The contact stated that the heated seat feature was in the off position. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and the vehicle was being diagnosed while filing the complaint. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. I received an electronic message from NHTSA that my vehicle was subject to a manufacturer's recall (I. E. , defective seat heater ). However, that message was in error after I checked with the manufacturer as well as after contacting the NHTSA office.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated that the front driver side seat cushion heater generated excessive heat. The contact was not injured. The contact mentioned that the front passenger side seat back and heating element were both replaced previously due to the heating element generating inadequate heat.
