Front Seat Heater/cooler Problems of Toyota RAV4

The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated that while picking up her husband, upon sitting on the front passenger’s seat, he noticed that the seat was extremely hot. The contact stated that the heated seat feature was in the off position. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and the vehicle was being diagnosed while filing the complaint. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

I received an electronic message from NHTSA that my vehicle was subject to a manufacturer's recall (I. E. , defective seat heater ). However, that message was in error after I checked with the manufacturer as well as after contacting the NHTSA office.

The contact mentioned that the front passenger side seat back and heating element were both replaced previously due to the heating element generating inadequate heat. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v743000 (seats). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,815.
