

My 2007 Rav4 has 95,000 miles. My oil light has been going on and off when stopping. I took it to my mechanic 1200 miles before the indicated oil change and it was low on oil. He replaced the pcv valve. I am not hopeful after reading all of the comments on line.
